Yellow Flags--Rick Gosselin, Dallas Morning News
This was a factoid in the Rick Gosselin column for today, Inside the 40. Pretty interesting:
"Yellow flags
The last referee the Baltimore Ravens want to see walk onto the field is Terry McAulay. In fact, he's the last referee any road team wants to see. McAulay and his crew have worked seven games this season and slapped the road team with 10 or more penalties in four of them. That's twice as many as any other crew. In fact, four officiating crews have not assessed 10 penalties on any team anywhere this season, home or road – the crews of Jerome Boger, Pete Morelli, John Parry and Jeff Triplette. McAulay has been assigned two Baltimore road games and has flagged the Ravens for double figures in penalties in both – a pair of Baltimore losses. The McAulay crew penalized Baltimore 11 times for 91 yards in a season-opening loss at Cincinnati and 10 times for 86 yards in last week's setback at Buffalo. The McAulay crew also worked the NFL's high-penalty game of the season – 15 for 132 yards against the Eagles at the Giants. Overall, McAulay has penalized the road team 61 times for 502 yards this season compared to only 35 penalties for 285 yards against the home teams."
I think thats bullcrap
