The Colts were certainly not a dominating team this year. The games I watched them play in with the NFL Package, they seemed to be going through the motions. They did not look dynamic as they had in years past. I am disappointed that they didn't beat San Diego to face off against the Patriots again. Last year's game was great.

I agree...I blame that mostly on them missing Harrison. I mean in years past it was Harrison and Wayne eating up defenses, both of them gaining 1000 yards and a ton of TD's you take out a weapon like that and your offense is definately goign to struggle. I mean Dallas Clark turn into there go to guy at one point.

But isn't he supposed to be the quarterback who can read a defense like no other? And isn't it awfully odd that he has these "match up problems" any time he has a big game and it is on his shoulders? I think he just chokes.

Well in this case, there is a precedent. Look at the regular season game. Probably the worst game of his career. There is more than meets the eye here.

I wouldn't calling choking but going up against a team that is better. Chargers defense is an has been exceptional.

Perhaps, but there is also a precedent of him choking in the play-offs, which is why this is an issue.

Yes, Peyton choked..........again. But dont worry, its not his fault.....its never his fault. ;)

Well you also have to look around at his supporting cast, they really didn't play a big part either. Harrison fumbles on the first play, Dallas Clark drops the wide open pass at the end of the game. Football is a team sport, and while the two picks he threw were directly on him, no doubt, the whole team crumbled, on both sides of the ball. I mean, where was Bob Sanders the whole game? :o

Well, no argument there. Maybe the Colts just aren't as good as their record says?

I had picked them to lose this game either way. The Jags would have destroyed them if they played the Colts.

What's perfect? Having a nonexistant running game, and defense that can't stop Billy Volek is tough for anyone to overcome even Tom Brady would struggle.

Brady's first three super bowls were won with average teams where he was essentially the only GREAT player. Defenses suck at times, but they played well enough to keep him in the game and they came through when it mattered to give him that last chance in the end. A running game wouldn't have made a difference in the 4th quarter when Manning had 2 or 3 opportunities to win it for the Colts and failed. Brady would've drove the Pats down the field and won that game. Manning couldn't. And that is what seperates a truly legendary quarterback from a good one who is overrated.

Manning was throwing into double coverage all of the 4th qtr. Peyton thinks about the big play too much, and forgot about "taking what the defense gives you"

Yep, you don't win a game by making a 70 yard touch down pass. You win a game by driving down the field and completing small to medium gains. Manning doesn't understand that because he is selfish. He always wants to be the hero and have the spotlight on him. Make the pass that no one else can...and thats why he loses in those situations.

Brady had poise when they won those Superbowls, , but The Patriots defense was MILES ahead of the Colts defense. Brady is a leader, no denying that but he had tremendous help on defense, something Peyton didn't have for many years.

Based on what? The other two games played between the two?
Well, there was that Giants game that was played on Sunday.....I was gonna say the same thing but after Dallas laid its egg.

The Defense was always good, and it was essentially the same defense minus Asante Samuel. They had Deion Branch at WR a couple of those years as well on offense, as well as Corey Dillon. Not scrubs

I'm just waiting for the excuse to come.......one year it was the refs, then the next it was the defense, then it was the line protection......I'm not saying I wouldnt be frustrated but Manning(unless he's playing Denver or a depleted New England team) doesnt really win you a whole lot of games in the playoffs.

I had the Giants in that game, regardless. Solely because of the Cowboys distractions, lack of momentum, and injuries. And because after his play against New England and Tampa, I felt Eli had truly turned a corner. That win wasn't a surprise to me by a longshot.

But there was nothing about the current state of the Colts and Jags that made me think, "Yeah. Jacksonville would beat that ass if they faced them again."

Colts "D" was ranked higher.

why are the giants getting no ****ing credit ??....all people are saying is that dallas screwed up, not that the Giants played well.....

Perhaps, but then when they got a defense it was the line, then it was the refs. Now it is the defense and running game. You guys are all about excuses. The Colts defense was always good enough to make play-offs, and therefore good enough to win a superbowl (not a single team in the play-offs lack the potential to win the superbowl). Again, the defense has kept Peyton in the game and yet he just can't win when its on his shoulders.

I'd like to see Eli get a ring(just to shut Tiki up), but the Colts are a completely different team in the playoffs and Jacksonville was playing some good football.

Yeah, even when the defense was average at best, what happened to "Well the Colts can score 50 on any team anyway!"

The Giants played great. I give Plax a lot of credit. He has played injured all year and has still put up big numbers.

That being said...does anyone else think it was incredibly stupid and a bit selfish of Tony Romo to use his bye week for a vacation?
