beating OSU would secure him at least another 2 seasons

It would take a miracle, granted. But stranger things have happened.

Two seasons? Probably, Michigan's been their b!t(h forever now. (I'd say "we", but I'm only a fan, not an alum)

and that's why.....look at Jim Tressel, he understands the rivalry....OSU has been meh recently but they have beaten Michigan and thats what counts to a lot of people

I hope RR gets fired though. Obviously he was never going to win in WVU but he came pretty close. He was pretty much getting to the BCS every year. Still shocked that he just left them for Michigan immediately after Les passed on the job.

I would love for Rich Rod to come to UCF. I hope this win today doesn't stop UCF from firing George O'Leary.

I would like to announce that the Georgia Bulldogs just beat Auburn for the 4th straight year. Woof woof woof!!!

^ nice

i had a feeling Pitt was going to beat ND today

I think Rodriguez and Shannon only get one more year to turn in some bona fide results; with the emphasis on the latter coach.

Ugh.

I'm willing to give up your first born to get Butch back in here.

Julio Jones touchdown was hilarious. He just jogs out there and is like "uh, noones covering me...."

Longhorns win again. Colt only needs one more win to have the most wins for a starting QB in college football. HOOK EM HORNS!!

I think RR COULD have won at WVU. We got too drunk on success and he was too drunk on the Michigan job in 2007 that lead to us choking on Pitt and costing us a national title shot. If he had stayed through 2008, I think we would have gone to another BCS bowl.

Right now, it looks like the pressure is getting to him, plus it takes a couple years to get his system going. Personally though, I hope he does get himself fired, since I don't intend on forgiving him anytime soon.

Did everyone NOT a fan of the Trojans laugh their asses off at the Stanford/USC score?

Many Michigan fans would love that as well. But thankfully, the fans don't make decisions.

If it were up to me, I'd give him next year and the year after (the rest of his contract I believe), but I'm not one to blame coaches quickly.

Firing a guy after just two seasons just seems wasteful and would probably do more harm than good. There was promise to start the season (~8-9 wins). It just all horribly dissipated ...rather quickly.

The fact that he's implementing an entirely new offense (practically foreign to Michigan), just got his QB this year and has to essentially turnover the entire roster to shape it as needed, would seem to grant him some time. Next year is huge for him, but I believe any new hire, outside of being absolutely hopeless, deserves that much.

Tennessee dismisses Richardson and Edwards http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4660351

Freshman Tennessee football players Nu'Keese Richardson and Mike Edwards, who last week were charged with attempted armed robbery, have been dismissed from the football team, coach Lane Kiffin announced Monday.

Freshman safety Janzen Jackson, who also stands charged in the case, will continue to be barred from team activities while Kiffin awaits additional information. Jackson and receiver Richardson were two of Kiffin's most prized signees from his first recruiting class.

"After extensive and thorough research of the situation over the last four days and considering various disciplinary options, I've decided it's in the best interest of our program to remove Nu'Keese and Mike," Kiffin said in a statement. "As I've said many times before, we hold our student-athletes to an extremely high standard on and off the field. Our student-athletes must be responsible members of society, and this type of conduct will not be tolerated."

Since when does Target sell firearms?

:rimshot:

I've been reading up on coaching rumors and well...no mention of Bobby Petrino, which is good news for Arkansas fans.

Uga VII has died :csad:

In only his second season as Georgia's mascot, Uga VII has passed away.

The cause of death was a heart attack, according to WSB-TV.

Uga VII, named "Loran's Best," made his sideline debut on Aug. 30, 2008 in the Bulldogs' game vs. Georgia Southern. He compiled a record of 16-7 during his tenure, the shortest for any in the Uga family.

Since 1956, the University of Georgia's mascot has come from a line of solid-white English bulldogs named Uga, owned by Sonny and Cecelia Seiler of Savannah.

Man, only four years old, that's terrible. Well, at least he got to see them beat Auburn.
