Sequels 2014

Ive been thinking there are two movies for 2014, we know one of them is going to be Captain America, will the other be Avengers 2 due to the sucess of the film? ..I know its been said its slated for a 2015 release but since its been so sucessful do you think they push for the film to get filmed a year earlyer the other films will be done shooting next year? .or will the other movie in 2014 be for the Hulk or another project just wanted see everyones opinion on this

The second movie will be a new property. Dr. Strange, Black Panther or Ant_man are the most likely candidates for this slot.
Don't expect an Avengers sequel earlier than 2015 (which, in my opinion - and I know I'm a minority here - is still to early to regain the momentum and hype the first one had)

Im in that minority too. I would love them to push it back to 2016 so they can get two more films in 2015. But its probably for the best with RDJ's age climbing.

They can have two films in 2015, too. Avengers 2 and something else. Dunno why everyone keeps figuring Avengers, going forward, will be the *only* film they release in any given year. It had to be that way for 2012 because that was the cornerstone, first time it had been done. Avengers is now a franchise, though, and no longer uses up all Marvel's resources and budget like the first film did.

I've been wondering for awhile if they hadn't announced the May release yet cause they were waiting to see how high the hype train was for Avengers.

2 years is easily enough time to make a huge movie.

I would bet it's not going to be A2....but May 16th is a pretty prime release date for a movie so I wouldn't be too surprised.

Hoping the other thing they were waiting on was too see how the Hulk faired in Avengers to see if he could get his own movie again or not.

If it's a new property I'm hoping for Strange

Regardless of success, there's no reason to rush Avengers 2. Take their time, let the rest of Phase 2 set up and come out with another amazing Avengers movie in '15. As for the second film of 2014, My guess will be either Black Panther or Dr. Strange, but with 'news coming in the next few months' about Ant-Man, it could very well by Pym we're getting. If it's BP or Ant-Man hopefully that will set up for either of them to join Avengers 2.

Not to read *too* much into it, but this looks like the version of GOTG they want for the big screen. Wish Groot and Warlock had made the cut, but it'll be awesome to see Drax, Gamora, Bug, Rocket Racoon and Starlord.

Hmmm Guardian of the Galaxy is like the wild-card of MCU. I definitely have no idea how are they gonna work with the Avengers.

I also hope it's Black Panther. I don't think that Ant-Man is in Marvel Studios' schedule. If Wright films it this year, for instance, as he hopes, are they going to wait a year and a half to air it? It'd come out in 2013. It's just its own thing.

And since GotG doesn't fit in with TA2, it might be in 'phase 3.'

Or I'm just hoping, hoping for Panther.

Corrected that for you. I don't see Black Panther happening...but GotG Its almost been announced. Its happening 2012 along with ant man, remember, I said it. Those are the two movies

Haha I knew this was going to happen. After Fieges interview in April, to me it sounded like GoTG was basically a given


and I am a bit bummed Warlock won't make the cut :/. But atleast we have drax.

While my dream would be Avengers 2 out tonight, if we want it to be the best movie possible then 2015 would be much safer than 2014. Look at how they rushed Iron Man 2 after the success of the first one. They released the date after the opening weekend without even telling Favreau. In the extras on Iron Man 2 you can see how they were in a mad rush to get it done in time.

I think I can safely promise you it won't be Ant-Man

for starters Edgar Wright just signed on to do this new Johnny Depp movie, meaning a May 2014 release is unlikely

secondly Ant-Man, if it were to get a movie, has no business being released in May

look at the movies released in May: Avengers, Johnny Depp in Dark Shadows, Men in Black 3, Battleship (which despite it's silly premise is tailor made to do at least decent business at the box office with it's strong promise of action).

Previous May relases include the Pirates franchise, Spider-Man, Shrek

Ant-Man is in reality a Feb-April relase for best box office case scenario, but would probably get a June or August relase, which might be fine.

however you put it in May or July (Amazing Spiderman 2 and TF4 are already taking up box office recipts for those months) and you set it up too fail.
