I would love to know what her and Lois talked about for 3 hours.
I really liked that they were all giggly when they walked into the dorm room together.

Ohh yes I forgot about that scene. The first thing that popped into my mind was the fact that it wasn't the usual Chloe + Lana, it was Lois + Lana so I was like wtf?!?!?

A sign of things to come.

I like how Lois said she had an unbiased ear, obviously unlike Chloe who is ALL Clark. (Smart girl that Chloe):)

Apparently you dont know the definition of a threat. All Lex said was "you lost Lana all by yourself." And he was right.

I wasn't talking about that.

I was talking about Lex saying he didn't want to hear about Clark going through Lana's things like a crazy person again.

Lex implied he would do something to Clark if Clark did. That was an unspoken theat but imho a threat all the same.

And Lana accepted him going into Season 5 knowing all that and forgetting it. It was Lex that made her start to question everything again in Hidden.

Why was Clark being an ass. What he said was right. You acted like my friend and as soon as I stood aside you went down for the kill.

Actually the whole "Lex pretended to be Clark's friend so he could get Lana" is one of Clark's paranoid beliefs. Those werent Lex's intentions in the beginning, especially with him trying to HELP Clark win Lana. If you really believe that than apparently you're biased in all things Clark. Clark is wrong some of the time, you know?

It wasnt a threat b/c the word "again" wasnt in the line. He pretty much just said "I dont like hearing that you're breaking into Lanas apartment and going through her stuff to find answers that you can come to me about."

Lex would just lie & say there is no Secret Place if Clark did talk to him. Lex is not fooling anyone here

"...come to me about it" (or else). It is a threat and it's his rightful place as boyfriend to mark that boundary, establish his territory, and protect Lana, because it's one line not even Superman can cross.

He couldnt go to Lex though because Lex was in trouble, that's why Clark went to Lana. Stumbling on all the Laboratory Information was just a bonus for him.

The least Lex could have said was thanks for looking out for me.

Why does Lana need protecting from her boyfriend? She's a big girl, and she's repeatedly said it.

lana pissed at clark for confusing the hell out of her, clark pissed at lex for having to turn back time, clark pissed at lana for not being pissed at Lex, but quite the "opposite", lex pissed at clark for "harrassing" lana and for pretending he loved her all these years..

all this excrutiating, agonizing negativity..

think i'm loving it.. :)

I dont think it was that way in the beginning and I dont think Clark thought that either, but as time pushed on, lets say from mid-season 3, things were certainly looking that way.

actually, she's not that big.. :)

but boys will be boys no matter how big she is..

Lana turning 18 also helped things a bit, though I believe the age of consent in Kansas is 16....

I've also kind of just come to the conclusion that this is part of Lex's need to get with Lana.

Its all about Clark.

He wants Clark to be jealous.
He wants to shove his relationship with Lana in Clark's face.
He wants to tell Clark what a jerk he is.
He wants to show Clark that I can protect Lana just as much as you could.

Its all about CLARK not Lana.

If you remember in that scene it was Lex that brought up Lana not Clark. Clark just stopped by to see if Lex was okay.

I'm glad Clark walked away and said nothing. I think that was what Lex was hoping to get out of him. An argument about who was the better man for Lana.

Once Lex sees that Clark has moved on from Lana, I'm betting Lex will lose interest in Lana.

i think i wrote once a "zen" version of that.. ;)

You're right into Zen, eh?

Have you got a warm and fuzzy version that you could share?

You make some good points. Dont know about Lex losing interest though. He IS in love with her as evidenced by Lexmas. He will be pissed though when the inevitable happens and Lana betrays him (in his eyes) and sides with Clark in some way after finding out his secret. That'll drive him to no return.

That's what I thought

So after its all said and done it WILL be over a girl...

:down

Anyone else find it funny that Lex can quickly deduce that since Fine disappeared in a hundredth of a second, he's an alien. Yet in Mercy, when Lex tells Lionel "One second he's next to me, the next he's across town."

Uh lex put 2 and 2 together baldy.

LOL... That's actually a good point.

If we all weren't eating this stuff up, we wouldn't be here, despite all protests to the contrary. ;)

LOL! Avid, my dear.. I never realized what a Clex fan you were. :p ;)

Actually, I agree, but only partly. I think Lex does truly have a thing for Lana.. she fits his Oedipal criteria, and like someone else pointed out, Lexmas revealed a lot about Lex's true desires.

But I also think that by Lex's very nature, he will be more than happy to *use* his relationship with Lana against Clark, in all the ways you've pointed out above.

I also think he will lose interest in her, but only after he realizes that she will ultimately choose Clark's *way* over his (once she realizes Teh Evilness within.)

I'm starting to wonder if part of Lana's motivation to be with Lex is going to evolve to a desire to "save" him: an obviously impossible task.
