6.19 Nemesis - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

its funny that while s4 is my least fav season, it has my fav episode...unsafe....

(ok, its not really my fav, that distinction belongs to rosetta/relic...but its number 3 easy)

You just like the ten minute long Alicia/Clark foreplay session. :p :cwink:

I hope they don't follow that Naman, Segeth thing again. I was glad when they finally dropped that. It was cool the first time they mentioned it but ......

the second you thought, "alright your milking it now."

From Ausiello

Question: Can I please get some Smallville scoop?— Amanda.

Ausiello: Episode 19 (aka "Nemesis") is very Lex/Clark-centric. The two of them get trapped in a tunnel and spend their downtime hashing out when their friendship went sour. Also, Lionel lands in ICU… and at the mercy of Lana's dark side. Yes, she has one — and it's a doozy

I guess its a safe bet from this little spoiler that Lana is after her revenge in this episode and since Lionel is a casualty it would seem safe enough to presume that he is behind the wedding fiasco.

I wonder how she'll feel when she finds out that Clark is trapped in there as well. :csad:

Wouldn't take everything so seriously. You will like it.

Besides Lana wouldn't kill anyone...period. Not in cold murder at least.

Unless you count Mrs. Teague....but Lana wasn't really herself at that time.:cwink:

I'm really looking forward to the Clark/Lex conversation. I wonder at what point in time they realised that their relationship was doomed.

The day they met on the bridge???

^ It saddens me actually.

Watching through the first season again makes me sad, because I didn't want their friendship to end.:csad:

I really look forward to hearing this conversation between the two.

I thought I was the only one who missed those good old days.:csad:

Yeah, I'm with you guys. I always feel sad when I watch the first season.

By the second season, you can tell that they were actually starting to have a difference of opinion on the way they viewed things, and then by the third season its almost like Lex is dragging Clark into his world and it really takes alot of effort on Clark's part to not fall into it.

Good stuff.

nah, i liked it also when tehy were friends except when Lex started talking about hsi tortured child hood then i just felt sorry for clark having to sit and listen, while, i had fastforward.

One of the posters over at Sweet, who is up on her Greek gods/godesses more than I am just pointed this out. (I used to be married to a man who had the body of a Greek god, now he's just a god damn greek) . :D

Nemesis was the Greek goddess of retributive justice, avenger.

Fits in with what we're hearing.

Good find.

CW aired a promo trailer for Smallville's return on April 19th. Most of it looked like it was from "Nemesis" with shots of Clark and Lex in a tunnel of some sorts.

Also, shot of MM from "Static" and a "war is coming" kind of line. Someone savvy will have this thing up in a short time.

Yeah the preview has me hyped about this episode.

Looks like your theory about this episode was right, avid, based on the new preview... Good job! ;)

What was your theory?

You're not going to make me wade back through all these threads to find it, are you? :( ;)

LOL! I wouldnt do that to you.

My theory was that Clark and Lex, whilst trapped in the cave, come to some sort of understanding and regret over their failed relationship. Then by some miracle, Lex finds a way out, but he leaves Clark in there to die.

From TV.com

Lex and Clark get a chance to hash out their differences... when they're both trapped in a cave after an explosion, and Clark is unable to get them out without revealing his powers.

This sounds almost excatly like The comic The Amazing spider-man #136.

TVGuide's Description:

"Lex and Clark are trapped in an underground maze that's rigged with explosives, and the two reveal secrets about each other that were best left unsaid."
