Yeah...that's a nice thought, but I'm guessing less than half of those you mentioned actually get recognized by the academy.

by being the best.Project862006 said:i am sorry i just cant fathom how a movie black and white with no dialouge beats films in color, jaw dropping cinematography, fantastic scores, and with expertly written screen plays
sorry, low standards?artist was a cute fun film with lots of nostalgia ?sure
but best film of the entire year
give me a break guess some people have low standards
but to be honest some of the best films of the year weren't even nominated
Driver
Warrior
Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
just to name a few
Well I have to agree with what someone else said and say that the 20123 Oscars is gonna be loaded with with competition.
The Hobbit and TDKR alone have me freaking out.
With the 2013 Oscars, people are gonna be really happy or really pissed with the nominations and the winners for sure.
Don't get your hopes up for TDKR.
Don't get your hopes up for TDKR.
I know that for a fact, but it'll be really interesting to see next years nominees.
Sorry, I missed the part where you said "technical awards." Yeah, I think most of those have a shot at that, but if Giacchino's beautiful score for Super 8 didn't get recognized, I'd be shocked if his John Carter score gets remembered after being released in March. The only one I think is a sure thing at this point is Day-Lewis for Lincoln, because, well, duh.Well Acting wise, I truly believe Leonardo DiCaprio will do some dangerous work for Quentin, and Daniel Day Lewis will be incredible as well. Spielberg has too perfect of a cast set up for Lincoln, HIGH HOPES for Nolan, Scott, and Alfonso Cuarón, Gravity and The Avengers will do some damage in the technical awards, and The Hobbit. Michael Giacchino for John Carter, Williams for Lincoln and Zimmer for The Dark Knight Rises.
