I have first hand experience of how it works, and my point was never about whether some feel sorry for him or not, it was the way he was portrayed as somehow more important than the others that died with no hand in their own death, after all when you stick that first needle in, you are making a choice, you are not addicted then.

Where the hell are you getting the notion that he was more important? He was presented with the others in the same fashion. It wasn't a popularity contest montage. His death was tragic. I'm not gonna damn a man because he made a dumb decision for reasons I don't know 20+ years ago. Who then stayed clean for 23 years. Clearly something happened that knocked him off the wagon. Have some damn empathy.

Zimmer is a hack and film music is devalued by being associated with Zimmer.
