9.10 - Disciple- Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

boy any one notice the solar towers are getting built pretty dam fast. though its not to unusal there. i seen building go up fast.

Awesome episode, the confrontation at the end was sweet and OMG @ next week's Blockbuster lol, I can't wait to see it, it's gonna be fun!!!:awesome::up:

yes he does in must comics. smallville just has yet to do it and go with classic early green arrow clean shaven look. Yea i totally liked the episode my self too. Everyone was used well and screen time it seemed to be pretty well all around.

any one 100% sure on the dark archer name?
I had closed captions watching this episode so when they said Vordigan they showed me how to spell it.
I hope they showed the Van Dyke on Ollie later.
Like to see Clark won't play when his loved ones are in dangers

Did you guys notice the curl on Clark at the beginning?

We can thank the wind for that. :awesome:

Well, Smallville's back after the longest hiatur ever, so let's get down to business:

The Good:

Clois-It's just great seeing them together and I like how they are both approaching the relationship, Clark being very romantic but Lois wanting to take it slow. That kiss was magic, uhh, all their scenes were!:woot:

Zod-For an Oliver centric episode, we got a good amont of Zod here and Callum was awesome. he is definately manipulating Clark. My favorite scene is Zod visiting Lois, so unexpected and the tension between them was great.

Clark-I was a little pissed that Clark seemed naive when talking to Zod at the beginning but in the end, I was glad he manned up: "If you go near Lois again, I will destory you all." Just AWESOME!!:wow: I also liked he told Chloe that her obsession with spying is pathetic, does she have a life outside of Watchower?

Mia-I liked her here more than in "Crossfire".

The Bad

Chloe-As usual....no point in talking about her...won't waste my time.:whatever:

Oliver-More Lois pinning? I thought he was over that? Not to mention he turned into D@#che Arrow when he was with Mia.

Dark Archer-Not much of a villain. Why not call him Meryln, since he obviously is. Why did Oliver keep mumbling his name? Vortigan? Mortigan? Whatever...

Some plotholes-How come Clark didn't understand the symbol for Rao when he's known the Kryptonian language since Season 2? Why didn't Clark notice Zod's towers being built?

Anyway, I enjoyed it better than "Pandora", but it still was a filler. Not a great opening for the second half, but hey, we have Absolute Justice next week, so this was technically an appetizer. 7.5/10

Ok tonight was finally the first new episode of 2010 part of the 9th season of smallville. So glad the hiatus is over. Man it was a long two months wait. But i was totally happy with the return of the show. It was a very strong episode to return on. So i hope it does well with ratings.

I thought the storyline of the episode was pretty good. We got some nice solid development with zod/clark, lois and clark dating life, and green arrow/mia/ and the dark archer. I thought screen time was well spilt between everyone. Like how crossfire was handled there. It wasnt to much on one character over the other. I know alot were fearing it was going to be a full on olliville episode like roulette was. I was glad it wasnt.

To start off the episode we get to see the end of a lois and clark date. which i am really liking how they are handling lois and clark dating. So much better then all the crazy drama we had with all the lana and clark relationships over seasons 1-7. Also it was cool we found out that ollie/tess and alot of other daily planet workers know they are dating. That is a nice touch there.

Also the intro for the dark archer was pretty wicked trying to take out lois. I liked how they kept him pretty mysterious and all that. Also i loved the backstory for him and the cult he and ollie were apart of. I am glad they didnt do any retcons again with ollie's past and had it he was in the cult after his island stay. Its to bad the character was pretty much arthur king/meryln i still wonder why they couldnt secure the name rights to the character. Though that wasnt to bad there.

The character was pretty wicked. I loved his look and his weapon usage. I also thought the actor played the role very well. I definately would love to see him return again in the future. IE if a solo green arrow series were to happen. I am glad for once a villain wasnt killed off at the end of the episode. I always hate when that happens in these shows so we cant see said character again. So good move there smallville writers/producers.

It was also great to see mia again. I liked her in crossfire so i am glad they had her return. Hopefully she will have a 3rd spot somewhere between episodes 19-22 range. She was pretty good to tonight. The actress was good. Also it was interesting that she learned about ollie being green arrow. I was kinda hoping she would have known already. But she was pretty good. I hope if she is back again that she has a costume it would be nice to see what smallville would do with her look.

Also chloe was pretty good in this episode. I thought allison did pretty good work with her. I liked that clark is on her about her spying and that she is spending far to much time in watchtower. also it was good that chloe came clean about the whole roulette game thing she was apart of. Also the attack on watchtower was pretty sweet. i was wondering if any villains would break into heroes HQ.

Zod was pretty wicked to tonight. I am glad his storyline is developing well. The clark and zod scenes at the farm and on the building top was pretty good. Zod is not liking that clark wont help them get their powers and is getting on clark about that. also what a wicked move there for him to be going onto lois.

You dont want to piss off clark there. Also its neat that the solar towers are getting built. Though at a fast pace. Although we dont know when construction started on them and how much time from pandora and disciple took place. So it could have been awhile so work on them could have been moving at a fast pace and all that.

So i really enjoyed this episode alot. Glad the break is over. Hoping we do get some solid good overnight numbers tonight. Also JSA next week that should be a great episode/tv movie there. So ready for that. So far i am liking how second half of the season is going. Glad season 9 so far has been holding well and has made up for how bad the later half of season 8 was. Cant wait to see how the rest of the season turns out.

Good episode tonight. Yeah, it was pretty filler and I couldn't care less about Oliver and his past but I really enjoyed the Clark, Lois, and Zod scenes.

For an Oliver centric episode this was pretty damn awesome .

Good
1. Lane & Kent: OMG the way this relationship is progressing is sensational . Clark's step up his game play to a romantic level. Lois is holding back a bit but she's taking it all in slowly (That kiss was magical) . I'm really delighted to see tptb are handling this relationship with maturity compared to how they totally butchered Clana .

2. General Zod : Man Callum Blue is simply magnificent in this role . I loved every scene was in especially his meeting with Lois and that final scene with a very pissed off Clark . The way Callum tried to manipulate Lois was brilliant .

3. Clark Kent : Tom was Super in this episode , I loved how he's much more confident as Clark now . I loved how he basically told Zod that he's not going to let him manipulate him into restoring his army and himself their Kryptonian powers.

Mia - She was much better than her debut episode "Crossfire" prehaps her next guest star episode she'll become Speedy .

Oliver - Justin was great in this episode .

nice review kal i agree a pretty solid episode all around and a good way to start off second half of the season.

Solid episode. I actually gave a good "**** yeah!" when Clark uttered what is now one of my favorite lines he's ever delivered on the show (easily one of the most, if not THE most badass):

"You go near Lois again, I will destroy you all."

So damn badass.

Agree on alot of points you all raise.

I wasn't really looking forward to this ep thinking it would just be another chapter of Arrowville. Luckily and to my surprise there was a lot of Clark tonight.

Clark's interactions with all of the characters was just awesome. From the fun moments with Lois, to the great back and forth with Zod (Callum has been fantastic as Zod). Man just all around awesome tonight--especially for half filler episode.

Only Two things that bother me:

1. How does Clark, Lois or Chloe not know about Zod's company RAO and the tower he's building. I figure something like that---so big and elaborate with the obivious Luthorcorp ties---would be talked about around the Daily Planet. Besides the fact that Clark saw the tower in Lois' future flash.

2. The unknown Kryptonian symbol---is that supposed to mean RAO? Why doesn't Clark recognize it?

This season just continues to truck out the goodness and with SV:AJ next week it's just getting better and better.

yea as i stated in my review and others they spilt time between all the characters pretty well tonight. and good thing it wasnt a full on ollie episode i know some folks are sick of that.

1. clark and company probably know about it and have plans starting up on that. and probably wont let things get finished and all that.

2. Yes clark knows symbols and how to read kryptonian language that doesnt mean he knows everything there is about krypton and all that. So its probably something he doesnt know what it is.

Yeah, we all kinda knew it was going to be filler coming in, even made some good refrences to Ollies other episode "Arrow". But it did get the story moving along, Especially the Zod/Lois/Clark dynamic.

Any guesses what the symbol stood for? Shouldn't Clark know this?

totally sam. KBX it sounds like it was the symbol for RAO which was krypton's sun. Now as i said in my post above sure clark knows how to read symbols and the language of krypton. He doesnt know everything there is about krypton and its past and all that info. Also i was wondering if any one can get a screen cap up from the solar towers at the end of the episode?

Thanks, lol, maybe I should read some posts before asking a question...

I got one more, did Zod kill Jor-El or are they going to make it to be someone else. I do remember Clark asking his father who did this and he said, "I don't know" and when Clark brought it up to Zod, he kinda looked surprised...

I think it was always implied it was someone else...

I think its the Kandorian from the season premiere that came back to the present with Lois to kill Clark...
