A New Era for the Wrestling Thread

Trick Williams is definitely a future world champion imo

As for the heels on Smackdown yes there's a shortage outside the Bloodline. That's why I figured Randy would turn soon. Owens still might. He's been a face a long time, and on a personal level I just prefer a heel Owens.

Santos and Carmelo are mid card guys and personally I don't see either moving higher up the card than that. I'm aware Melo has a lot of fans, though.

It's time for some nxt call ups soon.

Yeah, I definitely think it's time to pull the heel triggers on either Randy (Assuming he goes back to SD) or Kevin soon since you can really feel the void of credible heels on SD.

Also, I don't know about anyone else but I just don't see anything special about Bronson Reed. I feel like he would be better back on NXT.

I'd far rather Owens honestly. Orton I kinda hope more just goes in the direction of a self serving face. Keep him unpredictable, make it feel like anyone can be a target for him.

Heel Owens is such a force to be reckoned with meanwhile face Owens is a bit of a nothing burger. He's just the Save Man right now

Now another question for the thread, what would you do with Austin Theory? How would you book him?

Send him back to NXT until he actually develops a personality

I think an NXT run would be good for him right now, like it was for Corbin.

I also think he could use a valet or manager. Not sure who I'd pick for that role, though.

The Gunther and Orton segment on Raw amped things up between them, Gunther's getting more confident on the mic and really embracing being the sneering heel, and this bled nicely into the latest chapter between Punk and Drew. I like the fact McIntyre hasn't taken his focus off the World title, and the way the brawl played out between him and Punk, I'm guessing they're having a strap match next.

Bronson Reed vs the Miz was a solid match that continued Bronson's monster heel push, it's amazing how over as a finisher the Tsunami has gotten in the space of week, Cole and Macaphee did a great job selling it on commentary and it just shows how simple booking can still be very effective.

The Alpha Academy vs American Made was OK, big opportunity for Ivy Nile officially going heel with the group, the highlight of the segment though was Gable's promo from France, the guy is absolute gold right now.

Damage Control vs PFC was a decent match, I wasn't surprised the Champions interfered, setting up a triple threat tag title match for next week. I'm guessing the PFC will win and the Sky Pirates will chase them for the belts.

The Judgement Day stuff was fine and the mixed tag match for Bash in Berlin should be fun, Liv and Dom are going to need help lol.

Always good to see an Intercontinental title match main eventing, this was probably the best of the 3 matches Bron and Sami have had, and the finish was nailed. The booking of Bron post Mania has been great, he's become a bona-fide star in a short period of time and is a genuine tweener.

Much as I love The Rock's Final Boss gimmick

THIS is the real final boss

Ethan Page's run in NXT has been arguably the surprise of the year, he was always capable enough in the ring but on the mic all he did was shout, but now he's found his niche as this smug, narcissistic heel. I like the mix of Pete Dunne, Hendry and Wes as perspective challengers, Wes in particular cut a really good promo on his heel turn, it's an interesting new direction for a guy with babyface offense.

Dempsey vs the Don was a really good match, probably the best I've seen under Heritage Cup rules, the addition of Wren Sinclair has freshened up the No Quarter Catch Crew, her dynamic with Dempsey is working. The Don gimmick is silly but he's solid in the ring, i think he'll be Oba Femi's challenger at No Mercy.

Speaking of Oba Femi, @NDX you had to enjoy that entertaining hoss clash between him and Otis. :D

Like the Don, I think the Chase U gimmick is a but goofy, and Andre Chase looks like a sleazy shower peeper, but their tag title win was another really good match between them and Frazer & Axiom. I'm curious to see where the former champs go next as it felt like a split was brewing.

Next week's Eliminator Guantlet to decide Roxanne's next challenger at No Mercy should be interesting. I'm hoping Sol Ruca wins as I think her vs Roxanne would be the best match, but given their little interaction at the Great American Bash I think Jaida Parker will win.

The Wild Samoans are both gone now. RIP Afa :(

Carmelo Hayes needs to slow down in the ring.

The opening segment of Smackdown was fun, the entrance of Queen Nia was great and Pretty Deadly are ideal as Tiffy's sidekicks and Nia's Court jesters. :D I like that the undercurrent of distrust between Nia and Tiffy is always there, and it was cool to see Michin crash the party and get a title shot, she's really underrated.

I thought Owens vs Waller was a good match and I'm enjoying the rivalry between Andrade and Carmelo, they keep coming up with fresh stuff in each match, and now it's heated up with the post match brawl. Naomi vs Davenport was a bit scrappy and I was surprised to see Naomi lose clean. It was good to see Roxanne, Ethan Page and Trick Williams in the crowd.

The #1 contenders match between the Street Profits and DIY was excellent, probably the best TV match I've seen this year, the pounce into the German suplex spot was awesome! I was hoping the title match with the Bloodline would be at Bash in Berlin, but it's next week on Smackdown.

The final segment brawl between Roman and Solo was physical, when Roman got the Ula Fala I was expecting a Hikuleo debut, as I thought they'd keep Roman and Jacob apart for now, especially with Jacob's injury, but there he was, medical boot and all :D the booking of Jacob Fatu has been spot on so far, he even ran over Roman with ease, and Roman sold it like death, I loved the way he dragged Roman back into the ring and presented him to Solo like his prey.

I gotta second that. Street Profits vs DIY was great. I'd love to see them get another run as champs. Too bad they have zero percent chance of defeating the Bloodline next week.

Please note my girl Tiffy did not bow to Nia.

How dare Michin interrupt Pretty Deadly the musical :argh:

Anyone else find it strange that they haven't retired/dropped the Universal Championship already? I get why they kept it around for Roman, but it makes no sense to have it now.
