How do you know he was referring to the X-Mansion's cerebro?

It seems pretty obvious that Charles was referring to the X-mansion's Cerebro when he said "Because he helped me build it". The whole conversation stems from a comment Xavier makes about mutant brainwaves being different from humans, and that happened because Logan said "It sure is a big, round, metal room".

for some reason I'm thinking this movie won't go deep into the future ala 2000-something(probably to avoid X3), I can see the apocalyptic future taking place in the mid-to-late 90s, early 2000, probably to alter the events of X1. If so they could bring in James, Halle, Famke, Patrick, maybe Ian for cameo roles (i don't see Rebecca coming back due to the fact that it'll cost a lot of $ to transformer her into Mystique when they've got Jen), X1 imo always had a late 90s feel to it, so if the future is set in late 90s that means Rogue/Logan didn't join& whatever the outcome of the time traveler mission is will result to the actual events taking place in X1.

I can only hope halle berry never don's an x-men suit or white haired wig..ever again.

Your post wasn't addressed to me, but I wanted to comment on it. We do know from the original films that a second Cerebro is built in the mansion and it seems logical that Magneto's powers would be needed in the construction of that big round room with all the metal panels.

You're right that we haven't seen it yet, though.

In a sense, both you and Dagenspear are right. You are right that there are unanswered questions, but it's also fair to say that some of the suggestions for answering them make sense. Fans of a franchise are always going deep into it and filling in the blanks themselves - this happens with all films and certainly all the films I see discussed on SHH. I've seen people coming up with explanations for the unanswered questions (and/or plotholes) in every single film debated on here. The Dark Knight Rises, Superman Returns, Looper, Avengers, you name it and it's been discussed and dissected to death!

Hopefully, Fox's attempts to create a shared universe prevents these questions, inconsistencies and continuity issues from occurring.

Yes, we don't know at this point how FF will feature in the shared universe. I'd imagine that they first need to be relaunched with a new origin story and new cast, before any crossovers occur. So I would think we won't see them meeting each other for a while yet, but I have no idea whether that's right.
Of course, Franklin Richards is part of DoFP in the comics, so it's possible he could appear there (but it would be a bit meaningless before we see his parents on screen first). It took six films before Avengers so it might take six films from now until an X-Men/Fantastic Four crossover (which would probably see them facing off against Galactus).

They could also have included Daredevil if they'd got their act together in time. Joe Carnahan's planned 70s-set film for Daredevil could have fitted in with a 70s era X-Men First Class threequel - maybe the newly-blinded Matt Murdoch, struggling to make sense of his new abilities, first went to see a specialist in superhuman powers (Xavier? Beast?). And Daredevil could easily have existed alongside Deadpool or Wolverine on screen. There would have been potential there. The danger is in making it feel forced, but then again all these heroes have met up and crossed over in the comics.

All very valid points, X-Maniac. I think you've summed it all up quite nicely.

Not really. Implied and presumed, never outright said. For example, before FC we assumed that the Mansion Cerebro was the first version; yet after FC, we now have proof that there was another Cerebro which was never explained or shown until then. You're presuming this without any facts to base it on. I understand why you're doing this, but I can't agree until it's been established.

There are better actresses out there for the role. It's too late now, but I wish Angela Bassett would have taken the role of Storm.

Angela doesnt look as good now as she did many years ago.

Remember her role on Green lantern, and that was shooted in 2010

One other possibility might be Christine Adams, the British actress who was Sixers leader Mira in the Terra Nova series...

If they're tying it together with the original films I'd rather they get Halle or just leave the character out.

Halle Berry is much prettier than Christine Adams and Angela Bassett. She must return, is the biggest star after Hugh.

It'll be Halle or nobody. People won't get excited about a big X-Men reunion if characters are re-cast.

For continuity purposes - and God help us, we need to ensure that - then it should be Halle and I'm sure it will be Halle. Hopefully with better hair, better acting and better directing! I like the Storm hair in the image above, much better than the horrible fringe in X1.

It's not about never being told there was another Cerebro. The context of the discussion, even when viewed now, after the existence of FIRST CLASS, indicates that Xavier is referring to the "big round room" that they're in at the time. That's the line of logic their conversation follows.

"It certainly is a big round room" (Referring to the room they're in)

"The brainwaves of mutants are different than those of humans. This device amplifies my power, etc, etc" (Referring to the device they're currently using)

"Couldn't you just use it to find Magneto?"

"I've been trying, but he seems to have found some way to block his brainwaves, or whatever he says here" (Referring again, to THIS Cerebro)

"How would he know how to do that?"

"Because he helped me build it". (Referring, since no other Cerebro was mentioned, to THIS Cerebro). Not "He helped me design it, or build the first one" (now that we know that there WAS a previous one), but "he helped me build it, referring to the same "it" they've been discussing in that scene.

Why people would suddenly think Xavier was talking about Magneto helping him build the first Cerebro, or a Cerebro we're never told existed, instead of the Cerebro that is being discussed at that moment, is kind of baffling to me.

What baffles me is how hard some of yall are working to justify blatant continuity errors. They aren't awarding No-Prizes for this. it just wasn't a priority when they were making First Class and now we're left with a number of George Lucas-quality gaffs.

I don't see how that's working hard. Magneto helping to construct a new Cerebro in the School is the first thing I thought of, when they reveal Hank is responsible for its initial invention.

You mean the cerebro that was completely obliterated by Riptide?

Sorry, I was referring to the Cerebro in the School. I edited my post to better reflect that.

It's very easy.Off screen before cuba magneto helped build an early replacement for cerebro at the mansion.

If they acknowledge Xavier's line in X-Men, I would prefer they not go that route. I think it seems unlikely that they would fail to address something like that in First Class.

No i don't think so. I think if it's gonna happen it'll happen in the sequel. I believe they even said something about it like "Well the thing about Xavier and Magneto is that they are on-again off-again bffs" suggesting that Magneto could help him build it in the sequel.
Personally I think it would be a good moment, and if they create a new Cerebro (in my idea) they send Xavier's mind back in time and he receives his future memory through Cerebro. It could be his first attempt at using it.

I've already given you my reasons for why it isn't official canon. I won't delve into the subject any further.

Pretty much this.

I could see that happening and would definitely prefer that route.

I think that Bassett was(still is, although too old to play Storm now) a beautiful woman that fitted Storm's look more than Berry did. I love Berry as Storm, but Bassett would have done a better job imo.

Although, you could blame Berry's performance on the material that she was given.
