The Dark Knight Rises Adapting Robin

Now,Robin should be in first,To get to understand Nightwing very interesting charecter,Then go to nightwing,AKA going Corrupt.

i see what u guys are sayin i jus like nightwing better than robin he looks cooler lol

I'm completely against Robin's inclusion in a Nolan film, but if they HAD to use him, I say do it like they did in Dark Victory.

Personally I stick to the theory of nightwing having mob relations. An anti heroic take on the character.

Anyone remember the kid in BB, where Batman thru him his scope gadget thingy?

Since 3 years passed to get to TDK, he can be introduced into the third film as Robin or Nightwing wateva

I'm jus lookin at tha possible connection of havin Batman change a kid's life by givin him that gadget.

it wasnt 3 years... if i remember correctly they always said TDK only happens a few months after beings... hence the lack of Wayne manor.

ooh yeah, and NO ROBIN ! (what about jim gordons kid? :oldrazz:)

I can see Robin fitting in if they wanted him to. Ofcourse some changes would have to be made but if they wanted him to be in the film, they could make it happen in a good way.

Seeing Nolans movies,He could fit Robin perfectly in there.Maybe the Little kid in Batman Begins?

No way. I mean come on, the people that he trust in this film is dead or destroyed.

Rachel? Dead. Harvey? Half dead.

Not to mention all the police officers, and etc who is all dead as well.

All thanks to one villian.

You think batman dares to put ANYONE in his way?

And you guys are forgetting one IMPORTANT thing. Why should Nolan listen to fans to such a big extend?

The last time a comic book film director decides to give what the fans want, and what he DON'T want, we end up with spiderman 3.

Nolan isn't going to be the right director for a batman film with robin. RESPECT his decision. Because if you guys FORCE him to do something he don't like to do, do you think you can get a proper adaption of robin?

You want a proper adaption of robin, just wait for a new director to helm batman...

This is a good point. But it's a question that's intrinsic with Robin and it would have to be addressed in the film in a satisfying way. It's part of Robin; it's not what a reason why he shouldn't exist.

what the hell are you talking about. No one can force Nolan to do anything, it would have to be his decision. And plenty of people have pointed out how Robin would make strong thematic sense considering what Nolans already done with the movies, so deciding to include him may still be a possibility. And for the last time people need to stop making comparisons with Spiderman 3. On any level. That movie is no kind of benchmark for anything. The only people who still think about it are children on this forum.

I mean when you think about it, really think about it, why the hell would a billionaire playboy want to adopt a kid between the ages of 12 and 17? Other than he was family of a close friend who died or is somehow related to him it's just a really really creepy situation.
This is why I would establish a relationship between Bruce & Dick's parents. You don't even need to introduce Robin or Dick Grayson, the Flying Grayson's could feature in the sequel and have it just be Dick's parents (perhaps Dick isn't born yet or is just a baby), have Bruce help them or vice versa at some point, establish a friendship there. Perhaps Bruce could help fund the circus in some way after an attack/sabotage. We don't need to see Robin, but hes such a huge part of the mythos I would hate to see him completely omitted, just a hint that he might exist in the universe one day is good enough for me.

Well there have been speculation that a dick grayson character might surface in the nolan universe of batman. But if there were to be a dick grayson character should he become robin or nightwing?

Well perhaps if dick grayson was introduced to the franchise he would be introduced as a abandoned ophan in his teens, maybe 16 or something like that.

And while duck grayson was little, maybe 6 or 7, he runs into a bruce wayne (in his teens) and they discuss there losses, bruce knowing that dick is a orphan that lost his parents to the mob. They discuss how gotham can be saved and how both of them will avenge there parents death. So dick (a child) and bruce (a teenager) become somewhat friends with tensions and differences. Then Bruce suddenly leaves gotham without anyone knowing (Batman Begins). And then years later after bruce had returned and had become the dark knight, batman is in a footrace to catch a thug that escaped the asylum. And then batman is about to catch the thug, when suddenly someone jumps from the rooftop and topples the thug, that someone is Nightwing. Nightwing then introduces himself to batman saying "hello bruce". Nightwing knew that bruce had become batman from their talks in the past about catching the criminals one day. Batman says "how do you know who i am?" Nightwing responds "oh bruce, you dont remember little old me, how many abandoned orphans do you run into when your young huh bruce?". Then bruce (batman) says "Dick?"
Nightwing says "in the flesh, you didnt think id survive in the narrows did you? Well people also didnt think bruce wayne wouldnt come back after 7 years".

Well guys this is what i have so far, let me know what you think and if i should add more. thanks.

No Robin In Batman!!

I'm gonna start something, Citizens against Robin. lol.

Just kidding.

But i wouldn't mind Richard Greyson in a cameo, but i'm strongly against Robin.

I love him in the comics and cartoons though.

^ take it to the other thread. Try not to post here unless you have actually have something helpful to say about Robin. The idea was that here we can talk about adapting Robin without having to justify him, which never ends :cwink:

I was re-visting the first couple of pages I'm just gonna re-post some designs for the hell of it. The first one has grown on me. They need more green though. I've gone from a costume overhaul advocate to a traditionalist on this. The Robin suit is marvelous - and easily transferable - the way it is. it just needs more detail, more nuance and experimentation with a range of materials. I'm talking pre-Tim Drakes long red pajama suit that is. that thing looks dumb

Can't remember who it was, but someone on these boards came up with these Robin costume concepts based off of the BB League of Shadows ninja garb.

I really like this robin concept

I did this a long time ago but I'm going to reprint it here... this is my Robin

based on The Dark Knight costume.

i like the last one best, but it needs cloth over the armor on the torso, that would be the perfect robin, because why would he have the yellow clips on armor?

So what do you guys think of my idea to bring Dick Grayson into the fold??

I think that idea could work, or maybe beef it up a little more.

I could use some help from you guys, so feel free to lend some ideas.

This is my version of my Nightwing suit i drew up, please tell me what you guys think.

Sorry no color added yet

I just saw Robin's Reckoning on Toon Disney the other night. That right there proves that it can be done, but it needs the right amount of levity.

Another version of my design for Nightwing, no color added. Stealth suit, i like it, tell me what you guys think

Ah! This is pretty cool.

Personally, I dislike the armour plated Robin designs in this thread. I think Robin's classic tunic could be easily adapted as a thick flack jacket; kevlar with ceramic plates. I think it would need to be something a little less high-tech than Batman's suit, as we'd probably want Robin to put it together himself, beginning his field "missions" without Batman's consent.

I completely agree with your idea Saint; they almost approached it that way in Forever.

for god sake nightwing you've already been told once will you stop posting your idea over and over again.
