The Dark Knight Rises Adapting Robin

Eh, I think that Robin could work, but I agree with those that say he should be saved, and his storyline should start in the fourth film.

If done seriously, with Bruce Wayne becoming a father figure to Dick Grayson, it could turn out very well. I think that would be a great arc to explore with Nolan's Bruce Wayne.

I think there actually was a story arc that explored that.

But yeah, strength and size is not always what matters in a fight. Just ask Nathan Jones. :oldrazz:

I know but still, he needs some way to defeat people like Bane.

Btw, isn't the Venom supposed to be like steroids where it lasts for a log time, even if the cord is cut? Everytime we see Bane the plug is pulled from his brain & he gets smaller. Also, is there a limit as to how big Bane can get?

He can overdose on the stuff actually and that's usually how Batman beats him. I'm not sure but I think the whole "pulling the plug" thing only worked in "Batman & Robin". Otherwise you just jack him on the stuff to the point of agony and he's done for.

I think Batman is sufficiently strong enough to beat him hand to hand though. Can't exersize joints and pressure points.

In TAS, there were a bunch of times where Batman pulled the plug. The only time he made him get too much of the venom was when he first appeared in the series. So, how much can Bane take before he'll start to feel pain? Does he need the venom to live or is it something he can live without?

Also, do you know where I could read the issue where Batman was using venom like Bane to make himself bigger?

Here ya go.

I'm honestly not sure how much Bane can take before he blows. I'm not sure if that was ever acknowledged. Just have the thing pump continuously and he'll go nuts. And yeah, at this point, he really can't live without it. He's pretty addicted.

Damn, that's pretty messed up. I originally thought that he should be able to take a lot of venom since he was already buff before they gave him the tubes to his brain.

Btw, thanks for the site.

i have an idea where Boss Zucco is employed under Black Mask, who is trying to rid the city of the "new" criminal element ala joker, two face, scarcrow, and all other nuts

Hey, Savage, I thought that website was to read the comic, not buy. I just want to read it.

I'm dead set against robin, BUT if it had to happen:

His parents death would have to be an accident that was partly batmans fault, its the only way i could see bales batman taking that much sympathy on the kid. and secondly his costume would have to be something like the costume in Kingdom Come

Because as cool as i honestly do think it looks sometimes, i just don't buy the whole "a mask over his eyes means no-one has a clue who he is" thing, not in nolans reality-grounded world at least.

I was going to say it if nobody else did, but you got me.

If Robin is to be portrayed, Red Robin is the only legitimate means there is of doing it. Nolan's world doesn't have the space for an adolescent prancing around to fight crime in a red leotard.

Nolan's taken liberties before, Robin would need a ton of liberties taken in order to be portrayed decently in Nolan's films.

Also, Nolan could just jump straight to Nightwing. Get rid of the little boys and the spandex.

What liberties would these be besides making the character a little older (still in the early teens mind you because a grown man living with Bruce Wayne...well...yeah. I don't think the guy needs a room mate.)?

In TAS, there were a bunch of times where Batman pulled the plug. The only time he made him get too much of the venom was when he first appeared in the series.

Didn't he appear just that one time in the series? then one time in Superman TAS and in the Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman-movie? Doesn't really seem like a bunch of times.

he appeared in the new adventures when Batgirl had that nightmare thingy.

I meant in TB & in TAS. He had the plug pulled from his head more than three times if you add 'em all up from all of the series'.

I'm mainly referring to the childish, goofy nature of Robin, and his suit. His age would only be one.

Oh well I think that one's a given since that Robin was always associated with the cheesy Batman anyway and then they both got deadly serious all of a sudden.

Here's my version of Robin:

Name- Dick Grayson, the original, the one and only.

Age- Somewhere between ages 14 and 17

Origin- Same as the comics, but here's the twist: Bruce didn't attend the circus, thus Dick feels alone and joins a street gang. He meets Bruce, who comes to his defense when Dick is on the run from a rival gang. He lets Dick stay for the night at Wayne Manor. Just when Bruce is asleep, Dick discovers the Batcave by removing a bat from a grandfather clock. The next morning, Bruce takes him out of an juvenile services system when he finds out that it's abusive. Feeling neglected by Bruce, Dick sneaks out of the manor late at night to exact revenge on Tony Zucco. He takes down his men by using his acrobatic skills and streetfighting skills. Batman stops Dick from killing Zucco, telling him "you'll be back to square one". Dick said he wanted to make up for his actions, Bruce felt sympathic and offers him to be his "son", but not before revealing his identity to Dick.

EPILOGUE-

Dick is sitting at a chair at Wayne Manor;looking at a window

DICK(V.O.)
Come on, there's gotta be some inspiration.

Bruce walks into the room

BRUCE
Why are you looking at the window, Dick?

DICK
Trying to find some bats. You can't be Batboy without some inspiration.

BRUCE (laughs)
I doubt you'll find more bats out there than in the cave

DICK
So, no "Batboy"? Then, what will I be?

Just as he says this, a little red robin flew past the window

BRUCE
How about being a "robin"?

DICK
I don't know. That name would encourge bullies to beat me up.

BRUCE
But, being a robin won't so bad, you'll get your own set of wings.

DICK
Ok, fine. Besides I will be like Robin Hood, but I don't have to wear a dumb red hood.

BRUCE
Okay, Dick. You'll be Robin. Good night son.

DICK
Good night, dad.

Costume- Basically this costume, but without the cape:

Instead of an eyemask, Dick would wear hi-tech sunglasses (like the Green Arrow in Smallville.)

But the coolest thing about Robin's suit is that it's not just a costume. It's a "powered suit" that is form fitting and highly responsive (just like Terry's Batsuit in Batman Beyond). This suit conforms to the size and the physique of the wearer. It's very durable and it's resistant to heat, water, electricity, wind and vibrations.

This costume would give Robin the following:

-retractable wings under the arm to glide on

-Built-in cloaking device which renders him nearly invisible

-a two-way radio and surveillance system that allows Robin to keep in constant contact with Batman

-Enhanced ballistic protection

-Built-in rebreahter for underwater combat & exploration

-Dispensable R-shaped shurikens

-Grapple guns built into the forearms

-and some of Batman's gadgets and equipment

Fixed.

I made a Nightwing photo, but im to lazy to upload it. I'll do it tommarow.

sry it my freaking copy machine is a junker and I have to buy a new one. keep you posted

I hope Robin(Dick Grayson) will be in a fourth Batman movie and that it could be released around 2014. That would mark Batman's 75th anniversary much like the original Batman came out in 1989(Batman's 50th). I've always liked Batman with Robin because they make a great team and Robin makes Batman feel like a father figure and I also always liked Robin's colorful costume and his new recent all red costume worn by Tim Drake.

I think that after the third Batman film comes out in 2011 and wraps the Year One story and Christian Bale and Chris Nolan's involvement in it. There will be a fourth Batman movie in 2014(Batman's 75th anniversary of his debut in 1939) starting a Year Two trilogy dealing with Robin's(Dick Grayson's)origins and his relationship with Batman(Bruce Wayne) and perhaps the trilogy could end with Dick becoming Nightwing and bringing in Tim Drake as the new Robin. The other two films in the trilogy could come out in 2017 and 2019(Batman's 80th anniversary).

:brucebat::liz::word::woot:

What Chris Nolan and crew could do is introduce Dick Grayson in the third Batman movie and have Robin appear in the next. By doing things this way, his appearance won't seem rushed.
