Agent Carter Agent Carter General Discussion Thread

I think if any Howling Commandos need to be involved then Dum Dum and Gabe Jones need to be involved, based on their appearance in the One-Shot and reference in AoS, respectively. Plus, Dominic Cooper has said he's willing to continue his role as Howard Stark as a recurring character.

I hope they have JJ Feild's James Montgomery Falsworth become Union Jack after the war.

Marvel swapped Falsworth who was the original Union Jack and Invader for Howling Commando Pinky Pinkerton in the MCU so I figured they might used him to set him or his son Brian up as Union Jack later on.

Can't wait for this. I mentioned it in AOS's Ratings thread (where this show was also being discussed), I wonder if they might be able to throw in an appearance from Winter Soldier - keep him shrouded in mystery, of course, but still... maybe touch on an early assassination.... or two

(look at my avy, I'm a WS fangirl, what can I say :oldrazz:)

This is going to be the greatest thing ever!

I really hope this has more going for it than just being Agents of SHIELD: 1940s Edition.

These two quotes are perfect for each other.

Most of us had high expectations for SHIELD and it failed to deliver until late in the game leading to a lot of speculation it was going to get cancelled.

I hope they learned from that experience and avoid setting up Agent Carter to fail early on.

I think that Agent Carter has a much better chance of succeeding from the get-go, mostly because they won't be hampered by the movies. Agents of SHIELD had the unenviable task of trying to work around two Marvel film releases & figure out how to incorporate them into the show.

With Agent Carter, they can get right to the story they want to tell, especially considering they've revealed how HYDRA was infiltrating SHIELD nearly from its inception.

It helps that this'll have a limited run and won't have 20+ episodes per season, makes it easier for them to focus on what kind of stories they want to tell and the goals they've set up.

Here is the description
Marvel’s Agent Carter,” starring “Captain America’s” Hayley Atwell follows the story of Peggy Carter. It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life – Steve Rogers. Inspired by the feature films “Captain America: The First Avenger” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” along with the short “Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter.” “Marvel’s Agent Carter” stars Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter. Executive producers are Michele Fazekas & Tara Butters, Steve McFeely & Christopher Marcus, and Jeph Loeb.

Markus and McFeeley (the writers for both Captain America movies and now the pilot episode of Agent Carter) have said the plan is for a limited 13-episode season that takes place over one year. If any subsequent seasons were ordered, it'd follow the model of season one. Sounds like ABC is using this series as a filler series between the fall and spring seasons of Agents of SHIELD so there are fewer reruns.

Ick. I guess I'll give it a shot, but I don't see this show doing well.

This is definitely my favorite surprise pick up of the season. I say surprise because it had a relatively quiet development to where I figured there wasn't much heat on it.

I'm really looking forward to this series!

A spy show set during the Cold War, in an agency infiltrated in it's formative years by Hydra, featuring Peggy Carter (Haley Atwell, yum) and maybe Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) and could see what happened with the Howling Commandos post-WW2?

Sign me the heck up!

Agent Carter should be much more focused than AoS with the smaller amount of episodes.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of Howard Stark.

Atwells rack will have me tune in.

Yeah, that's how I felt too. Every time this got mentioned by Feige & Co. as a possibility, my first thought was always, "that would be cool if it ever actually happened...which it won't." So this pick-up has been such a pleasant surprise to me.

I respectfully disagree

None of the netflix stuff is any farther

Anyone have a good picture of her in the red dress

??? disagree with what?

a Few months ago alittle after the one-shot was out, the WRITERS started on the scripts, we just hadn't heard a whole lot from ABC, Disney OR Marvel about Agents Carter.
The Netflix stuff isn't in the same media if you ask me. They're more like films straight to dvd

I wish they were doing more than 13 eps but I'll take it.
