So...thoughts on what night this will air? ABC doesn't usually have two franchises in the same universe at once so I dont know if they will pair it with AoS.

Wrote this in the other Agent Carter thread, but I thought I'd re-post here...

My wishlist
* Howard Stark as a series regular. Dominic Cooper has expressed serious interest stating he'd definitely be up for it. Based on his comments, I think they might have already signed Cooper behind the scenes.

* Howling Commandos! A press release in the near future stating "Kenneth Choi, Derek Luke, JJ Feild, Bruno Ricci and Neal McDonough reprise their roles as members of Captain America's Howling Commandos in Marvel's Agent Carter on ABC..." would have me absolutely leaping for joy. Someone look up what those actors are up to these days.

* Tommy Lee Jones. I know, he might be too big a star to "slum it" on network TV, but even a few guest appearances would be awesome.

* Random Winter Soldier attacks interspersed here and there. Wouldn't want him to be a constant threat, but possibly an enigmatic enemy that shows up when least expected and causes havoc. The dynamic would be wonderful since the audience would know exactly what's going on, but the show's SHIELD agents would be completely in the dark. Though, this could be saved for season 2.

* The "rehabilitation" of one Dr. Arnim Zola, planting seeds of corruption in SHIELD's core. Again, could be saved for season 2.

* Agent Carter sub-forum on SuperHeroHype. :)

Most of the rumors seem to state that it'll run during the mid-season break of AOS. I, personally, would absolutely love that.

* First 11 episodes of AOS season 2
* 10 to 13 episodes of Agent Carter
* Final 11 episodes of AOS season 2

I think it would be an excellent strategy as well since there were a lot of complaints about the constant one-on-two-off pattern that AOS had fallen into a few months back. The AOS ratings showed some tangible dips coming off of various breaks. This way, you hook viewers with (say) 35 straight weeks of pre-SHIELD/post-SHIELD goodness. :)

i think its too early for Stark to find out about Hydra or to be killed off..
This might focus probably on the Zodiac for the first season.. Zola might be seen getting a pardon, or recruiting some Hydra scientists

Maybe they will have Jake Fury as the head of Zodiac and the father/uncle of Nick

Well Atwells, Agent Carter character has already been established as being a likable and believable heroine, so it has that in it's favor.

There is not one character on Agents of Shield that i like; i gave it about 6 episodes and just couldn't stomach it anymore. It made me not care what had happened to Agent Coulson during the events of The Avengers. I would go as far as to say, that the show imo has tainted the universally liked character of Agent Coulson. Shame too, because the Marvel brand is hotter than ever right now.

So long as they keep the focus on Peggy, and don't pair her with annoying characters just for comic relief it should do just fine.

In other words, you ditched AOS before it actually started getting good? You do yourself and the show a disservice by not checking out the second half of the season. I agree that AOS had an unforgivably slow start out of the gate, but the show really picks up steam around Ep. 10 onward, and is absolutely riveting right now.

It didn't take Game of Thrones six episodes to start getting good. It didn't take Mad Men, the Sopranos, Community, or any show I have spent years watching actually. :funny:

Nearly everything in entertainment is subjective though - I tried watching Mad Men from the beginning a few years back & I couldn't get into it after 5 episodes. I've watched the first episode of Game of Thrones twice (two years apart from each viewing)... but nothing about that first episode makes me want to watch any more of the show.

And it's not that I'm opposed to liking dramas - The Wire (a notoriously slow starting show) hooked me from the very beginning. Sometimes things click for certain people, sometimes they don't... to each his (or her) own.

Some series can take an entire season to get better. Cheers is probably the best example of a show that vastly improved in quality and ratings and went on for a decade after nearly getting the axe in its first year.

But you don't need to stick with a series for a whole year waiting for it to get better.

There is a big difference between getting better, from going to a good to great show. Buffy is a fine example of this. The first 5 episodes of AOS were mediocre to bad. I stopped it was so blah. Considering the ratings, most did.

Exactly.

That is well and good. But considering the reviews, praise, awards and viewership, the quality of those shows are battle tested and have not left their audiences and critics wanting.

So you write off a series and refuse to rewatch it after everyone tells you has gotten better so you can maintain your justification that it sucks instead?

It depends on who is telling me it has gotten better and how much better it has become. I have plenty of high quality television to watch. In 2014 it is no longer necessary to watch mediocre television. Network television dramas that rise to the quality of HBO, Showtime FX, Netflix and AMC programming is almost nonexistent.

Also the AOS crowd here isn't exactly the most reliable narrator. A heavy Marvel fan feel, who want it to succeed because of where it comes from, not necessarily based on how good it actually is.

Anyone have an Idea what Font that is they used in the art?

If we followed an "only continuing shows" rule that doesn't allow for event shows, none of the Netflix shows should have a forums. Right now Agent Carter is guaranteed as many episodes as any of those.

Someone else can confirm, but I suspect this forum existed before AoS got its back nine as well. I get that there's fewer comic book things to rely on, but that doesn't mean there aren't things worth discussing. The only reason I can think against it is that there's a break in AoS right at the time it airs, but that hardly seems like good enough by its own.

if I remember correctly the producers said if their ratings do well they would consider a 2nd series. again 13 episodes.

they are a fan of one big villian through the season.

My hope is each season is an "event" so to speak and they jump ahead a little bit each time. Maybe 40s for one, 50s for the next, 60s if they get a third season. Unfortunately, I don't think the synergy would quite work, but I'd love to have a young Hank Pym involved, but the movie would air during season 2 if my math is correct, but I think young Pym would be more 60s.

This show looks awesome! I love the idea of a shortened series with a single plot. It would have helped AOS if they could have trimmed down some of the filler episodes and just focused on the Centipede/Clairvoyant/HYDRA storyline. I would love to see Zodiac as some sort of evil cult or something similar. Also, This show needs it's own section. It already got a full season run, so what's the hold up?

I absolutely LOVE the idea of Agent Carter filling the winter gap for SHIELD, as was originally reported-

SHIELD from September-December
Agent Carter from January-March
SHIELD from March-May

This way, there's only one long break as opposed to this season, and Agent Carter fills it out so we don't have to suffer for three months. Plus the lower episode count, as others have said, allows the show to be more tightly plotted, and hopefully allows a bigger per episode budget. Annnd it leaves Atwell with time to do movies or other projects when she's not doing the show. I really hope that's what they go with and not just "ABC's tuesday night Agents block"

Made a wallpaper and cleaned up an old SSR eagle. I can't seem to find the one I made back with First Avenger

This show is perfect to introduce Jimmy Woo and maybe some other Agents of ATLAS

Yeah and I still think an intro to SGT. Fury of the Howling Commandos this era's Nick Fury's dad.
My idea was since Steve's in ice, SGT. Fury is chosen to lead the Howling Commandos because of similar tactical skills to Steve's

Looks like Agent Carter is a mid season replacement.

Not all that Surprising I was actually expecting it. Airing Agent Carter inbetween Breaks of Agents of Shield is a good idea. Agents of Shield would probably only need 1 break

Why isn't Agent Crter have it's own section? Gotham already does.
We don't have an exact date yet. We DO have two threads tho. One here and one in the Marvel Films section

Oh, we do have exact dates for the netflix series now? Have I missed something?

Yeah, there are no exact dates for any of the Netflix series, especially not the later ones like the Defenders, Luke Cage or Iron Fist. DD is vaguely sometime in the next year, with JJ to follow afterwards. None of those even have any casting, whereas Agent Carter already has its star attached, and some potential recurring/ regular roles as well.
