Yeah, no pilot, and just the one-shot isn't really a whole lot to go on.

Find it a bit odd that Marvel/ABC went for a short, 8-episode season instead of the 13-episode season that Markus and McFeeley said was the initial offering/plan.

To answer a couple of questions posed above...

Either Markus or McFeeley said in an interview that the plan was to explore one story with one villain in 13 or less episodes, and that it would be set in 1946. He also said that if the people liked it, they would come back with another similar season set one year later in 1947.

Though, I was a little surprised (pleasantly) to learn that the season would be limited to 8 episodes. I'm thinking it would be tight and packed with story beats without any filler.

Isn't that about how long we had to wait for the AoS winter break tho? Might just be the lack of time permitted between the break

Here's the breakdown of how the breaks for AoS played out over the season, if it helps:

That's more than 8 weeks.

No more Winter Olympics this year!! :argh: (even though it's only once every four years)

Well, for the winter break, since that's when Agent Carter will air during AoS season 2, if we consider December - January as "winter break" season (since Feb., in non-Winter-Olympic years, is typically a sweeps month), it had about 6 weeks or so of a 'winter break' during season 1.

The other thing to remember about season 1 is it had both Thor: The Dark World to coincide with as well as Winter Soldier (couldn't have episode 8 happening before TDW, and couldn't have episodes 17-22 happening before Winter Soldier).

This time around, Guardians of the Galaxy will already be out in theaters before season 2 even starts so they don't have to try and wiggle the schedule around to fit whatever tie in they have (if they're going to have some type of tie-in) with that, leaving only Age of Ultron to make sure they line up with, which will likely be at the tail end of the season with maybe only a couple episodes occurring after that movie.

I feel pretty confident that we won't have *quite* as many breaks as season 1 had, and with Agent Carter filling in a good chunk of what break there will be should make things more tolerable :)

Hope that all made sense (sorry if it didn't)

Exactly, This season will pretty much dovetail in between the movies, meaning they can deal with the repercussions from GOTG with out forcing it into the story line, which honestly I'm not sure exactly how much of that film will affect a newly rebuilt SHIELD on earth. The end part of the season will likely have some build up to AOU, though.

So potentially only a maximum of 4-5 weeks of break

I'm sure there will be a break for most of December, so that will probably eat up 3 or 4 weeks of breaks. And it is probably safe to assume that the AoS episode after the Agent Carter episode will be a repeat in an attempt to catch up the audience.

Looking at the calendar, I'd assume there'd be a new episode of AoS on Dec. 2, 2014 with repeats on the 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th. Agent Carter will probably start on January 6th, 2015 and run for 8 episodes until February 24, 2015. AoS will probably repeat on March 3, 2015 and have *mostly* new episodes for the remainder of the year.

Over the weekend I read a bunch of stuff that suggests that AC will now air at 8PM, the hour before AoS.

Anyone else have any confirmation on this?

ABC confirmed this themselves.

So, AC will NOT be a mid-season replacement for AoS? It will air in September?

it will air in the same timeslot as Agents of SHIELD in between Agents of SHIELD'S fall and Winter Break.

With Namor back at Marvel, who's hoping we see alittle something of him in Agent Carter?

^

And also, Borys Kit from The Hollywood Reporter (which is about as credible as it gets) stated pretty much categorically on Twitter that Marvel and not Universal has the rights to Namor.

I hope they continue the pace and tone they started in the One-Shot of Agent Carter in which we see her as a field agent woman .

An interview video with Hayley Atwell where she talks a little about the show:

So there will be different enemies each episode as well as an overarching baddie behind it all. I kind of thought that's how it would pan out, but niceto get some confirmation.
