Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. - S02E09 "Ye Who Enter Here"

Here's a youtube version of that clip (if anyone has problems viewing it at spoiler tv)

So, the city is underneath San Juan, Puerto Rico, and it looks like the entrance they pointed out is in Palacio de Santa Catalina, which was built in 1540.

Anyone know anything of the history in the area before that, or were the Europeans the first ones to keep a record of what they were up to?

In regards to Coulson's "we'll blow the hell out of it" comment, I was thinking that in lieu of the hardware necessary to accomplish that feat, an unexpected earthquake would probably do the trick. ;)

In that case they'd better run fast or they'll be pushing up daisy's ..

And I know who just might cause that if they go that route...

Oh, a Daisy could be BIG factor I could imagine... :D

Not sure about before the Europeans, but the city's founder, Spanish conquistador Ponce de Leon, explored the island thoroughly, looking for "gold" (and apparently found quite a bit). Later, he explored Florida, supposedly (as posthumous legends tell) in search of the Fountain of Youth.

What I'm trying to figure out is the connection between a Kree city under Puerto Rico, and a Kree pilot/artifact outside of a Hunan village. Was he just way off course?

I'll admit, my thought was "Yeah... because SHIELD just burying stuff has worked so well before (seems like they're just as likely to cause problems that way)." Though on second thought, I'm not sure Coulson really has any other option at this point.

You could say that would be an earth-shattering revelation, but then SHIELD always has been a mover-and-shaker. (But seriously, I'm not convinced that's who she is. Would be cool to see though.)

Given that SHIELD are now so small, he cannot hold and defend the city, he has to take what he can and destroy the city

Personally I'm not convince Skye is ... wink wink say no more, but it would make for a ground breaking mid season finale.

I still think Skye is a new character, possibly an amalgamation of a few comic book characters
Interestingly, following the suggestion that Skye = DJ - There's so much about DJ that reminds me of Terra (DC) character

My thought is, the Kree pilot was certainly heading to the Hunan Prov, in search of "The Key", before going to the city under the Caribbean Island in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

bit of eye action at the end.

Yeah, Bobbi and Mac gave each other a look at the end of that clip. I don't think they're down with Coulson's plan to blow up the underground city.

Now that I think about it, that underground city looks quite large, so if they blow it up, what happens to San Juan above it?

If it's the Inhumans, they have a history of moving their city when they feel they're about to be discovered by humans.

In the comics, they moved it from the Himalayas to the far side of the moon when the humans rapidly advanced their technological capabilities to the point where they might detect them.

Maybe they were under Puerto Rico originally, then moved to the Himalayas when Ponce de Leon got too curious, then moved to the far side of the moon after WW2, where they're still hidden from sight.

flooded maybe, some of it below sea, san juan built above sea level so should be grand. Last week Some justifiable suspicion on here about mac and hunter said a line to bobbi about thinking she has something in play and needing allies. After last season they are probably going to take the piss out of the audience with a lot of false flags but still

Just me, or did Coulson finally sound like Avengers-era Coulson for the first time in the show?
"Good question, no" and other lines like that were snappy and on point, just like before he went crazy :)

Hmmm.....interesting theory. I can see that....does make sense in a way.

Can we fast forward to 9 pm already. These friggin breaks I tell ya

Clearly May has been a better S.O. to Skye than Ward ever was and/or Skye has definitely been taking her training/lessons to heart since end of last season.

Skye is turning in to quite the little badass.
