Perhaps its not blood at all on his hands.

Flowers: I know you thought you'll never see me again.

????? so Flowers and mystery bloody hand skye's father met before?

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Baby!
2 things
-" i dress like i live under a bridge!"
-" you were never on top!"
does it get any better than that! hahaha freaking awesome!!

Thought it was a great episode, but I thought we would have gotten a little more information on Skye aside from the final reveal. Nice little surprises and the noisemaker! So good.

I thought Garrett would be coming back after being put in the box, and even though it was funny with him becoming Deathlok only to get disintegrate, I was hoping he was a lock for season 2. I'm guessing the carvings that both Garrett and Coulson made could be what leads the Kree to Earth?

Thought Fury acknowledging Coulson as an Avenger was great and touching.

I don't know why but i was kinda figuring Fitz was going to die.

Had they revealed everything about Skye, then there would be no need for a season 2. The great thing about season 2 is that they don't need to waste half the season building a mystery when they have already built the mystery nicely.

The blue Kree juice they took did something to them, whether that be transferring bits of memory or consciousness from the alien to them, or if the alien truly is Kree (and we think it is), it could have connected them to what Marvel Comics readers may know as the Kree Supreme Intelligence – a massive super-computer of sorts helping lead the Kree empire on their homeworld, built from the greatest minds of their people. Recall: Raina says to Ward that Garrett is “connected now” after he goes full-on crazy in the finale.

Aha!! WHAT an episode!! I had so many freak out moments! My favorite one yet! :D It was just perfect

Loved it!

Garrett got what was coming to him.

Ward got a dose of what was coming to him.

Coulson got his Destroyer gun back.

SHIELD begins anew, under the watchful eye of Coulson.

Koenig lives! (Sort of)

Fury saves the Wonder Twins!

Man I can't wait for new episodes this fall! Gonna be a long, long summer.

That was the best 30 second moment any TV series has had in the past three years!
That was so hilarious! Loved it! I was thinking "oh no, here we go again" and then BAM!

:wow:

Look at those symbols above the window! They look just like this:

http://logonoid.com/images/x-men-logo.jpg

Skye's dad is sitting in a chair in the X-Mansion and he's bloody. Clearly he's Charles Xavier: Murderer Version! :o

Seriously, though, it's interesting that this scene involving characters born different, particularly Raina (who's very curious about the next stage of human evolution), has the whole circle X thing going on in the background. It's likely nothing, but still a fun coincidence.

Bullet Points:

Intrigued by the symbols

Fitzsimmons made me get watery eyed.

Ward-May fight was classic Whedon.

Phil/Fury dialogue was also classic Whedon.

Fitz got Cordelia'd. :(

Garret's false return was fantastic.

Got vibes for a potential Deathlok spinoff setup. Web series maybe?

Intrigued by Sky.

Sky's dad will be an interesting mystery. I expect us to figure it out within a month though.

I'd like to start with the only 2 things I did like with this episode. Deathlok and Garrett, as both are very well done in mimicking their comic book counterparts. Garrett especially at the end when his entire body was encased in cybernetics, is how he appeared in the comic books.

Now onto what I didn't like, which was basically everything else:

Nick Fury

Obviously everyone was excited to see him in the episode and knew he was coming, however when it was time to integrate him into the story it seemed very cut and paste. It felt like Sam Jackson just woke up, strolled on to set for 1 hour for 2 scenes and shot the rest in front of a green screen and called it a day.

I know he is "dead" but why didn't he just put the eyepatch back on, he's not fooling anyone with his "disguise".

I'd like to preface this with the fact that I'm not a film major or editor of any sort, but many of the scenes with Nick Fury were horribly edited. I think this is most likely because Sam Jackson is super famous and would only stick around for a very minimal amount of shooting. You could tell the entire scene where Coulson and Fury are having their back and forth banter in front of Garrett and Dethlok was shot completely separate. The editing makes it obvious Sam Jackson was never in the same room as Bill Paxton. Most of Sam Jackson's scenes were like this, I could go on, but you get the point.

LMD's

If Koenig is an LMD then WTF? Why wouldn't higher level shield Agents have their own LMD? Why wouldn't Victoria Hand or Coulson have an LMD or at the very least Fury, so he wouldn't of had to go through everything that happened in Cap 2? I thought the point of Coulson discovering Tahiti was to dismiss the notion that LMD's actually existed. Yes, Tony does mention LMD's in Avengers but it could have just been a nod to fanboys.

Aliens, Inhumans, etc.

I thought their was going to be some sort of lead in to Guardians of the Galaxy, big disappointment. We've already seen the alien scrawling's by Coulson and Garrett previously, it's obviously due to the alien blood they both received. Ok, great, we get it. I was hoping something more would be addressed with Garrett acquiring what seemed to be low level cosmic awareness, perhaps from the Kree super-intelligence. I guess I was expecting too much to wish for some sort of Captain Marvel or Mahr Vel tie in.

I think the Inhuman angle is very possible in explaining Skye's history and all the talk of "evolution". I actually like that aspect as well, however we will probably not have a clear answer about Inhumans for quite some time as there has not been any announcements for an Inhumans movie yet.

Lastly, why did they have to tease the villain as bloody hand guy? There are so many great villains in the Marvel universe they could have used to tease the next season. I would have been 10x more amped for season 2 if the girl in the flower dress would have walked into the room and placed the photo of Skye in what seemed to be a normal person's hand, then the camera zooms out and you see a giant head, obviously revealing MODOK.

Overall the episode should have been much better, especially for a season finale. Just my two cents.

Dude. Raina believed Garrett was the clarvoiyant and was disturbed he wasn't... Soooooooo what are you saying... Rains new the real clarvoiyant all along but faked her belief in Garret? Why?

The guy in the chair was Skye's father who would be either kree, inhuman, kree/human, etc.

that is exactly right. Clairvoyant is the villain of season 1 and he is dealth with. Skye's father is gonna be the villain in season 2, or maybe season 3 considering they might bring another villain in that ties into AoU.

here is my speculation:

obviously Raina is trying to transform or stay alive in an 'invasion'. she wants to know what her fate will become when Garrett's plan comes to fruition, which i think has something to do with Quinn creating 'super soliders' aka 'Aliens, and the codes written by Garrett/Phil may be the solution or the reason for Skye's parents to visit Earth...

I think we'll get a direct Guardians tie in within the first month of season two.

Agents of Shield Producers Discuss Season 1's Finale and What to Expect in Season 2

One interesting answer was this.
IGN: [Laughs] Okay, okay. We also now see that Skye’s father is alive. Would this be something we could assume, based on that reveal, would be tackled pretty early on going forward?

Loeb: That’s certainly one of the ongoing stories that we'll talking about -- her origins and her parents and things like that... Here's what we're pretty sure of: when people hear the story, they'll be surprised.

Guardians comes out before the next season starts, right? I'm guessing that the concept of aliens will be a part of the first half of the season...maybe the midseason Agent Carter will explain the origins of the dead Kree...and then the second half of the season will be based around Avengers 2.

I stay away from all spoilers regarding this show and my goodness seeing Nick Fury really surprised me! I couldn't believe it for a moment! This episode was fantastic, the show really has become an important part of the MCU!

So, the Kree is a thing in the MCU now, I hope we get Carol Danvers soon.

Just like we figured out Garret was The Clairvoyant?
""It's The Leader!"

She would have fit into this show so perfectly that it seems like they had to work around NOT including her. That tells me that they are planning something for the films.

Yeah, you're right. I could see her being in the "new Shield" and her origins basically being on AOS which will lead to her being in Avengers 3 or something. So, hopefully she's in S2.

One of the positives with this show connecting to MCU is that (at least this summer) a whole slew of MCU news will keep us talking, and before we know it, it's the start of season two.
