She could still double-cross him. There's still one episode left. Raina's one of the most interesting characters on this show.

I think she's fascinated by things that are strange or paranormal. This was just an example of that.

Even though she has qualms with Garrett, he is also her boss. Testing to see if it works is one example of that.

I think she's playing everyone
She's got secrets

Ward obviously shot the dog. He couldn't do it face to face, but he could from a distance. It mirrors the way he "kills" FitzSimmons. He probably couldn't have shot them, but he can press a few buttons on a keypad while looking away.

And I don't think he gave any thought to the idea they'd survive. People keep saying "there's so many ways out of that!" but that's because we're trained by TV/Movie logic. We have that real world perspective of knowing they'll find a way out, but from his perspective, they're as good as dead.

Also, I do see a redemptive path for Ward as possible, but a very, very long one. Something like Spike in Buffy. I could see him coming and going over multiple seasons, bouncing back and forth between bad, less bad, a bit of good, back to bad, etc. Black Widow's apparently done worse, and she's on the Avengers! And we know Joss loves redemption arcs (even Dollhouse, [BLACKOUT]Alpha's a psycho serial killer, they do a flash-forward finale and apparently he's super besties with everyone and a really nice guy.[/BLACKOUT]).

That's exactly what I'm expecting.

She didn't "test" it. She said that she gave him her ONLY dose. It was her meaning in life to unlock these secrets...and she gave it to a guy who deceived her, and who she is probably going to double cross soon.

i still think she should be the MCU version of Nekra.

I posted this therory back in January in the "who is the clairvoyant" thread
this could still be true and be the lead in for the return of Red skull and Winter soldier
in Cap 3

"Centipede=Roxxon=the Brand corp.

the Clairvoyant= Alexsander lukin(roxxon owner)=Red Skull (consciousness trapped in Lukin )

Skull wants to know how Coulson was brought back to life so he can Bring himself Back. "

See-

I'm still holding to my theory that Thomas Nash was the real Clairvoyant, and will return ("magically!" :oldrazz:) at the end of the season finale; but you could be onto something. In case you didn't realize, the Brand Corporation itself *was* referenced in last night's episode as one of the files at Cybertek. There was also a file for Metrobank. The Brand Corporation, Metrobank, and Cybertek are all subsidiaries of Roxxon in the comics.....but you already knew this. :cwink:

Ward obviously shot the dog.

OMG....Ward did *not* shoot the damn dog! :argh:
If he was so wuss that he couldn't shoot the dog face to face, then why the hell take the extra steps of walking up TO the dog, firing a pistol in the air to chase it off, then walking all the way back to a sniper position to finish it off? Just to brag about it? :BA If he wanted to snipe the dog, he would've sniped the dog to begin with.

Garrett had the rifle. They broke camp; Garrett picked up the rifle; said, "Oh yeah, kill Buddy....you got a problem with that?" Then went back to set up a sniper position on the poor dog when he surmised correctly that Ward would wuss out. Cut and dried....this ain't that hard to figure out.

Its O.K. regardless of who fired the fatal shot (cough... Garrett), because Buddy was an LMD. :oldrazz:

So Ward was a bit of a problem child,eh?:woot:

As soon as he left Ward with the Dog,I knew Ward was gonna have to Old Yeller him.I'm glad he didn't do it.There is still good in him.Garrett hasn't driven it from him fully.:woot: I really like the Emperor/Vader relationship they have.

Cool of Tripp to share his grandaddy's toys.:woot:

I feel bad for Fitz.He wants his pal back.:csad:

May & Coulson undercover was cute.

It'll be interesting seeing what happens to Garrett from here.

FitzSimmons were able to open the door from their side, right? They aren't able to do so now? Sorry, I know very little about airtight containers...

We are not exactly aware what was the box they were dropped in... I would imagine quarrell between Fitz and Simmons whether Ward is good or bad basing on the fact that they will be able to rescue themselves - e.g. the box is fully "floatable" (which would make a lot of sense - if it is some kind of the transport container, it would be nice not to be afraid of losing any precious cargo inside). The box can sink for a moment (effect of being dropped from some height) and then float on the surface (plus Fitz beacon). Of course in "real life" they would be dead (or seriously wounded) because of mere hit into the water but this is the TV series...

"About a dog" - it was done on purpose the way it was done: both options are still likely so we can debate ;-).

Probably the confrontation will be Deathlok vs Garrett
I bet on the redemption of Peterson and the final transormation in the original Deathlok losing an arm and part of his face. Maybe taken secretly by Cybertek after the final fight

Deathlok has the metal under his face already...they are just showing him with fake skin over it.

Fake burnt skin? If they're going to put fake skin over it, why not healthy skin?

I think the plate is only over the other half (the half that has the plate in the comics), but I could be wrong.

The healthy looking skin is over the metal side. On the subject of Raina she did mention she had something in common with Skye and Garrett mentioned there's something unsettling about her. Something about her eyes so I'm expecting some very interesting revelations about her and wouldn't be surprised if she has more to do with what is going on than she's letting on.

Yeah, there's hundreds of Buddy' s that are specifically made for Hydra training.

Another strong episode, but not as good as recent weeks. Felt a lot like a positioner for the season finale; splitting up the team, installing Ward as a cold hearted £%$ and putting the Guest House drug (or variant) into Garrett

Loved the humour in this ep. The filing cabinet and the old Howling Commandos stuff were particular highlights, and FitzSimmons quandary was nicely handled. Great way to show that Ward is evil, and it was nice to spend some time with him and Garrett. Also loved the Borg Deathloks, cool shot

As to how Raina developed the drug, I'm still not sure, but I suppose it is doable. Lots of questions, and hopefully some answers (Garrett's fate, Guest House, Skye's lineage and more still to go) in the final episode! Can't believe this season is almost over :|

Buddy is Garrett's version of Pavlov's dogs for Ward.

Now that you mention it, the Borg probably look more like Deathlok than Mike Peterson does in his extremely generic black top and slacks and Laser Tag vest.

well, they want his son to accept him and not fear him (someday in the end), so most of his alterations are under the skin

Oh I forgot to add my standard Tripp should be a regular part of the team. I enjoyed Son of Coul's freak-out at the WW2 gear :D

Tripp is probably going to die at the beginning of next week's episode. He was strangely absent from the promo (though this isn't a verdict, it seems to imply it). My guess is he'll sacrifice himself to help Coulson, May, and Skye escape from the Extremis soldiers.

Coulson's freaking out over the gadgets was in my top 3 favorite moments of this episode though. Gotta love a fellow geek!

Nooooooooo :csad:

I hope not. Besides, you'd all be disappointed if I didn't mention it every week :woot: Right? RIGHT? *tumbleweed*
