It hasn't been confirmed, but it sounds feasible. You may be on to something.

One of the better episodes. Better acting from some could have made it even better.

7/10

I get the impression that Maynard might be his brother, too....an older, bullying, psychotic one. Willing to bet we'll see/hear more about the well incident.

Maynard is his brother. It's the same brother he talked to Skye about in a past episode. The one who he had to constantly defend his little brother against. Something about a birthday cake.

And there you go.

One of cherokeesam's wild-ass theories, proven correct again! bwahahaha :oldrazz:

Ah I see thanks for that, but be that as it may I'm willing to bet in today's day and age with the technology we have that many dont watch live and turn to either DVR, On Demand, or downloading eps online with torrents. So some popularity could go unnoticed or unaccounted for due to those outlets. I'm usually bad at catching shows when they air and would almost always find them online to watch a few hours later back when my computer was working.

With that being said I'm curious to see if the Thor name dropping before the episode helped the ratings, my guess would be yes but nothing too crazy.

The moral of the story is if you want your viewing to count watch live. :woot:

Here is something else they have that looks useful:

The show is currently safe and should be renewed unless ratings resume their previous downward trend.

I really didnt think much of this episode, the quality has unfortunately dipped in the last couple of episodes to me, I just thought this didnt seem to mesh well with the world they have established in previous episodes, 5/10, hope it picks up again soon as didnt enjoy last weeks episode either.

Hmm, I didn't really get that at all. In fact, I felt that this episode was the most Marvel of all of the episodes yet. Felt like it fit perfectly into the universe whereas many of the others felt off. I didn't feel that the humor was overdone like in the last episode and they had some really nice character moments. All in all, this was a fantastic episode in my opinion.

Live and same-day up to 3 AM DVR viewing are counted in the Nielsen overnights. However, if you don't have a Nielsen meter(s) in your home your viewing doesn't count towards the ratings at all, no matter when you watch. Regular cable boxes and satellite setups don't report to the ratings company.

Ratings confuse me haha. And all the Nielsen stuff makes me just think of Family Guy lol. I'm willing to bet this show is more popular than numbers can account for though. But I also don't think this show is going to be in any danger of cancellation or not getting renewed. And in my eyes it's been getting much better an much more interesting every week.

It also helps that it's not on Fox,which has a notoriety for giving the quick ax.

I wish Fox would give the quick ax to the Fantastic Four reboot, and let it revert to Marvel. Sorry, just had to say that, now back to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

With AOS's numbers even Fox wouldn't cancel it. The show is doing fairly well for the tough time slot ABC gave it, and the ratings slide has stopped. I honestly don't see it getting canceled, though some executive meddling from above is definitely possible.

The professor said the rage wouldn't wear off until after a decade or so, so I really hope we see Angry Ward from now on. I expected them to come up with some fix so he'd be back to normal for the next episode, but they didn't. So yeah, I hope this development sticks around. I like him better this way.

Agreed. Pissed Ward is more fun than stoic Ward. Especially when he tells Skye to shut up. That needs to happen more often.

I loved that! The stupid, stunned look on Skye's face was priceless. It needed to be said because the second she appeared on camera this week she kept talking talking talking and saying not a damned thing of consequence. Unfortunately, the writer only shut Skye up briefly. She was right back to blathering a few minutes later.

Another thing I liked was that Ward turned down Skye's offer to talk when they met in the bar. Instead, he ended up in May's bed because neither one of them is fond of talking about feelings. They didn't need sympathy, they needed comfort.

Th SpoilerTV site has an interesting bit of info: Episode 8/The Well was originally scheduled to be Episode 7, but ABC ordered the producers to switch them so that more people could see Thor: TDW first.

That changes the way Ward & Fitz's interaction in Ep. 7 played out. Ward reassured Fitz that he and Simmons both know that Fitz would have saved her. That goes from being a sort of non sequitur to a semi-apology for the way Ward attacked Fitz in this week's episode.

Yeah I'm gonna have to rewatch "The Hub" now to see it the way it was meant to be. And to see if Angry Ward's development stuck around.

Sorry, the thread is rather long and there is just one thing I need to get off my chest: Has anyone else watched Dollhouse? Another Whedon show, the way Coulson asked his Tahitian masseuse "Did I fall asleep?" is shockingly similar to the way the brainwashed dolls in dollhouse always ask it every time their memory is wiped.

My new theory is that whatever happened to Coulson, his memory of it was intentionally removed afterwards.

EDIT: Okay, read the thread. It has been mentioned before, *Phew*. Just wanted to get that off my chest since I just watched the episode.

Most fans assume that "Tahiti" is an implanted memory meant to prevent Coulson from discovering what really happened to him. "Tahiti is a magical place" is his conditioned response whenever the subject of his death and resurrection comes up. The conditioning has been wearing off with each repetition, however, and now Coulson realizes that he was never in Tahiti. That's why that pleasant dream scared him so much: He knows it is a lie and that terrifies him.
