I think they can afford to do it as I really feel Agent 13 is around the corner, and there still may be others coming with her...

I think so too, and if Agent 13 & Maria Hill are featured as regular characters I think that could be an interesting dynamic for a revamped AoS cast if they put characters like Mockingbird, Hunter, Deathlok & Skye together as the core cast for a spinoff team show.

The new show is going to need a different premise or it will be redundant. I was really hoping for an Avengers Academy show but I will support thiS show. My hope is that they will add Agent 13, Clay Quartermain and Jimmy Woo to the cast if these two leave. There will definitely need to be new blood.

I'd like to see characters like Jimmy Woo, Clay Quartermain, GW Bridge, Leiko Wu, Abigail Brand, etc all show up. Also villains like Taskmaster, Madame Masque, Madame HYDRA, The Ghost, etc.

I didn't like how the show portrayed Bobbi as too much of a badass. She was holding her own in a fight against a Kree. It was ridiculous, really. Bringing Ward back on the team would be a huge mistake. It's too soon.

She didnt hold her own against a Kree, she stalled, then used the Kree's weapon to take down the Kree.

I do agree, something is off about the way Mockingbird is portrayed on AoS.

I also think that the spinoff smells of a deal struck before AP signed on for AoS

Yikes, Bobbi and Hunter show? Not excited about this at all. Not sure what they could bring to tv that AoS doesn't already cover. Keep them with AoS and do something with the inhumans, Gordon, Jiang, Lincoln etc, or something with Deathlok.

I would honestly prefer Ward and Agent 33 over Bobbi and Hunter. They bring an interesting anti hero quality to the show. Vegeta/Xena vibe.

The thing about Ward is that he's not evil per se. They make that point pretty explicit. He's just really messed up in the head.

Ward is a sociopath. There's no way to deny that. He isn't a lovable rogue like Lance Hunter (who is more of the Han Solo type: heart of gold but no problems killing under serious circumstances).

That being said, Ward also isn't Hydra, he doesn't have an agenda, and I do think he'd fight for the ones he cares about. Credit to the writers for not backing down on the implications of last season. Garrett's death didn't cure the underlying problems he has. But I think he's too much of an interesting, complex character to dismiss as "evil" in the same category as Hydra.

I don't dismiss him as evil and I like the character. I do think he has an agenda, which is his own. He is not Hydra, he will play all sides to get what he wants. What that is at the moment is not clear. But if he had to he would leave Agent 33 for dead and not bat an eyelid.

But having said that. That is what most spies are. They are not good guys. They will make deals with terrorists to meet their goals.
