But another beef I have is that I can't see him as an Alfred that would care to handle a scarred Bruce Wayne as a boy. With Brosnan, he can be a great father figure when given the role. Alfred needs that sensitivity. I can't see that in Rickman.

There are a lot of different ways you can take Alfred. We've already had Gough's prime and proper take and Caine's cockney surrogate father. I can see Alan Rickman or Jeremy Irons as a leaner, more sarcastic Alfred, Brian Cox or Brendan Gleeson as a robust, heavy Alfred, Liam Cunningham as a younger, more vigorous Alfred. I could even accept an American Alfred, although the only names I can think of are the long dead John Huston and Vincent Price.

I think Irons has great potential as a big name villain. He would have been an excellent Ra's al Ghul, but could also nail someone like Mr Freeze.

The Craig movies could easily translate to Batman films. Bond and Batman are largely identical, and the portrayals and M.O.s of some of the Bond villains could very easily be adapted to Batman's villains.

Hell, I think Mads Mikkelsen could be a great Black Mask. And after seeing Javier Bardem's portrayals of Anton Chigurh and Raoul Silva, I feel like he could really get into The Joker's mind.

As far as I was concerned after seeing Skyfall, Raoul Silva WAS Joker. I was waiting for Prince to play during the chopper scene lol

In a way, Silva brought out some of the interesting things about The Joker that the movies haven't yet addressed, such as the homoerotic thing. There is also the potential for The Joker to briefly emerge as a human entity- but with the suspicion that it is all a ruse. Both B89 and TDK- phoney scar stories excepting- largely presented the character as daemonic rather than in any way vulnerable.
