Supergirl All About The Ratings!!!!!! - Part 1

100%? Wowsers...the Reaper sure shows his love for our Kara. As for Valor, it showed ZERO of it as far as I go.

I guess. Arrow, The Flash, Legends Of Tomorrow, Riverdale, Supernatural, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend are all 99% certain. So I guess he thinks there is a 1% chance they will be cancelled.

The 100% is because Supergirl needs one more season to hit the episode totals that syndication and streaming outlets want. Cancelling a show so close to those numbers is like throwing money in the garbage. Generally Netflix wants 70 episodes and syndication outlets want 80 or more.

One more year is a slam dunk for Supergirl. After that it becomes a question of whether or not that can replace it with a cheaper show that will get good enough ratings and whether the show actually gets sold into syndication like Arrow did.

It's why Legends of Tomorrow and iZombie are pretty much guaranteed to come back as well. They are going to get to 70 episodes at the absolute minimum, and then they will be re-evaluated from there.

Arrow will get at least one more season because the main cast is signed for seven seasons, and the show already has a syndication package on TNT. TNT pays for each additional episode so they're going to squeeze as many as they can out of it. If they can re-sign the main cast it could go on indefinitely, much like Supernatural has. Or it could just be done at seven, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and so many other shows.

Flash will be back because, like Arrow, the main cast is signed for seven years and from a ratings perspective it would be ludicrous to cancel it. It's the most successful show the CW has ever had.

More like, it takes a LOT to kill a show on the CW.

If it can make it past the first season anyway. The CW is no kinder to first season shows than any other network. Frequency and No Tomorrow both had no tomorrow after last season. Containment the year before that.

Live + 7 day increase for the Supergirl for the November 13th episode "Midvale"

Viewers, from 1.894 million live to 2.953 million in L+7, an increase of 1.059 million viewers, a 56% increase.

Not really. Many shows are cancelled before they hit 30 episodes, and many are cancelled after they hit 70. Recent examples include The Originals, Containment, The Messengers, Hart of Dixie, Reign, Frequency, No Tomorrow, etc. All were cancelled before 30 or after 70.

But for shows within the 30-69 episode range, renewals are a sure thing barring outright catastrophic ratings or outside factors (scandals, deaths, companies going out of business, etc).

Supergirl is in its 3rd season which means a 4th is guaranteed for syndication purposes.

But wow at least the good thing about ratings this year is that they are VERY consistent.

I imagine the deal with Netflix changes a few things, as well.

The Flash took a dive back down to 0.8 this week, but Legends of Tomorrow managed to snag a 0.6.

I wonder if that's due to people tuning in to see the fallout from Stein's death in the crossover. Might behoove them to have more consequences from the 4-way crossovers ripple across ALL 4 shows in the future. So far in both instances, for Supergirl, it was like the crossover never happened. Whereas it was pretty major for the other 3 shows - the leads from Arrow and Flash are now married, Legends lost one of its leads (technically two, if you include the fallout).

LoT deserved that rating bump. Easily the best episode this season.

To get ratings increase Supergirl will return with Legion of Superheroes, Flash will return with Trial of Barry Allen, and Legends will return with Constantine.

That should put into perspective what a monster The Flash is. Notice that neither of the first two seasons of Arrow are on the list; only the first two seasons after Flash got his own show.

Supergirl rounds out the list at the bottom. Really a shame how much it has collapsed but its debut season on CW did really well.

Also interesting that over half (9/16) of the most successful seasons in the timeframe were from four different DC Comics shows.

In the final ratings the 0.6 held and the viewers went up slightly to 2.17

I’m surprised, if anything I thought it would be slightly down coming off the hiatus. Guess this cliffhanger did it’s job. Would love to see them keep this up, but I’m not gonna hold my breath.
