Superman didn't spear Doomsday with the idea of, "you know what, I'm definitely going to die, see you later peeps". He took on this act knowing that it was extremely risky and could die but would rather place himself in harms/deaths way than have someone else attempt it and be killed themselves. That's the selfless act.

Its idiotic. He might die and then what? The planet is screwed if something bigger comes. It's idiotic no matter how you spin it because Wonder Woman could have used the spear. She has more experience with weapons like that, which shows because Supes obviously has no idea how to use a spear.

It's one of the dumbest scenes I've seen in a while. Even Batman could have used the spear. How does Supes even handle that thing and take it to Doomsday after he face planted into a puddle for 2 minutes just by looking at the damn thing. If Terrio didn't write Argo, I would have said get this Jabroni out of the business.

Why didn't they just write the end of BvS like Young Frankenstein and have Doomsday do a soft shoe "puttin on the ritz" !

By the logic being slung around here, the writers could have written the ending so many other better ways to avoid the fight altogether. That would have been fun to watch...

Maybe there are people who skipped this one due to it pretty much having a foregone conclusion. Plus, the word of mouth. So, they just buy it later with all the extras and stuff.

For all the talk about Snyder "not getting" Superman, its pretty un-Superman like for him to just hand the spear off, wouldn't you say?
