Despite being cringe-inducing in certain scenes, I found Lex to be one of the few entertaining things about the film. I thought he was a fun character, but a bad Lex Luthor though. He would have been better suited to Riddler IMO.

I can see that. Everyone is so po faced and serious in this film, that someone who looks like he is having fun, no matter how cringey, is bound to come off well.

Po faced, serious and mostly dead, in fact. I mean, being a supporting character in this movie is mostly fatal. Thomas & Martha Wayne? Dead (again). Dude who runs WE's Metropolis office? Dead. Terrorist leader? Dead. Legless dude? Dead. Mercy? Dead. Senator Granny's Peach Tea? Dead. Pa Kent? Still dead, now a ghost. KGBeast? Dead. Snyder makes GRRM look like a piker...

Sad thing is that there were so many times during the film that I wanted Superman to say something, anything that would make me root for him and it never happened. I sometimes felt like it was on purpose.

#IndianaJones is a psychotic murderer by today's logic. So's Han Solo, Neo, John McClane, IronMan, and Captain America.

Yeah, particularly at the hearing. It was like there were so many characters and storylines that there wasn't enough time for him to speak.

The simple facts of the matter are this -

THE MAJORITY OF POSTERS ON THIS SITE DO NOT LIKE THE MOVIE BVS.

Is this actually the case? Clearly, the ones who didn't like the film have been the most vocal, but if the poll in the reviews thread is accurate, about 71.5% of hypesters would rate the movie as a 6 or better, and 81.4% would rate it a 5 or better.

Of course, maybe there are good reasons to believe that poll isn't accurate, but I'm not aware of what those reasons would be.

Just watched the cracked video about what was wrong with the movie and laughed when they talked about Batman's "I thought she was with you line" And said "you emailed her!"

That complaint remains so stupid and inane I can't believe people ran with it. It's somewhat ironic that the people who kept trying to poke holes in this movie had holes in their own arguments,

Yeah, on both the reviews thread and polls only/no discussion thread polls it seems to be rated favorably.

Funny. If that many people on the Hype rated the movie below a 7 that would be pretty much on par with the RottenTomatoes rating and Rotten score. I guess critics aren't as biased as some fans want them to be.

And another thing, since when was a 5 or 6 / 10 rated movie a GOOD rating?

Surely if 5 = 50% then anything above would be positive. I wouldn't give anything above and say "if I had to choose bad or good. Bad"

I wasn't aware of that latter poll you mentioned, which has even more votes and is open until the end of June and should thus be more accurate than the former. What's more, the latter poll is even more favorable: 84.1% would rate it a 5 or better, and 75.24% would rate it a 6 or better.

So it would seem that those who didn't like the film have just been much more vocal, unless someone can offer a counter-argument. Speaking for myself, I've visited the boards less often lately, because the negativity toward the film really wore me out. I suspect that might be the case with others who enjoyed the film, and might be contributing to the illusion that everyone hated it. Again, I could be wrong, but if I am, I'd prefer people to point out why in a civil manner.

You've twisted my words. I never said a 5 or 6 was GOOD rating. I said it wasn't a BAD rating. You seem to be applying the law of the excluded middle where it doesn't apply.

Anything below 70% is the standard for below average. Same as in almost every standardized test in the world. No 50% grading has a positive connotation.

I typically rate movies I don't like 5's or 6's, as long as the production values are at least decent. I only reserve the "below 5" ratings for the truly atrocious "did ANYONE put in any effort here?!" movies.

Even by that metric, it is not true that the majority didn't like the movie: 63.1% of hypesters would rate the movie a 7 or above.

I think of 5 or under as terrible. 6 is just ok. 7-8 good. 9-10 very good/great.

Pretty much what everyone I know who's been to film school or reviews movies goes by too. Below 5 ratings are rare and mostly denote failure at production/technical level. 5-6 is still "bad"
