Lex hacking the Batwing would probably bring Batman Returns comparisons.
Could happen though.

Are there shots showing the Batwing actually gunning down soldiers?
Maybe it's another part of the nightmare sequence?

I figure most, if not all heavy artillery usage via Bat-vehicles will be against inanimate objects, Superman, and or Doomsday.
In other words, nothing that will likely be killed.

I'm guessing the guy manning the turret on the truck went up with the rest of it:

Whether the Batwing is being piloted by Batman or someone else remains to be seen.

Dialog between Kal-El and Faora in the MoS novelization, unheard in the movie.

One issue I have with this is the reason why Kryptonians have the power they do on Earth.

None of them should be a match for Clark as he had at least 30 years to absorb the yellow sun. They had minutes.

Nothing in canon shows that exposure to Earth is a gradual thing. In all media the minute they hit the planet they have their powers.

Only thing that tells me otherwise is Jor Els narration when Clark puts on the suit. He tells him he has been getting stronger and must keep testing his limits. Which takes time.

Not to mention Clark was also told to hold back for so many years. He had only started to secretly try to help and save people as an adult, he was learning his powers and strengths as he went. So many years of holding back his real strength like that to meet someone like Zod (keep in mind Zod was bred as a warrior on Krypton as said in the film) to be equally or outmatched is no surprise to me.

Couldn't that just be the result of having gotten older and used his powers? I don't quite remember the quote, but I don't think it specifically said exposure to the planet's atmosphere would continue to make him stronger over time.

OK but you also realize that at that moment Clark didn't then start training. He gets the suit, learns to fly, goes home and then Zod shows up.

I think the explosion is just for the trailer.

Well superman had to have had some level of mastery over his speed and strength or else how did he trash that truck to such extent while not being noticed.

Well that's great. So the people that had a problem with Supes snapping Zod's neck surely won't check this one out cause they've already shown Bats vaporizing fools like Nam-Ek did to that poor warthog pilot in the trailers. :o

maybe people did notice but then realized that if a man could treat a truck like a pin cushion that they should mind their business

I wasn't saying Superman didn't have any powers. I just said and meant that he was still developing them. learning as he went, he had no one equel or superior to test them with until Zod and the other Kryptonians arrived.

It's inconsistent with the explanation of how they obtain said powers. That's all.

I can't get over how pleased I am with Batman's costume... It's just perfect. I'm thinking Ben is perfect for the role also, hopefully they go 2/2.

Marvel's been in the spotlight so long, i think it's ok if the DCEU takes over in popularity. Just as long as both companies remain popular! i just want more movies from both

I think Dr. Strange is the key. With the magical elements being brought into both universes, the public has to accept that for these franchises to continue opening up their character and story vaults.

Here's my theory on Kryptonians:
Think of them like batteries. Outside of the yellow sun they are at 1. The minute they hit Earth and that yellow sun...they are at 10,000 (take that Goku).

Now Jor'el tells Clark he has powers but doesn't list them all...so Clark has to figure out what he can and cannot do...hence the comment about testing his limits. Clark has no frame of reference.
Zod and his people on the other hand can see what Superman can do...he flies, is fast, shoots beams out of his eyes....we should be able to do this too. Example: Let's say you have a sibling that discovers on their 30th birthday that they can fly. After some testing it's discovered their is something genetic in your family make up that allows your family to fly. Would it take you 30 years to discover you can fly or would you be able to fly sooner? Sooner right?

Good point. My only problem, I hate Shazam/Captain Marvel or whatever he is called these days (I think they just started calling him Shazam due to Captain Marvel also being used in Marvel but I could be wrong)
I know a lot of people are fans of this character, but I just always found the character absolutely ridiculous. I mean, the similarities to Superman are already there. so we have another hero very similar to Superman but instead a kid turns into said hero...... Yeah, not my cup of tea that's for sure.

I get that and I fully accept how Zod is more disciplined to tune into his powers than Clark, but you said it. Think of them like a battery. It takes a bit for that battery to charge.
