Man of Steel? Is this an Indie picture? Was it shown at Sundance or something?

It's a french art film about the hardships of male pornstars.

I just listened to the first 7 minutes of this:

Zimmer is very talented no doubt. I hope he makes an AWESOME score for MOS...if it's anything like what was in that video I'll be happy.

Off subject: I liked Patrick Doyle's work on Thor. Good stuff.

(posted this in the Zimmer thread too...wonder how the score is coming along)

Yeah it's going to be intense with all them bodysuits.

I still come across people that have no idea this movie is even coming out.

Shockingly poor marketing, to say the least.

Everyone is going to know this is coming out when it's time to start advertising. Doesn't take that long in this day and age for things like that to catch on, and these studios know that.

The last 3 months of marketing is the main key to any big film's success (or at least what I think WB's strategy is). I believe once we get to March we will be seeing a lot of marketing for MoS, kinda like what they did with TDKR.

Yeah, I remember TDKR was slow at first too. I'm just desperate for some more MOS stuff.

Wow, I just realized that MOS will be the first theatrical live action Superman film to give us scenes that involve Jor-el in actual physical combat and Superman throwing a punch for once.

Superman II.

Yeah can't wait to see Jor-el fight, assuming he does.

Superman II.

If you're referring to the part where superman punched Non in the Richard Donner Cut, I did mention that this would be the first time that Superman throws a punch in a film that was theatrically released.

And even in the lester cut, while Superman did punch Non, it was off screen as it happened underground.

Well...

and

Although, these were really lame punches.

When in Superman II?

Well, tbh the Superman 3 fight features the evil version of Superman throwing a punch only, and in the SIV fight, I wouldn't really call that a punch but more of a flying tackle.

Well, sure, I guess you could say he ceases to be Superman when the 'real' Superman splits from "evil' Superman's body.

But that second clip was definitely not a tackle, let alone a "flying tackle." A tackle involves seizing and grasping, but Superman's fists are clearly closed in that scene. It was a punch. In fact, even if I were to agree that Nuclear Man was tackled, you'd still have to concede that Superman punched him during the tackle; Superman's fists were closed, and they were propelled into Nuclear Man's body. It was a punch.

Both of those punches were unconvincing and unsatisfactory, however, so I definitely share your enthusiasm for a strong, hearty, vivid Super-punch, which I'm sure Snyder is more than capable of delivering.

^I count that as just a 'ram' more than a punch. However, Superman does in fact punch Nuclear Man at least once, from memory. When they're flying above the Earth, Supes flies just above him and punches him in the back.

Hmmm. I suppose I agree that it was a ram, but being a ram doesn't preclude the action from also being a punch; a "ram" and a "punch" are not mutually exclusive. I think Superman performed both actions at once. He either rammed by punching or punched by ramming, but it was a punch either way.

In other words... people want to see Supes inflict pain and suffering. :word:

I just think it will be great to see Superman kick some ass with modern effects. I want to see Supes, Zod or the other kryptonians take a heat vision blast to the face.

Yes, but not unequivocally!

People want to see Supes inflict pain and suffering upon evil people who can only be stopped by means of pain and suffering or upon people who deserve to be punished by means of pain and suffering. If Supes were to walk up to Perry White and clock him in the face, I for one wouldn't be very pleased, regardless of how bad-ass and visually stunning Snyder were able to make it! In fact, I'd be very surprised and I'd probably vomit. :wow::barf:

So, yes, people want Supes to inflict pain... but obviously with some (very important) conditions!
