Yeah, he's fine as Thor. He's not a bad actor, just mediocre.

But sometimes to play these Superhero roles you don't have to be some Shakespearean actor, you just need charisma, that larger-than-life feel, and serviceable acting skills. I think Cavill at least has all of those, so I'm not worried.

Right. So cavill doesnt have to give a mind-blowing performance. But he does have to suit the role, like hemsworth did very well! If he's as good as hemsworth in thor and the avengers, then i wont be complaining. :)

The most important thing is for me to believe he's Superman.

Randomly came across this on Tumblr. Not sure what it comes from or whether it is new or not.

Its old. Some Pooper-razzi guy asked him if he wears superman underwear. :whatever: Cavill wittingly came back with that. :yay:

**And I second those comments BH quoted!

I don't doubt the Joblo article was geniuine. The site has been around for a while, and he said the person was a very trusted source. I also trust Poni_Boy and his sources.
Varying opinions are to be expected.

The Joblo source probably worked on the production, or is related to someone who did. But that doesn't mean he/she would automatically give the movie a good review. Such small segments of the movie are divided among so many people that it's possible to be happy with what you worked on, but think the movie is crap.
I've seen movies my dad was in that I thought were crap (Urban Cowboy is a great example of this. Such a horrible movie!) I've worked on plenty of movies, and other projects (video games for example) for many months, and then thought the end result was crap.
Basically I don't subscribe to the whole "If they worked on it, or know someone who works on it, of course they're going to say it's good." line of thinking.

Reeve's peformance may be out of place in this film and Cavill's performance might be out of place in the Donner film.

Chris Reeve's Superman was upbeat, humorous and charming, and I'd like to believe that even in this day and age, those traits have a place some of the time. Not always, of course. There is a time for smiles and a time for scowls.

"In addition to this report, sometimes just living in Hollywood and conversing with people you hear things. And one of the things I’ve heard is that everything this scooper told JoBlo is right. That everyone who has seen Man of Steel loves it and it’s the ass-kicking, action-packed and heartfelt Superman movie you can’t wait to see"

Just get here already June 14th. Hell, if it's completed, just move the release date to April. There's nothing of merit playing in April.

Get here already.

"heartfelt Superman movie you can’t wait to see"

Don't pull at my fan strings!

Interesting. Hopefully they don't all share the same, 1, enthusiastic source. :woot:

So, I thought it would be fun to review what we've heard so far.

It all began with Elmayimbe. I heard he did scoop some stuff, got some stuff wrong, seems to be among the more reliable people in this field but im still neutral to him. He said that not only the higher ups loved but that his unbiased sources told him that the movie is ˙˙dope˙˙ and THE superhero movie to beat this year.

Then there was Devin Faraci of Badass Digest (no idea how reliable he is, but he does quite a following on Twitter) saying he is also hearing very good things about MOS. https://***********/devincf/status/302530543466196992

We all know what Pony Boy said. Some people here say he usually get's things wrong and posts false information, some claim he's no liar so Im neutral. But his comments seemed good, only putting the question mark on Cavill (painful to watch, fine but replaceable and OK being the comments). Someone asked Elmayimbe if the Cavill comments are true and he claims they are not.

A mod here filmnerdjamie says he heard the film is both ok but with criticism and also that it's amazing.

We all know what JoBlo posted today. I saw on the guys twitter someone asked him about Cavill and he says his source didn't get into actors but that if Cavill was bad he would surely mention it.

And now this dude from SlashFilm also claims to hear positive stuff.

All in all, we're off to a damn good start. If the early review ratio is like this mostly amazing/some very good/very little bad I'll be very happy.

Who's you're source?

I'm sorry, but until the movie comes out i'm gonna keep an open mind about things like that.

:p

I agree. There's no need to jump to conclusions about these things. It's hear say at this point. I mean don't get me wrong, if Superman really is in this movie that's great but I don't want to get my hopes up.

Most likely, we are going to hear ALL of these reactions when MOS is released.

Good stuff. Man, I hope it's true. Please be good, please be good....

I'm going to be more interested in Faraci's review. When it comes to Superhero films his opinion mirrors mine at least 70% of the time.

Well of course. Every single good superhero movie has all of those. Im sure there's going to be quite a few ˙˙critics˙˙ and the general public alike who will hate it (just like there's people who hate/severely dislike TDK or The Avengers or whatever). That's fine. All I care is what I think and that the movie does good enough at the BO to get a sequel if I like it. And if the majority (say, 80%) also likes/loves it, well, cool beans!!

Actually it is an open question as to how much time Cavill spends in the suit .
But quantity doesnt always equal quality .

I want to know if there's any controversial twist or turns in updating Superman's story.

Crowe talks Superman with The Chinned Blunder. [YT]JFMfl8D9kQk[/YT]

lol at how he corrects his laughter. buy it!

I think we have pretty much established that Krypton Blows Up ,
I cant think of anything really controversial they might do .
