I’m sure WB would love for Nolan to take charge of the DC movies. But since that ain’t happening, Goyer might be the next best thing. I dunno. Is there a better candidate?

With its release four months away, the anticipation for Warner Bros. Superman reboot, MAN OF STEEL, has built momentum faster than a speeding bullet. The first two trailers teased us at the potential of a Superman film that would finally live up to the title of "MAN OF STEEL." However, they've also been a bit dark and light on action, which has led some to believe we may see a retread of SUPERMAN RETURNS, rather than the smash-up superhero tale that the The Last Son of Krypton deserves. The darker tone has also suggested that Christopher Nolan may have injected too much "Dark Knight" influence over the film.

Well, according to our source, your fears may well finally be put to rest.

A scooper (whom we know and trust 100%) has sent us reactions to early screenings of the film happening at WB, addressing many of the common concerns that we've all had from the beginning. Here's his bullet points from the screening(s):

- Imagine a Nolan story with Snyder effects/action.
- It's the best movie of the year.
- There's TONS of action with Superman kicking all kinds of ass in his suit.
- The cape is CG'd most of the time so it can look awesome.
- They have intentionally left out most of the the Super action in trailers to save it.
- It's not nearly as dour and serious as the trailers suggest.
- The movie is complete, minus the 3D post-conversion, which is currently taking place

So, to summarize...awesome! Now, it's a bold claim to call it the "best movie of the year," especially this early on, but everything else is golden. To me, having tons of action was the biggest requirement, because we haven't really seen Big Blue do some serious damage since the 1970's and that's with some seriously antiquated effects. The CGI cape hasn't really been a secret and we can see as much in the trailers already. Personally, I'm totally down with it and have no qualms.

The other thing brought up is the tone, which really sails on the dramatic in the latest trailer, suggesting that the film may be another THE DARK KNIGHT, but I'm happy to hear that it's not a completely melancholy affair. However, he does suggest that it lives within the Nolan-verse, but with Zack Snyder's signature style. And that's just fine. If Snyder can do anything, it's action with style, so no complaints here.

Naturally, this is one person's opinion on the film, but it certainly paints a beautiful picture and assuages my own fears about having to sit through a two hour movie to watch Superman throw a rock into space and stalk his girlfriend. I look forward to hearing more information, naturally, and to get a broader scope of reactions, but this is a good development. Certainly, the new trailer, which is set to debut in April, will be telling and likely drive the excitement into the red. Fingers crossed for this one to pack a serious punch.

I don't know who Nick Jones is but maybe it's that "scooper".

What info? Studio execs are an inscrutable bunch. But they can pretty much be counted on to follow the money. And right now at least, Nolan is money.

Ok so the guy who runs the MOS FB Fanpage has just been really funny with me. He claims that Nick Jones was referring to the Dark Knight Rises when he said Man of Steel was honestly better SII said no he meant the Dark Knight. So he replied really snotty and said "and the person who asked him is a fan HERE who already discussed it. Are we done now?" So I've responded saying I've seen the convo on Twitter the question said Dark Knight the word rises was never used so why would he assume Nick meant Rises. I'm reckoning I'm probably gonna get kicked off lol

Edit; this is his reply "For the last time, Matt is a fan here. He discussed it. What part of this are you not getting? Why are you turning this into such an issue? It wasn't your question, you didn't ask it, you didn't talk to Matt. You are wrong."

All I was asking is how we know Nick meant Rises when it was never used in the question

Yeah, I was wondering the exact same thing; why do they assume that Nick meant Rises? When I read Nick's twitter thread, I assumed that he was talking about TDK, since the word "Rises" was never mentioned, and since TDK is considered by many to be the best of the trilogy and the standard for Superhero movies.

Why did the FB admins get so angry? Maybe it was the way you asked your questions?

New Oblivion trailer looks crisp and realistic, while still looking fairly surreal. I'm hoping for the same level of presence in the shots in MOS.

I was blocked from the Man Of Steel Facebook page for pointing out that they hadn't linked to the original article when they posted news from another website. They said nothing, just banned me.
That was literally all I did and they banned me. There is something wrong with the people who run that page.

That stupid ass MOS FB Fan page is run by a bunch of idiots! They don't like to be questioned...unless the question you are asking is "are they using the Superman theme?", "Why does Superman not have his red trunks?", "Will Superman have the curl in his hair?", or some other idiotic question like, "When is the movie coming out?", "Is the movie going to be good?". They love those questions because it seems someone asks one of those questions several times a day and they always answer it....

That was literally all I did and they banned me. There is something wrong with the people who run that page.

They take other people's scoops or news and try to run it as their own...when called out, they get pissy and ban people. They banned me when I called them out for lying when they started flaunting that they were the "OFFICIAL" Man of Steel Facebook page because some doofus at WB accidentally linked to them on the DC website. Yeah the admins of that page have some issues and several complexes to boot

EDIT: They said they NEVER claimed to be the official Facebook page, but yes they did...good luck finding anything to prove it since they deleted any and all evidence
