Clive Owen can't act to save his life. He has the most deadpan unexpresionless voice I have ever heard. Tom Welling could give him lessons.
This is so outrageous it's funny.

Look, I'm not one to bash Welling's acting because I think he can be an interesting actor when he wants to be. But giving Clive Owen acting lessons???
Owen is a miles better actor than Welling and I think that's a pretty obvious notion.

Man Of Steel will be at the Licensing Show tomorrow. What goodies do you think we'll get relating to the film?

I agree with you, Welling is a better act- sorry, I couldn't type that with a straight face. :funny:

Oh yeah, you mixed up on who should give who an acting lesson.

will superman be present at that las vegas expo tomorrow? TDKR and avengers both will

JDM could work as White but it remains to be seen if they're going with the same White we all know or going with a younger White.

At any rate, I WANT Clive Owen as Luthor. His character in Closer was both likeable and nasty at the same time. Perfect for Luthor.

We obviously have very similar tastes :)

Tom Welling could give him lessons on how to play the same character for 10 years, and half the time play it really badly.

OR

Clive Owen could give Tom Welling lessons on how to actually act in serious films, and be taken seriously in general as an actor.

He's won a golden globe, a BAFTA, and has been nominated for an academy award, as well as starring as one of the lead characters in an oscar nominated film...

Tom Welling has won two teen choice awards for Smallville, and has starred in 'Cheaper by the Dozen' and 'The Fog'...

If you don't like Clive Owen's style of acting, just say that. Don't try to compare him to someone who is clearly not as talented or successful as he is.

And here's an example of his acting, just for kicks:

Go to about 1.45 in and tell me he's unexpressionless.

So has Tom Cruise; Oscar Golden Globe and Bafta; maybe even Brad Pitt as well. I stand by that Clive is one of the worst actors in film to date, especially from Europe which exports few bad actors. The most mundane and expressionless acting I have ever seen. And the Tom welling comment was a joke on how bad I think Clive Owen is.

I'd be fine with Owen as Luthor, though I don't see it happening for some reason. But he's a very solid actor.

Do we know of anyone that is rumored to be up for Lex Luthor? Shouldn't we have heard something by now? I'm mean most of the rest of the cast has been filled out. Shouldn't we be hearing about a shor list, or something.

Meh to each his own. People say the same thing about Bale and it doesn't bother me.

I like Clive Owen, I think he'd make a fantastic Luthor and would be Snyder's kind of guy. I think being 'straight faced' or 'expressionless' would actually be a good acting skill to have for the businessman Luthor, and I've seen enough of his work to know he can also pull of charming and angry very well.

Do I think he has much of a chance? Probably not. But I'll dance for joy if his name appears in even a rumour :)

It was just the Welling thing just made me bite :p

Most of the cast has NOT been filled. About half has been. we have Jonathan, martha, Lois, Zod and Supes so far...
we still have Lex, Jor-el, Lara, perry, and Jimmy to go. Thats not even taking into account lesser roles that will be in it.

You know how the saying goes right? Great minds think alike. :woot:

On a more serious note, that link you put shows how good Owen is as an actor. He's such a prick in that movie it's totally perfect for Luthor.

You'll definitely see the logo there. I'd guess not as big a presence as Batman though. We're further away. However, WB did say they are going to be pushing Batman & Superman heavy leading up to the films. Pushing the characters at all levels.

I am curious... What is the largest active social Superman forum on the internet?
Surely this is not it..

Just a guess, but i'd say superman homepage has more members, although I think more postings go on here in our superman section.
I'm not sure about K site, but thats more of a Sv thing.
Eyes skyward is fairly active as well, just not as much as here.
If there is a bigger one thats more active than here, then I don't know about it.

I'd say this was the busiest. Though now that I think about it I suppose it is a bit strange that there aren't more of us... How many Superman fans are there in the world?

Well we're the hardcore one's anyway lol

Exactly what I thought. Made me wanna watch the whole thing, but I don't wanna get too wrapped up in the idea of him or I'll be dissapointed when it probably isn't.

Just like with SR, wait until filming starts...then you will have sooo many new members it wont even be funny. Then when its all over, they'll disappear.

I'll take a logo...anything new will do.

I don't think it will be a "new" logo related to Man Of Steel though. It could however be the classic S logo being used as a promo for Man of Steel.

I wish they would at least release some concept art of the Logo if nothing else.

http://thinkmcflythink.com/movie-ne...l-promo-art-shockingly-shows-off-superma.html

I just promised a pal of mine on Twitter I'd be equally *****y on the DC side of the Licensing International Expo as I just was on Marvel with that Avengers promo art. So here it is.

ESQ (via Twitter) has got a snap-shot of what may, or may not, be early promo art for Zack Snyder's Superman reboot The Man of Steel. In typically vague teaser fashion (and following in the foot-steps of the original Superman Returns teaser one-sheet), all we get is the classic \S/ symbol.

Not much to go off of truth be told, from a logo we've all been familiar with for the past couple of decades. Once we get our first honest-to-Christ look at Henry Cavill in character, then I'd (along with 95% of the internet http://thinkmcflythink.squarespace.com/?SSScrollPosition=741#as a whole) be a picky *****.

Nice^.

One good ( or bad??) thing singer did, he spoiled us with updates well before filming started.
I don't think we'll get the same treatment this time, especially with nolan involved.
