As am I, It looks like Supes is going to fly or get thrown through it .

Both pictures strongly reminded me of a couple of Superman vs Zod scenes from Superman II.
Are these pics from the Smallville set?

Guys, i don't know where to put this, but here goes.

I'm browsing through IMDB, and i just realized. David Goyer is doing the screenplay. Only him. I was thinking all this time that the Nolan brothers were the writers........... but Christopher Nolan and David Goyer came up with a story, but Goyer is doing the actual dialogue

BB, TDK, TDKR screeplays are done by Jonathan Nolan and Christopher Nolan, NOT DAVID GOYER.

Now i'm getting nervous, Goyer was not writing the screeplay for TDK, BB, and TDKR, but he is the only one writing the screenplay for MOS.

SO here i was expecting that i will get epic dialogues in MOS similar to the kind of dialogue we get in the Batman films, but no, we are going to get the cheesy dialogues we been getting in all the crappy Goyer-directed films :(

I think it's been known for quite awhile now that Goyer was the one in charge of writing the screenplay. I'm willing to wait and see as to what the guy can offer when it comes to Superman.

While I'm not sure about dialogue, I'm pretty confident that the story itself must be intriguing, enough to the point that it'd get someone like Nolan interested in the concept and pitch it at Warners.

After an interview i read at comicbook movie, Grant Morrison totally lost my respect. He is ****ing Superman up, comparing him to Bruce Springsteen!!!?!??!!??

Can't believe how some people can be fans of this mess that is going on... :down

Correction: Goyer co-wrote the screenplay for Batman Begins. It's the only Batman movie for which he worked on the screenplay. In fact, he wrote most of it and Nolan basically only did a polish on it. The Nolan brothers have written the screenplays for the other two.

Unless this new revamp has anything to due to the legal battle going on with the Siegals as a way of freeing the character from anything that the Siegals can bind him with, then I'm sure this new revamp of Superman will die down when the comic sales drop dramatically, which I believe it will.

This. It is basically the same writing progress used for Batman Begins. Chris and David wrote the story, David wrote the screenplay, this time without Chris. Just my opinion too, but I prefer Goyer to Jonah, if David and Jonah could write the sequel though, I'd be a happy camper. Because there are times when they both go over the top with their own cheesiness.

He's not the only one who had a hand in the script. Christopher Nolan had heavy influence on the story early on and other writers took a pass on it. You'll hear who eventually unless they are "ghosting".

That might sound silly at first, but what aspects of Bruce Springsteen and Superman was he comparing?

I thought everyone knew that Goyer wrote the script. Anyway, I'm a bit worried about that aspect but hopefully Nolan polishes it up.

Well, I knew Goyer was the main person involved in the script writing. Which is one of my main worries about this movie. His dialogues were the big letdown in BB.

goyer can be a good idea man, but his writing is extremely mediocre. when left to his own devices, he's a trainwreck. when kept in check by other creators, he can do pretty well. i dont mind the idea of him banging out the first draft, but i soooooooo hope it gets revised by other writers.

I'm sure it has. This will be the first film Nolan's produced but not directed so I'm sure he'll have a lot of pride in just showing off what his name on something can do. Secondly, this movie just has to work...this is, cinematically speaking, Superman's last stand. Thirdly, after Green Lantern bombing, when it appeared like they had all the key ingredients in order, its just crucial that they get right one of the biggest things that Green Lantern got wrong... The script.

I agree. Some of this blue collar, get back to his social activist roots stuff (or whatever it was Morrison said) sounds like total crap and kind of gets me worried for the tone of MOS if they mirror the comics. If they have him in Jeans, hiker boots, and a cape prior to getting his real costume, and people see this, it's going to diminish the impact of that full blown reveal imo. Not to mention it it's beyond dumb. It looks like he bought the T-shirt from his local comic book store?!!

Is morrison planning on giving us a bash the US government/the evils of capitalism crapfest?

How would Man of Steel mirror comics that didn't exist at the time of it being written?

Well neither was the costume, but a lot of people are stating that the movie costume will probably adopt the new look from the comics, or is it vice versa? According to some posters, DC & WB/Nolan are likely attepting to get in sync on various aspects of design/storyline. Personally I'm not buying this.
They do re-writes all the time during filming, so they could change quite a lot between now and when principal photography wraps.

I have a feeling something big is coming soon, dont know why I just do. Its like these set pics are vuilding us up for something.

I'm no Goyer fan (his scripts wouldn't be as good without other people taking passes at them) but I'd take a Superman movie of Batman Begins quality (A 7.5 out of 10 for me) than another Superman Returns (5/10). Hopefully this film is better than Batman Begins though because I want the best film possible.

But they're not going to entirely change the approach that got Nolan enthusiastic about the project in favor of the comics. They might change how it ends or some locations or scenes but the entire concept of the film? After casting an actor that matched the story's original concept? To match a comic that they're not even sure people like yet?

The comic sales are already low.
Perhaps the new revamp will cause sales to surge dramatically.
We just don't know.

Goyer does A few cheesy lines, Jonah does one or two cheesy lines and cheesy monologues. It's all a matter of preference, together I think they'd be great.
