Wow look at all the people viewing the thread. Finally it's only been a 3 month drought.

Also regarding Lois having the picture of Clark. I think its confirmed my (and many others) speculation that she is tracking him down in Alaska. I'd say the photo is from the tornado.

never. neveeeeeeeeeeer.

when i watch trailers and badass pics i get hyperbolic and act like a 5 year old fanboy. but Snyder is not and will never be the best choice for a movie.
I thought he was a good choice because he wasn't going to be allowed to do the um interesting overblown stuff he was allowed to do before. And this is coming from someone who likes him as a director more than most.

How about this, if the movie is good then he was the best choice. Personally, I think MOS is going to be more of a Snyder/Nolan/Goyer colab than a Snyder film.

I know that is going to annoy some people who think that Nolan is going to get all the credit if the movie succeeds but that's just the way I see it.

RE: The "nihilism" comment. I think understand where Goyer's coming from. Nihilists often operate with a death wish, as if there's nothing in particular that makes life so worthwhile, so they embark on this path of self-destruction to escape the meaninglessness. Bruce Wayne was operating that way throughout most of the series (pursuing "the cause" with zero regard for his own life or interest in even having a life), which was what Alfred was trying to get through to him about in TDKR (and, I think, succeeded). Also, anarchists tend to share nihilist viewpoints, so a lot of the stuff the Joker was preaching was pretty nihilistic as well, which is one of the reasons I feel he saw Batman as a kindred spirit.

Nolan's Batfilms certainly ended on hopeful notes, but they featured a lot of nihilistic discussions and themes on the path to those hopeful endings, imo.

Is it bad to say that i miss the "S" curl in his hair? lol

Cavil looks awesome, Amy looks beautiful. That is all.

Amy looks really great on that cover as well. Young and youthful as well as strong. The whole 'age' mean-spirited comments on here were far off.

IMHO...it would lower Cavill's ´´badass`` level. That photo of him looks perfect in terms of hair. I wouldn't change a thing. The curl would make it look silly/fake and less real/raw. Again, IMO.

No.

But honestly, I don't think it would fit with the more alien look they went for with this film.

Perhaps if Clark decides to make his suit more earth like later on in the series, we'll see him with the S curl.

I'm not majorly fussed with the S curl, tbh though I still think we'll see it

Holy **** Henry Cavill looks like an absolute BADASS in that picture. Finally a Superman that not only throws a punch, but easily looks like he can kick the absolute dog**** out of you! Looks great. Pure awesomness.

Him standing next to Batman doesn't seem so ridiculous when he looks this badass.

That picture of Supes in Smallville looking determined is just all kinds of awesome. Cavill looks so Superman there it's silly. And do I see a bit of mayhem in the background? Nice.

The spit curl doesn't have to look silly/fake. It's a hair style that people, even today, actually have, and it doesn't necessarily require tons of styling and gel or hairspray to pull off.

To be honest, most of the time, the attempts to avoid the traditional Superman hairstyle are just failures, they try too hard to be modern. That's not the case with Cavill's hair. In this case, it just comes off as kind of bland.

The folks over at Henry's Fan Site were able to transcribe a part of his interview from the newest magazine:

" Henry says his character wrestles with universal questions about his purpose in life. He believes that by showing the human aspects of Superman, the audience will relate to him and become more engaged in the story.

"This is a Superman for a modern age. It's not betraying anything that Superman is, but it is grounding everything in reality," Henry explained to Total Film magazine. "It's the story of this incredible being who can do incredible things, but whom we can associate with. Because he's gone through troubling stuff and had to make tough choices."

The star screen-tested for the role dressed in legendary Superman actor Christopher Reeve's old costume. He admits he didn't have a surplus of knowledge about the history of Superman when he auditioned for the part.

"Having gone to boarding school, I didn't have a comic book store nearby. But as soon as was cast in the movie, that's when I got my full, real introduction to Superman," Henry explained.

To prepare, Henry watched the box sets, read the comics and made note of the similarities and differences as he went. However, Henry says despite his background research, Man of Steel isn't a mish-mash of other versions of Superman.

"I managed to piece together this character, maintaining that bass-line and having all the differences and nuances that our script adds," he continued.

"[But] this is our own thing. Stand-alone. It's about Superman, but we're not copying from any one comic in particular. And that's a good thing, because it's an original story.
"

Zack Snyder gave my favourite ever answer to Superman vs Batman

No.

Maybe so. Anyway it doesnt bother me much at all. Its just that its always there. Even in the MOS art for the kids books. I'm just used to him having it

At least maybe some loose hairs during battle. lol

Any news on that guy from twitter that said he had news but wasn't able to get it up yet? He said hopefully in an hour.

I would love to see what he looked like in the old suit

i hate how in the last 5- 7 years all scifi and fantasy movies have to be grounded in reality. like this will trick people in the theater.

Out of curiosity, who do you think would have been a better choice?
the perfect director is someone who never directed a comicbook movie. those small directors who are hungry for a new challenge always think outside the box.

"Batman's awesome, but...really? Is that even a question?"

I'm paraphrasing, but that's pretty much what he said.

Didn't he say that to a fan who had asked him on who would win between Nolan's Batman and his Superman at Comic Con?lol
