i hate how in the last 5- 7 years all scifi and fantasy movies have to be grounded in reality. like this will trick people in the theater.

To be fair, i'm not sure it's just genre films. I think it's all films in general.

Just look at old black and white films and the stylised worlds even romance stories or dramas were told in. The stereotypes, the cliched dialogue etc.

Films have altogether become a much more 'real' experience.

And IMO, that doesn't make it LESS of an escape, but MORE. Because the more 'real' the world feels to me, the more I can actually feel like what is happening on screen could happen :)

The spit curl doesn't have to look silly/fake. It's a hair style that people, even today, actually have, and it doesn't necessarily require tons of styling and gel or hairspray to pull off.

To be honest, most of the time, the attempts to avoid the traditional Superman hairstyle are just failures, they try too hard to be modern. That's not the case with Cavill's hair. In this case, it just comes off as kind of bland.

Yeah, that's why I said that I think it would look silly on Cavill, in that particular image anyway. I also don't see how an added split curl would make the hair any less bland but to each his own I guess.

Personally it's just an approach I happen to be fond of. Without saying it is the only way, should be done all the time or always is the best way to go.

I would love to see what he looked like in the old suit
which year?:cwink: Cavill was trying to get the superman job for years.he was meeting with different producers and directors IMO. WB made a choice IMO based on his previous screentests and after meeting with Nolan.

"Batman's awesome, but...really? Is that even a question?"

I'm paraphrasing, but that's pretty much what he said.

Oh right, in terms of a fight. Well yeah, I mean that question has always been ridiculous :funny:

HOLY GOD!

Cavill looks amazing...AMAZING. That, my fellow Hypesters, in the Man of Steel.

Now, as for this image...

It looks good, and Amy looks lovely, but (and I can't believe I'm about to say this) notice how the crotch region is totally in shadows. Somebody is missing his red trunks :oldrazz:.

Kinda reminds me of those pics of Nic Cage in his Superman suit.

I cant understand why WB tries to hide the costume with shadows in the trailer and the photos.Comon guys we saw the suit allready.

Ya know something, I don't think we've ever gotten a Superman movie simply called "Superman". Even the first Christopher Reeve film was called "Superman: The Movie".

In advertising. But its official title is Superman. :word:

What makes you think they're trying to hide the suit?

Doesn't it feel good guys to be talking about something new rather than having to discuss about IMAX Cameras or other non related things?lol

All of em ain't like that and it's not going to last forever. Nothing does.

Marvel's films certainly aren't dark and grounded. Snow White was grounded but both Alice and Oz weren't. Even WB's own Green Lantern had an Iron Man tone instead of a Nolan Batman tone.

Eh. I don't really agree. The only one to do this, as far as CBMs go, is Batman. and it worked, however kept it from ever being crossed-over with other heroes, even if Nolan wanted it to.

So any news on this MOS Fan site scoop?
