I told them I would not reveal it....to some it would just be more crap to throw at them..

Ahh I see. I understand. I though there was someone from a Superman film that used to post here before and then he/she went away because people were rude and disrespectful, that's why I was surprised.

I want the next trailer to have action, but not reveal everything. I wouldn't mind something comical.

Did these people let it be known who they were when they posted? If not i don't understand why they were somehow more thin skinned than those posters who continue to post despite all that?

They shouldn't have to announce who they are. I mean, there are MANY posters on here who can be complete *****ebags who use no tact whatsoever. All they know how to do is to talk rudely to other people and in their minds, it's just "who they are" and if we don't like it then we can just ignore them. I'm sorry, but talking rudely and cursing doesn't get anyone anywhere. That's why I don't really say much on these boards, because what's the point? Like in the Fan Art threads, some people can be just downright mean to people who put effort into the manips or drawings and if you say something to said mean people, then they just come back with "it's my opinion, so why sugar coat it" I sometimes hit here reading posts and I literally just roll my eyes, because I just don't understand how a person can be so rude and obnoxious, but it's just "who they are", so we just overlook it.

Some people act like they are proud to be obnoxious creeps.

It all comes down to the Internet ****wad theory.

This pretty much sums up the internet.

Which is my mission to keep out of the Hype. If people want to act that way....go somewhere else and post.

Thank you! That was my mission on The Planet message boards at BlueTights back in the day.

Some people act like they are proud to be obnoxious creeps.

They can get away with that attitude thanks to the anonymity of the Internet. In real life, they'd (rightfully) get their asses kicked.

:wow: Oooh it's getting spicy in here. Lack of Superman news always makes people go crazy lol.

It's not easy is it? So many people today act like they are supposed to be mean and cruel on the internet...like there is no other choice. My purpose is to make them realize there is a choice...and there are consequences for making the wrong one.

I totally read that in Kevin Conroy's Batman voice in my head!:batman:

...keep up the work Lee and other Admins!

Oh damn. I log in and see all this.
Who pissed C.Lee off ?
*runs for cover*

It definitely isn't easy. You do a great job though.

Whatever show-time I go to, at least I will have my custom made MoS T-Shirt... :)

It might be interesting for those (the UK contingent!) that are intending to go to the London BFI IMAX for MoS, to see if we can get a number of us going to the same showing. We could say "hello", have a quick drink in the bar, before and/or after. I dunno. Just rambling here...

Yeah,I think this would be a good idea Deathlok, maybe as soon as we get dates for when the tickets are going on sale and if there will be midnight shows etc then we can get our heads together and come up with a plan:yay:

Yeah its to do with the art, I personally think they shouldn't worry too much about the art. Look at Thy Kingdom Come for example that had artwork that wasn't in the painted style yet matched Ross' artwork from KC. I know there were some issues that had Ross artwork but TKC showed u can do the style in a way that would be more suited for animation. I think they should just do it its about the story at the end of the day and they've done plenty of other animations that haven't matched the source material.

It's not just because of the art. That's one piece of it.

It's also because contrary to popular belief, Kingdom Come was not a universally beloved story and it's a story now that Mark Waid has alot of regrets about, in part, because of the presentation of the women in the book.

Kingdom Come is a popular book but it's also a book with severe, severe gender problems that have often been pushed under the rug because the art is so beautiful. But they weren't problems that went un-noticed.

Wonder Woman's portrayal in KC is intensely problematic. Mark Waid has admitted in recent years that he really knew nothing about Wonder Woman and that he has deep regrets for the way he wrote her. The way Lois Lane was fridged in the original story (off-page, treated as nothing more than a corpse/plot device as opposed to given any personal agency) is also really problematic and has been the subject of a ton of criticism. The way she was carelessly fridged also led to copy-cats for years on end wherein writers killed Lois off in violent and sexist ways to create angst for Superman. KC created alot of problems in comics for women in many respects that are still repeated today over and over again and was, in some ways, responsible for this obsession with a dark, gritty Superman. The truth is that Mark Waid wrote Kingdom Come as a "WARNING" about what "not to do." He didn't write it as a "how to" guide. Yet, so many people misunderstood the message of the book and assumed that this was supposed to be a story of how things were supposed to be. And that was NEVER the point. The point of the book was to be a warning about what not to do.

I understand that some people like the book but there are also alot of people (yes, even professionals) that DO NOT like it.

Personally, for me, the gender problems with Kingdom Come are not outweighed by the pretty artwork. I don't like the book. I don't like the way women are treated in the book. I have no desire to ever see the book made into an animated fillm and I'm glad that more and more people now are waking up to the problems of the book and really looking closer at some of the damaging messages that the book sent. ::shrugs::

Some of the.....less mature/idiotic/moronic/*****/banned posters....made him decide to stop coming here. Hopefully I was able to talk him into coming back.

He's not the first celeb I personally know of that stopped coming to the Hype specifically because of the rude comments made in the Superman forums.

Think about that folks....there have been actual Superman related comic artists and Superman movie actors that you could have been talking to...but some posters want to be evil little snots with their comments and have made them decide NOT to post here.
Yup. I remember a certain person from SR that use to post here. Also, a pretty high up person from the batman trilogy read alot here during and right after B.B. I was told they stopped because of what you just said.

Jamal Igle is a really, really nice man and he has some wonderful insights on Superman. I'm so sorry that he felt he had to leave the board because I would have been honored to speak with him. He's a great guy.

I never really got that excuse. Like I'dbe cool if they just did it in a style similar to TAS, frankly.

I don't see what the problem is with the art.
Hell they got The Dark KNigt Returns right.

If anything i'd love to see a anime version of Kingdom Come or at least something that resembles the art of Ross faithfully.

Agreed.

That is awesome! I'd love something like that. And for some reason I have ALWAYS liked the black, red, blue, and yellow on Superman. Even in the old Fleischer toons. If I had to "reboot" Superman ala NU52, that's how his suit may look/ It just looks so good on Superman, IMO. Kind of think the black belt with the red leotard would have worked perfectly for MOS, but I'm still happy with what we got.

Oh, so you split you're loyalty between three heroes?

See, i'm just completely loyal to Superman... :o

Agreed.

I'm also holding out hope they'll one day get around to a Birthright adaption, but it'll probably be a long time from now as they won't wanna do an origin story around the same time as MOS.

A Birthright movie would be so, so awesome. And I don't get why that would bother them having the origin out there in that in addition to MOS, they just did Batman: Year One not too long ago, although a few years have passed since Begins now. I'd just like to see someone done well other than Batman, lol.

Batman:The Mask of The Phantasm was an extraordinary film.

I think it's a great film! And a perfect template for possibly the greatest live action Batman ever made. It would be cool to see. Still my favorite DCAU film.

I met him at a comic con a few years back, he is a great guy. Very kind man and very talented. Honored having him stop by the hype when he did.

I've been following these boards for a few years, and this is by far my most anticipated superhero movie! I loved nolan's batman films and I think this movie has a great chance to match and maybe even surpass those films. I'm glad I can share my anticipation now with fellow comic book and movie fans!

The reason it hasn't been made is the artwork. Alex Ross said as such.

The issues you state can be found in several books. Look at the issues in the Dark Knight Returns? Did that stop them doing that? Nope. Trust me its all to do with the art.

Personally to me its the greatest graphic novel of all-time. Nothing compares to it for me.
