It is strange to me that Zod has had no official reveal. I really do wonder why they've gone down that route, I still think there may be some reveal soon but I wouldn't be shocked if we didn't get one. Maybe much like Batman Begins where the focus was on Bruce/Batman they want the focus to be on Clark/Superman.
It is not entirely unusual.
We still dont have an official Confirmation on the identity of the villain
for the next Star Trek film.

I understand what you mean, and I agree..For the pleasure of seeing the movie, I think it works well, at least for me worked a lot with BB..But, I think that it's needed for selling a Superhero movie to have a clear villain ( in fact BB didn't had that hit at box office )..

P.s. Sorry for my english, I'm not from here around :cwink:

I'm not talking about that..We heard Cumbernachos, we had stills, cover magazines..People is aware that the movie has a villain, even if we don't know his real name..With Mos we have nothing about Shannon's character..

I still think the original comic con trailer has been the most powerful so far. The music, the choice of lines, all the things we got to see (clark's baby ship, the fos, an explosion in metropolis from a shaky pov cam, clark flying straight at the camera through clouds, clark and lois kissing, bearded clark on fire, clark walking into the daily planet and putting on glasses - not to mention all the stuff that's also in the other trailers.

I'm not saying I wanna see that as the next full trailer, but it would be cool if eventually we do get that released online as well :)

P.s. Saw Oz the Great and Powerful yesterday and was chuffed to see the MOS trailer in front of it :)

I absolutely agree, I feel the CC trailer has a lot of "heart", even Clark/Superman's voice is so much more melancholic (the "my father believed" line I feel has a different tone than the one in the official trailer, I might be crazy though).

Certainly we know he is playing a villain .
It is possible the images in question are very powerful and they just want to wait for the right time .

There's not an official version, but there is "a" version on youtube that's not the original bootlegged upside down one. Not HD, but its definitely better quality than the first one that came out.

Well we have a video of Shannon saying he was playing Zod. I suppose they could of lied to him at the time.

No I totally know what you mean :)

Yeah, I know... it's still not good enough :hehe:

Well Snyder has not officially confirmed Zod.
You never know,
Shannon could be playing someone posing as Zod .

I dont care who Shannon is playing,
as long as it is somebody who can challenge Superman physically.

The CC trailer may be the greatest compilation of footage for this film to yet exist, it still hues to close to the contemplative and moody tone of the second trailer. The next one needs to be more action packed. The Iron Man 3 trailer number 2 was yet another intrigue peace with little action. This film needs to fill that void. Movie goers still haven't seen the film that will fill their action cravings this summer, yet. This needs to be it.

Lets hope it has the action that we think it does .
Snyder wants to balance his action with the introspective stuff.
So, we shall see.

Dunno about Snyder, but Goyer said it straight, I guess he's ruined the surprise... :csad:

Bleh, that'd be lame. On time is cool, two is fine, but to have that all the time...

I knew I wasn't the only one who thought it sounded different! :oldrazz: and I like the ComicCon footage version much more... this reminds me of one of The Dark Knight tv spots, where the line "good evening ladies and gentlemen, we're tonight's entertainment" sounded different from the trailer....in the tv spot it wasn't so good as the one in the trailer..lucky for us they went with the trailer version....I hope the same happens here and they use the comiccon version... like you said...it's more melancholic or sad...something....the one in the trailer sounds much more "cold" to me if that makes sense :oldrazz:

Cumbernachos? :funny:

This talk about shannon not playing Zod is silly.Shannon is clearly playing Zod.I guess the lack of news can lead to this kind of silly talk.

It's actually common practice to use a different take of a line of dialogue in a trailer or commercial, than the one actually in the film. It helps keep some of the more important dialogue unspoiled. You may have heard the words before, but in the context of the movie they sound a little different.

Im not talking about Zod or not Zod..Im talking about a movie that for audience has not yet a main villain..Everyone knows, but Wb hasn't officially shoed nothing..He could easily be, like Star Trek where the villain is another one, but they have showed him, in a role..

Did this forum just go back to the default bored mode? Sigh, right now I'm sporting a sad face behind the screen.

I'm not going to get too much into it because I have run the issue into the ground but lets just say I don't think you can compare the handling of the promotion of the Trek 2 villian and the MOS villian because Trek 2 is trying to market the hell out of their villian and MOS has barely mentioned their villian to the audience.

I'm not saying one way is better or worse but those are the facts right now. Maybe WB are waiting until May to start marketing the villian or maybe the marketing is just going to focus on Superman himself. We will see what happens.
