Reminds me of the time during the SR lull in news and footage and then BOOM! some Australian TV ad for a product debuts showing the airplane rescue and footage of Superman saving Metropolis. :woot:

Not sure if it's worth checking out tonight or not but it's the Nick Kids Choice Awards at 8pm EST and even though RDJ or Cavill aren't in attendance they are debuting an extended Iron Man 3 TV spot, so perhaps something for MOS might air..?

I remember that! It was on a weekend, I heard about it on BlueTights and scanned the tv like a mad man. A few hours later boom! Never so excited to see a... Pepsi commercial, I think it was.

EDIT: Also Henry isn't kicking off the promotional tour next week. Seems like the stop in Japan is just the one stop for now:
http://henrycavill.org/en/blog/henry-cavill-news/item/368-henry-cavill-to-visit-japan

The Superman Homepage contacted WB about it and they said that they "don't have any information on a world tour". He's probably just going on vacation with Gina and appearing on TV for a brief interview or something. :oldrazz:

WB doing a world promo tour for MOS, haha, yeah right! :woot:

Where is that dude who came waltzing in here about 3 weeks ago with false hopes of ´´insiders info`` about character posters debuting ´´any day now`` and then disappeared. :argh:

Anyway, watch nothing happen in April aside from a EW MOS issue with another few lame stills inside which WB won't release in HD and the trailer only coming out with IM3's domestic release in May. :p
This is what i call team spirit :oldrazz:

Ever heard of the healing power of laugther? :woot: Don't worry, Im crying on the inside! :( Im trying to be positive with what is a sad situation. I have zero reason to believe WB will suddenly start heavily promoting MOS. Seems they'll go for the last second blitz (May-June) and take a big gamble on hoping the WOM turns MOS into a hit. And that may have worked IF MOS had a different release date. But May/June/July are so full that I'm afraid that just won't cut it.

^ Stop terrifying me.

Hey now no need to be terrified. You should thank me for keeping expectations on a more realistic level! :word:

I think he deserves a ban. right. NOW. :woot:

Hey, don't shoot the messenger! :woot: Ban the guy who lied about the character posters! :argh:

No no no, in April the marketing will start kicking all fronts

Maybe...

...but unlikely... :woot:

and we will begin to hate the movie :yay:

.......makes sense. :p

There's still people who doesn't know about a new Superman movie... I think WB needs to start with a better marketing campaign right now

terrific non-marketing on the part of WB yet again... great guys, let your film flop

I think that those character posters will arrive, at the end of April, after the "international" one that is out in about 3-4 weeks with the trailer..WB seems to follow same paths in marketing, and tdkr banners an multiple poster arrived day after day in mid May..Those where days, huge marketing explosion :hrt:

The marketing strategy for this film is frustrating... for us fans.

However, what they have released has been golden. I actually kind of like that they're taking a reserved confidant approach with this film. The secrecy and the fact that there's so little we know and have seen is refreshing. They're almost guarding it like Apple does with their stuff before it's announced.

The truth of the matter is folks. In less than 3 months we'll have seen every bit of this film. Stay strong!

A lot of plans involve just laying low with trickles of info here and there, then letting loose like a month or two before release in a flurry.

All the promotional material so far has beengreat... except for this abomination:

I believe we should have gotten more at this point, but you guys are really impatient. We got the trailer in December, a magazine cover in February and another one this month. Also, there's no way they're going to wait until May to release the new trailer and posters. It's ridiculous to think that.

I still believe we're getting the new posters at the end of this month, or maybe early April. April is also when we'll get the trailer and probably another magazine cover and/or stills. May is when we're going to get the first TV spots, possibly more posters and maybe even another trailer. But...that's just me guessing.

I'd start worrying if we didn't get anything by mid-April, which I doubt. Speaking of April. I work at MTV Greece and I tried to find out if they'll show anything Man of Steel related at the Movie Awards, but they didn't know. I was told that there's a chance we won't know until a couple of days before they air, unless WB themselves announce it. I'll keep asking.

Completely disagree. It's a striking image that puts Supes front and centre in an actual situation and is actually generating a lot of interest and discussion I've noticed amongst people (in my own life and listening to unassociated podcasts). I know you'd rather a generic image of Supes flying but this is far better, and has something to say.

I like the idea, but the execution is horrid. The weird blur, the pointless lens flare, the de-saturated color palette just makes the whole thing bland and boring. The poster also gives me a headache.

I quite like the image. I’m not sure if I’d frame it and hang it on my wall; but the first duty of a movie poster is to sell the movie. And this one evokes questions and curiosity - which, hopefully, produces interest and buzz.

I agree, but at least, it's not a generic poster with blue/orange lights and floating heads :woot:

[BLACKOUT]The Guardians of The Galaxy will make a cameo in Iron Man 3[/BLACKOUT]

No, No, No

I did it again!

I read more freakin spoilers! NOOO!

On a side note, does anyone know when the next trailer will be released

You're hilarious. You do realize fanboys aren't the only ones the studio has to impress, right? And laying it all out there months in advance isn't always the way to go.

And no, you cannot compare it to IM3 or Star Trek. Completely different animals.

They're going the TDKR route - it was pretty dry on the promotion front, then when the 3rd trailer hit, we got flooded by **** on a daily basis. I suspect the same thing's gonna happen here.

The concept of the image is good and what it attempts to transmit is a different view of Superman. But it is indeed a terrific image in technical aspects, the bad quality, colors and 'effects' used.
