I understand that it's probably not the shield that's going to be used in the movie. I just thought that I would put it out there for your guys to see.

That's the worst shield I've ever seen. Looks like the artist was tripping or simply has no real skill.

You're one for exaggeration aren't you, Charles Manson?

Only real problem is the upper loop. The far end where it joins the shield is a little too high.

I hate to break it to them, but if they're depending on the name superman alone to sell it, then they'll be disapponted (see S.R.). I'm hoping they know that by now.

It sadly might not sell on Superman's name alone.

But I think it'll sell on Nolan's.

In what is a battle with time Zack Snyder's "Man Of Steel" is set to start filming next month in Plano, Illinois which is acting as Smallville, but there are some minor battles being one in the court rooms as well.

According to The Register DC Comics filed a cyber squatting complaint and has now won the rights to www.manofsteel.com in the case "DC Comics VS raton, Coni c/o LBR Enterprises". The registered party has owned the domain since 2001 but the ruling was that the "Respondent does not maintain any rights or legitimate interests in the disputed domain name" and "is being used in bad faith".

DC Comics owns the trademark on "Man Of Steel" and has since 1987. They also own the rights to "The Man Of Steel" which they've enjoyed since 1987. By most all accounts the title for the upcoming flick will be called "Man Of Steel" or possibly some other variation.

DC Comics still doesn't own the rights to "www.themanofsteel.com" or "www.supermanmanofsteel.com" but there is always tomorrow. Hopefully we'll see news or photos something soon on www.manofsteel.com.

Oh wow, shame they moved it but at the sametime I'm glad its in the summer, even if I have to wait longer

Guess this means they have some more leeway with the release date.

Smart move. There was no way WB would release this and The Hobbit in the same month.

How is this possible with the court deadline of Dec 31st, 2012 for the rights?

Wow didn't see that coming.:whatever::whatever: This kind of puts to rest the notion that they MUST release MOS before 2013 or WB's lose the rights. Or, it could mean that a settlement has been worked out with the heirs.

Shame they did move it, but I'm sure its a better move for them, clears up some of the clutter of that month, and I'm sure WB does not want this film being cannibalized by The Hobbit, nor do they want to rush the film. It sucks for us, because that means we have to wait 6 months longer, but in the end I'm sure it will be worth it.

It gives WB another tentpole in 2013 along with The Hobbit II.

They already have TDKR and The Hobbit for 2012. There was no need to have all 3 in one year. Especially with no more HP films in the pipeline. I think the initial date was a placeholder just in case the Hobbit production troubles didn't get settled.

more time couldn't hurt
but june is the month films go unnoticed imo, may or july please.

They had to have a Superman movie IN PRODUCTION by that date. Doesn't matter when its released so long as they were making one by that time.

I just read the news. I got mixed feelings about this. On one hand, the producers will have more time to work on the film's story, fx's, etc. On the other hand I wonder if this has something to do with the script "polish" and I wonder what effect(s), if any, this will have for the film since there was a date related to the copyright stuff. . . .

Wow!

This is a smart and wise move by WB's by pushing the release date to June 2013.

It gives them more production time, with no rush jobs during shooting and more importantly no rush jobs during post production, SVX, and editing. There will also be less competition with a Summer 2013 release date as well. I just didn't think they would be able to release the film in 2013. It's seems like WB's may have indeed learned a lesson by rushing out Green Lantern.

Apparently they can. Good move all around for this production!

It's also nice to see Jonah Nolan listed as one of the screenwriters now also!

So is The Hobbit Part 2 going to released in mid to late July 2013 or be moved to December 2013 Holiday release?

Remember, 2013 is 75 years of Superman first time published (1938). So, he will get a movie as part of commemorations.
