Following him Zack Snyder, director of Superman Man Of Steel turned up with the world premiere of the film’s new trailer which will play before Oblivion starting on Friday. “There’s no competition between superheroes obviously but if there were he would win,” said the unabashed fan of the comic book hero. ” I am sorry to even have to say this now but we shot the movie on film and anamorphic. We wanted to give your cinemas a big giant movie movie.” He also acknowledged producer Christopher Nolan’s help in steering him in the right direction on the film during their first meeting. Nolan and his co-producers Emma Thomas and Chuck Roven were in the audience but oddly not introduced to the crowd. The trailer played well and Nolan seemed pleased with the reaction when I saw him afterwards.

I like the way his powers seem to be depected. He seems like a Superman but not so overpowered.

Not predicting a billion doesn't mean we think its a flop.

And I'm still not predicting a billion. Batman Begins had impressive trailers as well and so did Star Trek. Both well recieved films and both didn't even hit 500mil worldwide in 2005 and 2009 respectively. I'm still at 260mil here and 350 internationally. I might go to 270mil but no higher.

Yup, it's their symbol for Hope. They got it from the Birthright comics.

Superman has "flopped" in the past and there are many who think he's out of touch with the modern audience. I'm just curious if there is anyone that thinks that might hold true/happen again. Never said anything about a billion.

Brad Pit and Will Smith are probably sitting little less pretty than they were a day ago.

Yes, we know for sure. Hans Zimmer (@HansZimmerMusic) himself tweeted asking "Let us know what you think".

Again...that's not Zimmer's twitter; it's a fan club...and even if it was, the tweet didn't say "This is my music; what do you think?"; the tweet said, "What do you think?" He did score the movie; so there's no reason he wouldn't promote the trailer, regardless of whether his music is in that trailer...and as a reminder, he hasn't yet promoted the trailer as you can see by looking at his actual Twitter account: https://***********/RealHansZimmer

If WB decides not to move forward with a sequel based on the financial returns(once again putting the character in purgatory) then yes its a flop.

I think the first minute and a half of this trailer is pure bliss and kinda genius(even with the tons of reused footage). The second half is cut pretty ruthlessly. What I wouldn't give for them to linger on a few things a little longer. Still no definitive money shot imo. The ending shot was pretty cool but needs some clean up.

Glad they finally let Cavil act in costume. This is one of their biggest weapons.

I'm still kind of in shock, once again beautiful shots, amazing music (can't get the piano and drums out of my head), Zod is freaking menacing, very powerful.

Also, Superman should be happy he seems to have 2 loving fathers that are willing to do anything for him, that "goodbye MY SON" line made me cry, it will probably take a while to fall asleep...

I'm completely sold on Cavill after the interrogation part, the guy simply IS Superman and Amy looks sooooooo sexy.

The trailer is more than I could have hoped for...plus more...but I wouldn't say Cavill's acting is their biggest weapon? That was a neat little scene at the end though.
