I'm figuring the safest bet is reacting to the same thing that happened here:

Jonathan is killed by Zod and to add extra measure - Clark didn't get there in time. A simple heart attack doesn't usually elicit that kind of scene, someone being stabbed or shot in front of your eyes does.

Close, but Clark's hair is curly. Jonathan probably dies during the tornado. Which would actually make more sense for Clark's motivation to become "Drifterman"

Clark is busy helping other people, then he turns around only to see his Pa get sucked away or get hit/crushed by debris.............

and maybe it's a situation where, if only Clark had used his powers to fly/superspeed over there, he could have saved Jonathan. But, doing so would have exposed his powers to the public, and his parents always forbade him from doing that...............

Yeah the 2 Jesus poses (so far) are definitely intentional. Like Snyder said in 1 of the latest interviews, the Christ allegory is unavoidable.

I think Jenny is really fragile, so Perry takes care of her and is worried about her, keeping her safe even from a TV broadcast.

On a positive note, what about that last shot of superman. the look of determination on his face was unreal, then the launch towards earth??... gotta love it.
