Reading Birthright: "God, please don't let me look ridiculous"

I bet every actor thinks that when they put on the suit. I can so see the character fearing that as well :D

Do you hope its in the movie?

I'm not sure if it'll feel appropriate. He's coming out of his ship, all majestic, wind blowing his insanely cool cape, he feels the sun... "God, please don't let me look ridiculous"... It kinda kills the mood... :P

But maybe in a downtime, when he first goes to his mom in the suit, he might express it, hoping people would still take him seriously or something. He certainly seems to be more comfortable explaining it to Lois.

Is that Nina Dobrev?

So I saw the new trailer in front of Iron Man 3. :woot::up:

I really enjoyed this:

[YT]USV3wQYY4PY[/YT]

It's a fan-edited mashup trailer with audio from the Tree of Life trailer.

"Guide us, to the end of time."

and the reaction was? BTW what is your avatar?

It was a full crowd which was rare for a 1 PM showing and yeah it was mostly silent, not one peep when that trailer was playing... other than me and my younger brother who was getting giddy over it. :oldrazz:

and my avatar is from Daft Punk's new single...

Sorry I overhyped it. Im just excited for it.

Don't be so sure. It IS a game 7.

In addition to NBA enthusiasts that will watch it just because it's the playoffs, well Chicago and Brooklyn (or New York) are two of the largest NBA markets in the country.

That's a LOT of people. A lot more people will be watching the ONLY game on tonight than did any of the four/eight game 1's.

LOL at the Wallmart video :D

So, I don't get Luthor (Birthright). He wants to dissect Superman first chance he gets? Wouldn't a live alien specimen be better to learn from?

I'm gonna guess he just wanted to gross out Kent and Lane, and that if he were to have Superman he wouldn't kill him, at least for a while... so I can quiet the voices in my head...

Very true. But keep in mind, game seven was scheduled only after game six was over, two days ago. This game isn't like the NCAA championship or an episode of Modern Family, which are both scheduled far in advance. I don't know if Warner Bros. is quick enough to say "Oh, there's a game seven in two days! Let's scramble to put together a new trailer and contact TNT to purchase advertisement time." Then again, maybe they are quick enough. *shrugs* ...Something to consider, at least.

I agree, it's a valid point. I just mean that I'd like to think at least ONE person involved in this project would realize that there is a good chance of having 400% of the audience you had, say, last night. Quick turnaround? Absolutely, but heck, it doesn't even have to be a new spot. Run one of the ones out there and even if some have seen it, plenty of others haven't.

I think he's much more eager to do away with him, just so he can go back to being the one and only truly "superior" being (he does say Superman makes him feel like an ant). I like that particular part of this interpretation, even if Birthright Lex is a little too over-the-top reclusive for my taste. Hoping for a similar Lex in the MOS sequel - genius egomaniac inventor, not just mean businessman.

I'm off to watch Iron Man 3. I know I'm definitely not getting the new trailer, but I'm hoping for at least the 2nd one. Then again, if I do get it, I may just get a coronary from the sheer joy of watching it on the big screen, and die.

ok, so just got back from IM 3.

I actually enjoyed it. It was good. It was fun, although perhaps a bit too comedic in certain areas. Like others have felt, I thought it was better than IM 2, but I think I still like IM 1 the best. As for the "twist," since I already spoiled myself beforehand, it was ok for me. IDK how I would have felt if I had gone in fresh, though.

what does all this have to do with Superman you ask?

well, the icing on the cake was that I............GOT TO SEE THE NEW TRAILER AGAIN!!! So that makes it twice in a row ( I'm on a roll here!! ).

as an added bonus, my crowd actually reacted this time. When the trailer started, I heard a few people whisper "Superman." and when it was over, I heard several kids say "Superman!!"

so, for all that, I think it deserves a Rapunzel!

^ I was just going to post that I spoke to a friend about 10 minutes ago who is seeing Iron Man 3 and one of the four trailers was for MOS. So I don't know if it's timing, or fielder's choice or what, but she definitely got to see it and said major crowd reaction after almost nothing for Thor 2, ST2, and HG2.

No idea what that means, if anything, just passing along the info.

good that it's getting some reaction!

after seeing IM 3, I know it will probably make more at the BO.

but, I feel MOS will be the more "meaningful" superhero movie this year.

its the Luthor complex, he wants to be Superman, he wants the spotlight on him and then here come Kal-El outshining him in literally everything, so yeah I could see him wanting to dissect Supes to figure out a way to make himself like him, to gain Superman's powers and use them to how he wants....he's a real nut case that one lol

I kinda hope we see Luthor show up in Man Of Steel in a similar way to how he shows up in Superman: Earth One :)

Just got back from watching IM3...no MOS trailer (bummer) and have to say I didn't mind the twist tbh but I do think it wasn't better than the first IM, just felt it was sort of a waste. Anyhow, I'm more hopeful than ever that MOS will be the movie to beat this summer (fingers crossed).

When I saw Iron Man 3 - I liked it - and Downey Jr always puts on a good show. But I was thinking how much more I want to see Man of Steel. To hear Zimmer pump around the cinema. And to witness the type of action only Superman and his villains can provide.
