Nope. It wouldn't be a complete summer blockbuster/event movie without those humorous one liner's imo.

I thought it was cute because they were obviously acknowledging the obvious.

They should be playing the he's kind of hot TV spot instead. I mean, it has shots of both Superman and Zod using heat vision, punching each other in and through buildings, it has Zod climbing a skyscraper, epic take-offs of Supes, plus the it's not an S and are you ok? lines from Supes! It's far better than the one WB released with the boring Jor-El dialoge. IMO anyway t:

The laser vision in this movie is awesome. Its not just a little laser, its like a huge optic cyclops-stlye blast.

Yeah, and look at the sense of worry and dread on her face. This must be right before he gets his note pad and pencil out to start kicking some ass and taking names!

It lasts like half a second but man, these actors are great, so much emotion in their eyes. Henry can hold his own against an actress like Amy.

Stop all these awesome tv spots, they're getting my expectations too high, I need to lower them...

At least it'll put an end to the "It's too dark" complaints. Looks to be a well balanced action event movie of the summer; with a decent story to boot! My sister saw the trailer with the Hangover 3 and said her and all the girlfriends were shocked about how great it looked. June 14th(or 13th for me) can't come fast enough!

I'm glad this movie has some humor. If anyone is complaining about it, then I think it's just another example of fans being impossible to please. They don't want a Superman movie to be as dark as something like Batman, and yet they get angry because of ONE funny line? People need to lighten up.

Goyer's lines are sometimes cheesy, but honestly the only one that's ever remotely bothered me (that I can think of) is "nice coat."

Where are the "they're hiding Cavill because of his acting" people now? Warner is not hiding him now, aren't they? And they never had, we have seen him say a few lines from the start. Now a few babies are whining about WB showing too much... guess what, nobody is forcing you to watch anything, you are just too weak to resist temptation, is your fault, as simple as that.

Yes, it is funny to many of us, but you know how some people always have to whine about something, before it was, "it's too dark, is not Superman!", now is the opposite... they're just fickle.

Yep, exactly. And if people have a problem with the line, well, the '78 Donner version also had a similar line. I don't remember the specifics, but Miss Tessmacher gushed over Supes' good looks.

Ummm, I haven't read the prequel or seen the book (I believe those two are separate), and so in theory Kypton might make the most sense, but:

In the YT that DK posted (low-quality one), right as Kostner is saying "when the world sees what you can do" 14ish), is that a dragon heading towards Cavill????
