you and me both...I don't give two craps about The Avengers

Me neither. Looks just like if you put Thor, Iron Man and Captain America in the same movie, and I didnt particular care for any of those movies.

Is it just me, or does anyone else remembering hearing a old rumor LONG AGO (back when SR was still being made) that Singer had mentioned that before CR had passed away, that he had wanted CR, if he had been willing, to do a cameo in SR? If there's any truth to that, I wonder how people would have responded.

Well, how did people respond to his cameo in Smallville? Isnt that the same thing really? Depends on the cameo.

True; heck, I remember reading on how some had thought of how they could have inserted him as one of the viewers watching a TV in SR when Superman made his first public appearance in 5 years, with him saying something like: "Welcome back old friend..."

of course there would be a cameo. every superman movie would have a cameo with Reeven if he was still alive.

lol

Well, I'm still hoping for the best that MOS will bring back Superman's popularity with the GA on a high level. It's kind of depressing for me at times to see Superman being misunderstood as a character (by both previous filmmakers and audiences), which imho, is one of the reasons why he's not had mainstream success in awhile.

I mean if I had a nickel for every time I read someone saying that they thought superman was too boring, or impossible to relate to in any way..I'd be rich enough to bribe someone at Warner Bros. so that they could show me footage from MOS right now.lol

I remember it and it was true.

This is what Singer had in mind:

One last thing I am remembering; he said that he really wanted to have Reeve make a cameo, and that because they are shooting in Australia (this was his idea before Reeve passed away), he was going to try to do something similar to what was done for that SuperBowl commercial a few years ago; using CGI he was going to try to have Reeve make a cameo while walking! Really exciting stuff!

This was the Super Bowl commercial Singer was referring to:

I'm glad he didnt. Then it really woulda turned into the ultimate Reeve-tribute / love-letter.

I remember reading that there was a scene that was supposed to be in Steel where a wheelchair-bound man tells Irons the importance of hope and helping people, referencing the Superman tattoo on Shaq's arm, but Reeve had a scheduling conflict.

I wish he had, if he was alive no doubt he'd have cameo in a Superman film whether it had been Singer, Ratner,
McG or whoever.

Depends on the director. McG woulda just made an all-fun cameo. I imagine Singer however woulda drawn it out or made it sugary.

If SR had today's technology, I would not been surprised if Routh was chosen to be the body double for Reeve. Reeve would be brought back to play Superman, they'll give him a CGI face lift like they did to Bridges in Tron: Legacy and put his face on Reeve's body like they did with Portman in Black Swan. Of course he would have to still be alive to do this. :o

just saw Chronicle recently, the fight at the end is what Superman should be. Im tired of the movies using Supes superstrength for just lifting ****. He needs to punch people through buildings and the street

Watchmen had some of this with non superhero dudes.

If Man of Steel is a success, than DC will have Marvel pretty beat with quality films. Quantity, of course not, but quality first. TDK, epic success, TDKR will probably be very successful, so if MOS is (and I hope it is) than yeah DC will be blowing Marvel out of the water with there movies. I do expect TAS to be a success, and look forward to it, but Im expecting Avengers to FAIL miserably with critics. High box office? Probably yes, and to an extent, but its going to be a big silly dumb/fun action movie and thats probably about it. If DC has a TDK like success with MOS or a MOS2, than yeah DC will own. However, to be fair.....we did have Green Lantern. We all know how THAT went.

Dunno about that site.

And an almost CGI-less teaser from Snyder? Well, why not?

Never heard of the site either but I think the teaser will in all likelihood be with TDKR.

It makes sense. Its all WB. Of course it might not happen, but it should probably be expected. I said this in TDKR forum Ill say it hear, WB will probably have a very similar campaign for MOS that they have had for Bats. Teaser in July, than in the winter some kind of second trailer thats just really a longer teaser, than a period of secrecy.....than around May of next year things really kick off with big news. Something along the lines of that formula.
