Just for a minute, yeah.

Seriously though, he killed it by spouting a bunch of nonsense. Start with a JLA movie? Really?

So, to hell with the single biggest female superhero every getting a proper film to herself then. :whatever:

That went over my head too. If anything, Iron Man succeeding should more than give hope that Wonder Woman could as well.

And Clark confesses to Corben that Luthor tried to kill him, before figuring out that HE is Metallo. By that time, Metallo escapes, and tries to brutally kill Luthor, but is stopped by Superman. He disables Metallo, and blocks Luthor's path, and they confront each other. I'd like it if Lex DID have a Kryptonite shiv, and Superman just grabbed the hand holding the Kryptonite, and crushed it.

And then they have a dialog heavy scene in which Luthor tells that he'll be able to get away with anything. And he does, for this film.

But Superman replies that he knows someone who can dig up any information, and that he's building a case against Luthor.

This man, of course is Batman.

And the TRUE World's Finest movie should occur after Batman has exposed Luthor, and caused him to go into hiding.

5 years ago, nobody would have believed a WF movie could cause mixed reactions among CB fans. :funny:

lol; true, though five years ago, no one would have thought that Marvel would have become so successful in making a shared universe work on a critical and financial scale that it'd make all of their competitions scramble to catch up in the process by rushing things as fast as possible.lol

I think you guys are thinking too small. I don't think this movie will have a Bat villain and a Super villain. I think there is only going to be one villain and they have to team up to take him down.
Bear with my overreactive imagination:
What if the villain is someone tied to Darkseid...maybe some of his people are wrecking havoc on Earth. Someone super strong is causing chaos and Batman thinks it's Superman. Blam....Obligatory fight then they realize it's not Superman it's (my knowledge of DC stuff is limited)...they take him down but realize that he is just one of many. A whole planet that wants to conquer the Earth. Batman and Superman realize a real big threat is coming and they need help. But who? Batman tells Superman he has a few ideas......

....this is the lead up to JL.

The villain is pretty much all but guaranteed to be Lex at this point.

But that's NOT a MOS SEQUEL. That's its own BEEEP movie! And I'd watch it, if not for the fact that there are underdeveloped characters and situations that MOS2 needs to build upon.

Sure, that could DELAY the TRUE MOS sequel, but Adams isn't getting younger. Of course, if she ages anywhere near as good as Sigourney Weaver, I wouldn't mind a Lane over 50.

TBH I don't think this is a sequel. If you watch the reveal Snyder goes out of his way not to call it a sequel.

but then again all of those characters and situations will be in this movie...I don't understand how adding Batman takes away from that.

That is what I said. But I don't want there to be a ban on upcoming sequels in the MOS universe later on.

Yeah, I think it's all but confirmed that this isn't a sequel to MOS.

We might get one after JL, so like in maybe...2018 or 19, assuming if JL comes out in 2017, but whether to call it or see it as MOS 2 or 3 will be another issue.lol

And one never knows if Warner Bros. might force the film to turn into another team up film with either Batman or someone else.

Clark: Why compromise my story? Why now?

Batman-Because I WAS the DC universe for over twenty years. You'll get your time back in the sun after a Justice-League, and its solo movies spun from it, and a JL sequel, and another team up movie with me.

Well I think I am gonna call it quits...this is a good thing...unless you hated MOS...then I feel your pain. I am not a fan of Whedon and he's in charge of the MCU...so I understand.

So here’s a more detailed list, I think, regarding the Pros and Cons of the next “Superman” film, based on what I know or heard of so far:

PROS:

  • Superman and Batman will meet each other for the first time on the big screen in live action format.

  • The film will further accelerate and expand the new DC Universe that Warner Bros. are trying to create, thus taking us one step closer to the inevitable Justice League film.

  • Zack’s visuals and creative mind will be an asset when designing Batman’s costume and fighting style, along with how it’s shot, on the big screen.

  • Zack Snyder and David Goyer are behind this.

CONS:

  • Superman is robbed, yet again in a way, of having his standalone sequel, as his franchise will now forever be marked by the presence of the Dark Knight.

  • Zack Snyder is a big fan of “The Dark Knight Returns” story line and it’s no secret that Goyer loves writing for Batman, more so than he does for Superman.

  • Superman doesn’t exactly have the best history of being portrayed properly whenever he’s had to share the same screen with Batman.

  • Zack Snyder and David Goyer are behind this.

  • We won’t get as much time or emphasis placed on the stuff that needed to be addressed and resolved in this film from MOS.

  • Superman needs help from Batman to supposedly take down Lex, a character that Superman should have been allowed to take on his own like how Batman was allowed to with the Joker.

  • Potential triangle involving Lois could ruin both her character and the quality of the relationship that was built up so well between her and Clark in MOS.

  • Christian Bale’s Batman is still pretty fresh in the minds of the public and it would have only been three years since “The Dark Knight Rises” when this film is released.

Well, that’s not exactly encouraging now, is it?lol

Well, damn :csad:

As excited as I am about seeing Clark, Lois, Bruce and Lex on the big screen, the logical part of my brain that knows MoS wasn't that good is making me feel disappointed this will be a World's Finest movie instead of a proper Superman sequel. All those cons are scary too.

Indeed; and the sadder thing is that when a person really thinks about it, the last time Superman has had a direct sequel was about 30 years ago.:wow:

Similarly, I didn't connect to Kal-El (note that I didn't call him Superman) and thus the movie. But evidently there are many who got invested. It's absolutely fascinating, this gamut of gut responses to the movie.

I think this is due to Clark being the principal reason to follow, like and be emotionally involved with in the movie.
To me, occasionally he was Kal but I thought of him mostly as Clark.

Well, the fact that it's being written by two bad writers is a legitimate cause for concern.

Goyer is a great writer his previous works validate.. just give him another good writer to complete the trio and then we'll have a great film:yay:

As someone that loved MOS and would have preferred a direct sequel, I will have to admit that it does make sense for Bruce/Batman to want to take a closer look at Superman especially after something as catastrophic as what occurred at the end of MOS. If these heroes exist now in this universe, then I would expect one to step up and see what this alien is all about and make sure if he can be trusted.

Isnt this a lot of speculation....we don't know who the villains are and we don't know how much Batman is going to play a part.

well also they brought us MOS, 300, THE DARK KNIGHT, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES AND WATCHMEN...
