Lennox? Guy made from stone from Azzarello's run? One that went to his death chanting "we are Millwall, no one likes us, we don't care"?

Interesting, if true... it would mean that they're really taking New 52 WW as a template, and in this particular case, I don't actually mind New 52 approach.

I wonder how Steve Trevor fits in if they're taking inspiration from the New 52 as the Azzarello run didn't feature him at all but he had a big role in Justice League.

No source, no reliable site or scooper...They don't have anything beside the fact that Patty Jenkins started following Taron Egerton on twitter. Beside that, NOTHING!

So while I'd like to see that happening, I woun't get my hopes up.

Yeah, but Geoff Johns does this all time tho. Patty also started following Gal a month before Mclaren was announced to depart the project. I like the casting (if true), he is a very talented actor.

These are all kinda backing the WWII period piece theory more and more.

Just because they might film scenes of the London Blitz doesnt mean it is a period piece. They will probably give background of the character and show a few flashbacks.

Same here. One of the few new 52 title runs that I enjoyed.

Azzarello's WW run and inclusion of Cyborg in the Justice League's big seven roster are pretty much the only things from New 52 I am okay with. t:

Yes. I could totally buy that. I like Melissa but for the Etta to Gal's WW I think she's just a little too old. That's not to say she IS old, just, she'd come off more of a maternal type in connection to Gal, where as Schumer would seem very much like an equal in age. That is if Etta is in this at all.

Etta is an American gal pal of Wonder Woman's from WAY back in the day Sam. Schumer could bring something to the role. Of course she ain't no Jynx Maze but, what are ya gonna do?

Various tribes, yes. Living peacefully? I'm not so sure.

I kind of think that they'll be pulling bits and pieces from multiple different WW eras/runs. Suicide Squad seems to be doing that as well.

Various ethnicities, yes. Although, I'm not sure that they were necessarily from distinct "tribes" of Amazons as opposed to simply being women from around the world (or the "world" as it existed when Themyscira was first created).

I don't think they had various dialects. Either they all spoke the same language when they first arrived on the island or after thousands (?) of years together, they all speak the same language (or rather languages since they all seem to understand English whenever an outsider visits the island).

There was a second "tribe" of Amazons from Bana Mighdall. That is where Artemis (the Amazon, not the Greek god) is from. I don't think it exists in New 52 continuity though. There was definitely conflict between the Amazons of Themyscira and those from Bana.

As for conflict between the Amazons on Themyscira, that has always been depicted differently. Sometimes they all get along wonderfully - hence the name "Paradise Island". Sometimes there are political conflicts. Sometimes there are open, physical conflicts. In New 52, there has been plenty of conflict amongst the Amazons of Themyscira.
