I dont know, she has made a life out of Diana Prince. She has drivers, bank account, goes on planes lol. Part of me thinks that she would still want to be able to live a semi-low key life while the other part agrees that it will just be a nickname and she'll just go on with her life.

The point is more so how little that would make sense in modern times. Unless they had some magical element to the disguise.

With Diana, it feels to me like they won't really use a secret identity.

With Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne, there is probably a stronger argument to keep the dual-identity, but with Diana I think the superhero aspect of things can probably just blend together with the rest of the character's life in the modern world.

How does it not make sense (esp in terms of Superman) in modern times?

Do you think Clark Kent would be able to live anything resembling a normal life if the world knew he was Superman? His passion for reporting would pretty much fly out the window.

Because of how everyone has cellphones and all that. There's no way nobody wouldn't recognize the guy. The whole glasses thing is really silly.

The secret identity makes more sense for Superman than Diana, imo. Her goal has never been to be a "regular joe." He's all about preserving his farm-grown upbringing as a way of preserving his humanity, while she's perfectly happy embracing her inner-demigoddess. She seems to be a wealthy high society woman already...one step away from actual royalty. For the world to acknowledge her as such would hardly be a big change for her. And it's not like she'd be putting her loved ones in danger like with Clark/Bruce. They're either all gone or deadly warriors, lol.

It's been silly since the day it was introduced, regardless of where we've come in technology. But no one is going to be paying attention to Clark like they will Supes.

On a different note: They were trying to work in a Lynda Carter cameo and will try again for a sequel.

What do you mean actual royalty? She is actual royalty. She's Princess Diana of Themyscira.

A Lynda Carter cameo would certainly be nice.

I think I enjoyed the film even more on a second viewing.

It's certainly up there with the best superhero origin stories on film, imho, with its main rival being Iron Man.

This is a more ambitious movie than IM, in a lot of ways, but it's also a bit of a harder sell, with its unusual combination of historical and mythological elements.

I'm *very* curious as to what they might be able to accomplish in a sequel. At least JL will happen soon, so they can move forward with the next WW film in the aftermath of that.

(There's also the original Superman movie, of course, but that's from a different era and harder to compare.)

Eh, it is way sillier these days. And then at the end of BvS, the newpaper reporting both Superman and Clark's death. Like, really??? They didn't catch on? But yeah, with Diana I don't think she really needs a secret identity anyways.

The only Oscar category that I'm reasonably confident she would be nominated in is Costumes. Between Themiscyra and WWI Europe they were all quite exquisite.

That's my point. I'm talking about her being acknowledged as such by the rest of the world and becoming an official ambassador of Themyscira. I honestly don't think it would be a huge lifestyle change for her like it would be for Clark or Bruce. She'd just get recognized more often and have to make public appearances, but otherwise, she'd still be living the high class life, still be attending exclusive galas and be a highly regarded expert on antiquities surely, lol.

Did you ever see the video of Henry Cavill standing in Times Square right by the BvS advertisement with his face on it? He wore glasses and literally no one recognized him.

Read up on how spies change their look. The little detail is what gets them by not the big changes. A different parting of the hair, adding a limp or slouching, different eye color, glasses...etc. It is amazing how just a minor difference can conceal you.

Actually, if I recall correctly, he didn't even wear glasses.

Well I must say that I enjoyed "Wonder Woman". It seemed "lighter" in tone than say "Batman vs Superman" and I think that Gadot's slight accent helped add to the feeling that Diana is "not from around here". I hope that it continues to be as succesful as it has started out to be.

I'd like Diana to be a secret identity to WW unless Themyscira is recognized by the world and her as a princess of it. Like Patty said keep the cheesiness in the movies if it allows.

Yeah I mean that was funny, but that's something that's easily edited.

I'd say the reason the Clark Kent secret identity works is because nobody thinks Superman has a secret identity. He's just a guy flying around Metropolis (and sometimes the world) that is called Superman. Why would he pretend to be a human and live among them when he's a god?

There's a priest who shops at my store that bears a striking resemblance to Mark Hamill. Is he really just Mark Hamill in a priest outfit?

Good point. And, Nobody thinks Superman has a secret identity as he doesn't wear a mask, a person who is not hiding anything would not need to assume a different identity.

I can't remember which comic it was, but Batman once complimented him on the genius of his disguise - because Superman doesn't wear a mask, the world assumes he has nothing to hide.

So yeah, if someone on the street recognizes Clark, they just think to themselves, "damn, that guy looks like Superman. Lucky SOB."

There's also that thing where often celebrities don't look all that remarkable in real life.

She was not in the movie. Poor thing. I think she has a bigger role in Justice League but now that's Zack is gone..

I am pretty sure that she WAS in the movie. I really paid a lot of attention to all the amazons for, um, technically minded reasons.
