And both of them are on the Oscar board. Bet they'll be pushing it at the end of the year

Who are on the Oscar board? Chastain and Fuchs? Is the board made up of actors and writers?

Wonder Woman had the whole wimmin thing, though.

I don't know if it's Oscar worthy but then again it isn't always about how well the execution is, it's about how you feel afterwards, and I can't deny the feeling I had after this movie.

have u seen keeping up with the joneses?

That's not a very good movie. Although Gal is hot in it, it neither showcases her talents nor is very good as a film. It feels more like the pilot of TV series. So it would be fine on the small screen, but on the big screen it just lacks that cinematic quality. Plus some of it is just too meandering.

Chastain and Lupita. And this is not getting huge support only from female directors and actresses, also male directors. I guess all the tweets have already been posted.

I saw Mangold's tweets. He said he had worked with Gal before.

There have been many dubious nominations over the last 10 years. The fact that TDK wasn't nominated is already a tragedy. Logan and WW at least deserve some recognition.

What would be really funny is if Gal got an acting nomination after all those people who said she can't act to save her life.

John Campea said she'll never play in Hamlet or Othello. I want her next roles to now be as Lady Macbeth or Desdemona. :o

Finally watched it. I loved it, holy ****ing balls.

I think Gal should at least get a golden globe nomination. I'd love to see Patty get an oscar nom again for WW. Who knows what the academy will do though.

I wouldn't hold my breath, but then again I think both Logan and WW may have done something that TDK failed to do, and that was they connected with people on an emotional level. You sometimes hear people say despite it being a good movie it comes across as a little cold. For all it's technical and narrative achievements TDK is a film that probably means a lot more to comic fans than it does to the average film goer. TDK at it's core is really about Harvey Dent more than Bruce Wayne, whilst Logan and WW are squarely about Wolverine and Diana.

The movie is so so SO heartwarming. And Diana is so damn loveable and inspiring. Patty Jenkins is GOAT (Gal was ****ing 10/10 and Chris Pine was great).

This gave me lots of hope for Justice League and the future of the DCEU.

Yeah I'm not counting on it but it's a nice thought to have.

Watched last night, I didn't enjoyed as much as everyone, but it probably is mainly due to personal preferences...

The only major criticism is the convenient plot point towards the end: [BLACKOUT]Ares revealing himself when there was nowhere to go if he hadn't[/BLACKOUT]. That felt kinda sloppy, like the writting get to that point and then couldn't solve how to end the movie without it.

The other thing that bother me was that's mostly a hero's journey movie, and felt predictable, BUT that is something that I usually don't hold against a movie, quite the contrary. When people that watch tons and tons of movies predict coming plot points, it is mostly that the plot points fit in with the overall plot, wich is a good thing. Probably with me was that the predictions lead to stuff I didn't like, or very cliche ([BLACKOUT]Ares' carbon copy Darth Vader moment "join me and we will rule together[/BLACKOUT]). This is where it might just be personal preference bothering much, and nothing more.

But mostly, it was ages above what the DCEU was delivering. It might be flawed, or not, but if it was, at least the flaws were minor decisions and the movie is mostly consistent and true to itself.

I would rate it 6/10 or 7/10. I can't see how the rest of the world think it is the great. But still, it is a solid movie.

I think she has a good chance at a globe nom. Not sure about Patty tho.

Unfortunately we will have to probably wait until Aquaman for another quality film like WW. JL just looks like more of the same from Snyder. Maybe Joss Whedon can at least showcase more Diana in post production.

I just came back from my second viewing and I love it more than the first time!

It holds up so well, from Diana's sweet naivete to Trevor's grudging acceptance of her belief, all the way to her finally awakening from the dream and accepting the reality. So damn good!

I know others have stated a weak third act, but I have to differ. The third act -
because of Diana's acceptance of the darkness in men but also buttressed by Steve's example and those of her friends, I feel is actually the stronger act of the entire movie, because there is so much growth in Diana in just those few minutes of play.

It starts with her killing 'Ares,' and I could feel it in the audience, where they're thinking, 'That's it? It was over pretty quick...'

But then it starts ramping up again, with her disillusionment and Steve trying to keep her fighting. And then Ares does appear, not with a bang but with a deceptive reasoning hidden behind a trusted face.

Her fight no only against her shattered preconception and against Ares himself was exciting and a perfect cap on a movie that, even if it was close to two and a half hours, still felt too short.

I'll be going a third time...:ilv:

Oh, and it was a full cinema!

I think he directed those captain jack commercials, which Gal is in from back in the day.

Could WW be the first superhero movie to get nominated for an Oscar Best Picture?

While it would be nice, I'm not sure if it is deserving. But maybe it's not about what you deserve. It's about what you believe. :o

I wish Lynda Carter has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

With WW doing well at the box office and Supergirl being the 2nd highest rated TV show for CW, I think the doors will be opened for female superheroes in both film and TV.

I don't know about "never leave the island". I imagine the amazons were expected to have *some* circumstances where they'd leave and do stuff.

That said, I wonder if the armor, and many of the other artifacts, were left in the safekeeping of the Amazons *specifically* so they could be used by Diana when she came off age. Which is to say, they weren't intended as just random gifts, but as the divine birthright of Diana.

This feels right. Why have all those gifts at their disposal if they weren't meant to be used. I know the lasso was used, but all the others just sat there until Diana finally came for them.

And I think I know what the armors special power is. Concealment under dresses. She doesn't need to do a spin if she is always wearing the armor!

When they came out of the shop, all she gave Etta to carry was the sword and shield, because she was still wearing the armor...

And one of the best soundtracks ever!!
