Etta Candy gets old and writes a faux-historical account of World War 1 involving a mysterious 'Wonder Woman'. While it is relegated to fiction resulting from the over active imagination of an octogenarian, conspiracy theorists sought evidence of the existence of this mysterious figure.

The myth propagated over the next few decades but was never more until one Alexander Luthor Junior directed his considerable resources into finding this 'Wonder Woman' and caught a break.

I do like how that sounds.

William Moulton Marston originally wanted to call her "Suprema the Wonder Woman" like "Robin the Boy Wonder", but editor Sheldon Mayer disliked it and told him to cut it down to Wonder Woman.

Suprema? Ick. Good call, Mayer.

Suprema wouldn't have sounded as stupid if that is what they stuck with. We'd have been used to it. Hell, Batman sounds dumb as **** the first time Kane probably told someone about it.

Suprema sounds a bit like Maxima, or Superia (from Marvel). I think it sounds like a villain name. It has a self-assumed sense of superiority. Wonder Woman sounds more inspirational and giving a sense of amazement.

BTW, it would've been cool if there was a German psychologist named William Moulton Marston in the movie. He would've been around at the time of WWI, working on his doctorate of psychology, which he completed in 1921.

Wonder Woman sounds like a name given to her whereas Suprema sounds like someone is full of superiority-complex and names herself like that.

Yep. Wonder Woman is more humble which fits her character. Suprema sounds like it's in complete contradiction to her character.

Ha yeah, can just imagine that conversation.

@sethgs

Seconded. #wonderwoman rules. Congratulations @PattyJenks @ZackSnyder @geoffjohns @thejonberg @JasonIsaacFuchs and all my homies at DC.

Is boosh a word? Don't know where she got that from.

It'll be interesting where WB schedules the sequel, I think at the earliest it should be November 2019 and latest July 2020.

Basically the energy release from the gauntlets and when she slams into something. Basically the sound effect, lol.

So what do people think of people on Fox News saying she wasn't patriotic enough bc she wasn't draped in the flag? Seems like her actions were pretty patriotic to me.

I didnt find her actions patriotic. And it doesnt need to be. Wonder Woman is a universal character and not an American one. It was made so as war propaganda.

Diana Prince is an Amazonian, she ain't American. She is Wonder Woman of the World. She ain't Wonder Woman of America.

To the folks who has a problem with that,

:D :D

Superheroes were made a lot more patriotic and nationalistic due to the era of WW2 where people kinda needed that morale boost.

I dont really care myself, but would most of you want to see the stars on the skirt or leave it as is in future films?

Nice @Blitzkrieg Boy.

BTW did anyone see the article where Patty said the only thing they added in Wonder Woman(reshoots) was that scene where

her and Trevor walk towards the no man's land, and they see the horses being hurt etc.

That was Patty's idea, and that was one of my favourite moments of the film, and it worked so well. Its ironic because when there were talks of reshoots people said it was to add humor, and that was one of the darker elements of the film.

Anyway glad that it was added. Lends credence to the fact that reshoots are not a negative thing(mostly) and often make the movies better.

I happen to know that just like you, no one else cares about that. :D :D

Are there any cases here of people taking their female friends or family members who aren't into superhero movies where they end up being either indifferent to it or hating it? I've heard stories of them ending up loving it, but wondered if there were any cases of the opposite.

Well helping the helpless is a patriotic ideal. It's a universal one too really.

No stars on the bottoms. The costume is perfect as is.
