I really like it! :ilv:
Also it's a nice change that quite sizeable people excited for a DCEU release and even some of them suddenly hop on DCEU train and cannot wait for JL.
I knew RT score is powerful nowadays, but not to this extent; some people said WW is good (or above average) even though they are not yet see it because WW has a high RT score.

Honestly, I'm already wary of backlash.

And surprisingly, I quite care for Diana-Steve romance because I'm not a fan of romance in movies. And no CBM romance made me interested before. Maybe because their romance isn't super 'in your face' type, and presented in a way that both quite likeable and isn't annoyed me.
It didn't hinder the story or their mission. It feels like an impactful part of Diana's journey to be what she is.

Gal-Chris chemistry is great and both of them done great job is their roles.

I even saw a person commented that s/he is now a fan of Chris Pine because of WW and previously never saw any of his movie before, and only know him as a Hollywood Chris who isn't hired by Marvel yet.

Kudos for Gal to be able conquer most of her doubters, happy for WW to soars among male-lead dominated big blockbuster CBMs.

She looks awesome as WW regardless what her previous detractors said, and believable as WW with both ability to act and carry the movie.
Camera loves her, she got badass face without trying to hard, infectious smile that lights up a room, able to sell wide-eyed idealist with innocence and later, maturity. Even a hint of madness.

Thanks for Patty for her passion and ability to made this happen.

I like the trio Charlie-Sammer-Chief, want to see more of them and of course Etta Candy.

And Bruce's somewhat excessive security protection to deliver the real copy of Diana's photo is soooo Batman.

Love the recurring WW leitmotif theme, hoping that recurring character themes will apply to other DCEU movies. I want to hear Supe's in JL.

Thank you so much Patty, Gal, Chris, the cast, Geoff, Jon, Allan, Zack, Deborah, Jason and co.
You should be very proud.

The only Oscar category that I'm reasonably confident she would be nominated in is Costumes. Between Themiscyra and WWI Europe they were all quite exquisite.

Agreed, costume designer (Lindy Hemming) did a good job. It was a challenging task.

It would've been cool if Bruce delivered the photo personally and asked her to tell him her story.

Now I think about it, would it cost a fortune if Ben Affleck appeared as cameo in WW considering he is an A-list actor or it was already covered with his contract?

Apparently the buzz about Diana-Steve romance is quite a presence online and in social media. I recalled that Harley-Joker stuff from SS gained fans as well (even couples dressed as them for Halloween was popular last year).
It kept people talking and want some more, definitely good for the movie.

Shouldn't cost much, or anything what would that be? a day of shooting? If they wanted him in there it would be easy but I'm glad he didn't make an appearance. He was cool in Squad but the less things in WW remind of BvS existence the better

Yea, he was cool in SS and it could be cool if he appears as cameo in WW,
but at the end of the day, I'm also glad he wasn't.

It could take some spotlight from WW to Bruce Wayne/Batfleck/JL stuff.
I'm happy that WW is a more contained, personal story and WW got maximum exposure she needs for her debut self-titled movie.

It would have been very cool yes but there would have been people accusing WB of Tony Starking the DCEU and how WB don't have faith in their projects so they're using Batman to save it. Some people don't need much invitation to start complaining.

That's my point. I'm talking about her being acknowledged as such by the rest of the world and becoming an official ambassador of Themyscira. I honestly don't think it would be a huge lifestyle change for her like it would be for Clark or Bruce. She'd just get recognized more often and have to make public appearances, but otherwise, she'd still be living the high class life, still be attending exclusive galas and be a highly regarded expert on antiquities surely, lol.

Some people have it easy. :argh:

I'm glad he didn't appear. It would've been awful, as if WW can't even support her own movie and needs Batman to show up to get bums in seats.

Cavill congratulated Patty & Gal on movie's success on Instagram.

I wonder if Jaime Alexander and Ronda Rousey will congratulate Patty and Gal.......

Had this not been the first ever WW film, I would have loved a Justice League tie in at the end of some sort.

I thought Rousey in particular wanted to play Carol Danvers. Unless she was petitioning for Wonder Woman as well and I just missed it.

She did and said she'd make a much better WW (based on her fighting ability and because she thinks she's tougher).

Everyone is more likely to want to play WW than Carol Danvers anyway.

Oh no I'm tempted to buy it now.

I'm half way through it now and it is good, but it has it's detraction's...

Of course being a novelization there are going to be differences, seeing as I believe novelists usually work from the prefilmed material, so it misses the mark on some of the iconic scenes. But then again, it adds so much depths in others, especially with young Diana, her mother and Antiope.

There are editing errors too, but I can ignore those piddles...:cwink:

I still would have preferred Diana tell her story to Lois rather than Bruce. I really would like Lois to be a mouth piece for all of them and write articles so people can better understand what's going on with these metas. She should have already done that with Superman but didn't.

How did they managed to make Gal look younger in WW as compared to BvS ?

LOL, right!? I was watching some clips from BvS and that was my thought too.
It was either a conscious decision to somehow 'age' an immortal - or Gal Gadot herself and how she carries the persona of Diana in both eras. It's startling and fitting.

Are there any differences in characterisation? Do you hear Gal's voice for the character when reading it or does it seem like someone else?

I don't think she was telling her story to anyone. She seemed to be reminiscing to herself and the photo that Bruce sent her was merely the catalyst for that. I don't think she was telling him as such. She certainly wasn't typing her story or dictating it anywhere.

The secret identity makes more sense for Superman than Diana, imo. Her goal has never been to be a "regular joe." He's all about preserving his farm-grown upbringing as a way of preserving his humanity, while she's perfectly happy embracing her inner-demigoddess. She seems to be a wealthy high society woman already...one step away from actual royalty. For the world to acknowledge her as such would hardly be a big change for her. And it's not like she'd be putting her loved ones in danger like with Clark/Bruce. They're either all gone or deadly warriors, lol.

Have to agree with this here. She may have lain low over the decades, but as we can see in the movie, she certainly had no hang-ups then by simply showing who she is. I would hope they would keep that aspect - that forthright and defiant declaration - that above all else she is an Amazon.

As to the highlighted, I would say that she is far more true royalty than any other royal can be.:cwink:

It's been silly since the day it was introduced, regardless of where we've come in technology. But no one is going to be paying attention to Clark like they will Supes.

On a different note: They were trying to work in a Lynda Carter cameo and will try again for a sequel.

That would have been great, but I can see how it would have clashed a bit with the progress of the story. I can imagine many people geeking out about Carter being in scene with the new WW - but then also being 'taking out' of the story for that small bit. It would have been nice, but jarring at the same time.

Having this in a sequel though, when we've become identified and familiar with Gal Gadot's Diana, would be real nice.

And not just a small part either. I think it would be great if they gave her a substantive role, say as an exiled Amazon whose role and character is dubious.

When the movie ended I was really hoping for some acknowledgement that what happened in BvS made her take on the superhero mantle again. How I see it is that she let humans do what they do, but now there are super powered threats that humans can't possibly fight so she decides she must act.
