All Things Wonder Woman: An Open Discussion - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Part 25

Is there any chance that nothing relating to WW2 will be announced at SDCC, or that it will be bumped on the film slate in favour of other DC movies? How would people respond to that? Would WB/DC be mad not to announce any news for WW2 given that it's the most successful and critically praised of their movies and is currently playing in theatres?

I could see them announcing their intention of making WW 2 but not revealing the release date yet.

Did I read somewhere that they announced that Whedon is writing Wonder Woman 2 and there was no mention of Patty Jenkins? Please tell me, WB is not going to sideline her now that they have Whedon. Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth...

No, from what I have seen, Johns simply confirmed that he is working on the story for the sequel, and there was confirmation that WW2 is part of the upcoming slate of films, along with several other movies that were mentioned.

Nothing specific other than that.

i don't recall that. I thought Geoff Johns is writing it with Patty, and Whedon is writing Batgirl.

If Whedon were now replacing Jenkins that would be an absolute travesty, especially after his leaked script was so poorly received and after all that Patty has done for WW and for the DCEU.

There were a bunch of articles online containing some info about both Batgirl and WW2, I guess from the same series of questions at the Con, but Whedon is working on Batgirl, not WW2.

They haven't said anything about Patty or any other director being involved with WW2 yet either.

That video of Gal and the little girl. :hrt:

Wonder Woman's been out here since 1918, she fought in the Great War, reportedly in the Cold War and beside God in Batman v Superman yet no one seems to have noticed Wonder Woman, everyone's acting like she doesn't exist...For instance, Steppenwolf knows that Superman is "dead", the news of his demise reached across the Multiverse but he seems oblivious to Wonder Woman, Amanda Waller in Suicide Squad was like "what if there's another Superman" and crime is booming around the world, God went **** up, this is an auspicious time to be a criminal, no one's losing any sleep over Wonder Woman

I suppose the takeaway is that Women don't make History, even the Amazons' history consists of: created by Zeus - enslaved by Men - never put a foot outside Paradise Island, in a nutshell

The general feeling is that she has not been 'open' as Wonder Woman since her battle with Ares. We don't know exactly what she has been doing, except speculating that she's been doing good in more of a 'masked' way.

We may get some dialogue explaining what she has been up to until BvS, but we know that after that, she brought the WW costume out of the closet.

I would imagine that she hasn't been wearing the armor long enough in the present day for Steppenwolf to take note of her.

As mush as hate to admit it, the earlier poster is basically right, though.

You can bet that Marvel Studios won't make the same mistake with Captain Marvel.

If the studio can get Jenkins to sign on for the sequel, she may be able to rectify the situation, but by then DC will be playing catch-up again, in the area where they should have been out ahead.

How when Captain Marvel is already a deus ex machina being set in the 90s and yet no one knowing about or talking about her at all? It's especially strange since they just tried implementing a registration act for superheroes and "the most powerful one" isn't mentioned?

They (MCU fans) trust Feige will do the right thing.

The Captain Marvel movie is set in 90's. Captain Marvel in MCU will be an astronaut, who will get her powers in Space, and do some Star Wars - type space adventure in her movie.

Since Skrulls are the villains who can shape-shift and blend in as humans on Earth, they will imprison / or kidnap Captain Marvel, who will get free and return to Earth to fight against Thanos in Infinity War 2.

And MCU fans are OK with Fiege changing minor points in her origin story, her costume, so it's not a problem for them.

Is WW having a different costume here ? The gold part of her armor looks silver here ?

And she'll wield cool terms like "turd blossom" that weren't around in the '90s when she took off into outer space.

Hey look its WONDERWOMANSUPERFAN#1 who hasnt posted since every troll predictyion he made about the movie was proven wrong. Still think Patty screwed everything up by putting all her power in the bracelets? How was that complaint that it was stupid she needed to use a shield? :D

BTW Steppenwolf knows Superman is dead because Lex told him. At least pretend to know what you are talking about when you troll.

And both Lex and Waller knew about Wonder Woman...man it is easy to destroy your trolling. :D

Your "women cant make make history" concern trolling was sad even by your standards.

Dont take anything this dude says seriously. He trolled this board for weeks leading up to the film (he is the only true Wonder Woman Fan ya know) then when it was obvious it would be a critical and financial hit he disappeared.

What are you even talking about? First of all Jenkins is going to sign on. Second how exactly is DC playing "catch up" when they had the female lead movie first, it is going to hit $800 million at the box office ($400 DOM to make it the highest grosser of the summer) and critics and fans loved it? Because 12 nerds on a message board need continuity porn and 1 troll makes stuff up to try and stir the pot?

Dial it back lol.

I loved the movie, and of course it was a huge success.

But, as far as the character's impact on the extended universe and overall story is concerned, you are kidding yourself if you think Marvel Studios won't handle it better, in a way that is glaringly obvious to everyone.

Like they did for The Mandrin or MJ and who could forget The Ancient One? :funny:

Also The Inhumans looks awesome can't wait to see it in theatres!... said no one ever.

Handle what better? Seriously what are you talking about? (not angry or anything but I just dont understand) Is this about how she went underground after WWI because literally no one cares but people on boards like this. You dont see anyone questioning it.

Sorry but it just seems like you are looking for a reason to knock a movie and a universe for no reason.

Yeah, Marvel Studios is infallible and the other studios are incompetent and don't know what they're doing. Someone had to bring DC vs Marvel into this.

I find it sad that, even after 1,000+ years, Norse mythology's Thor is still playing catch up with Marvel's "Thor".
