Well, it's hard to write a review when I know the writer doesn't want spoilers to creep out (and is watching.....)

So all I'll say is:

If you liked part I, part 2 is even better.

Especially the part where Norman, uh, ......

Well, how about we talk about the part where Norman and Harry, .........

And the scene with Vin was classic.

Thus ending the vague-ist review that you'll ever read.

if u have spoliers can u pm me does norman know?

Yeah, I'm guessing I'll get a lot of that.

So yes, Norman does know.........

..........that you shouldn't swim right after eating.

IGN preview pages have me drooling more than Venom himself!

I want to know about Harry. You can't just tease people like this. PM please.

I saw a preview. My head's boggling about one thing... minor spoilers ahead... If the symbiote still bonded with Peter in the past, then shouldn't it still retain memories of his ID?

Sure I can! :D

Look, I just wanted to get the conversation started. DS specifically asked for people not to spoil it. I might do some pm'ing, but seriously, isn't it more fun to find out with comic in hand?

Why would the mind-wipe be limited to humans?

Why would the mind-wipe be limited to humans?

Because the symbiote is able to negate the effects of hell magics. As evidenced when ghost rider fought and got stomped by venom, hell fire minorly effective but the penance stare blew up in GR's face. I doubt it will be mentioned any more than that nurse eddie killed sans symbiote recently but still got Murdock to release him, but there is actually a history of hell magics having severe trouble affecting a person joined with a symbiote.

New ways to die is still great regardless of the lack luster BND that preceeded it. :cwink:

THIS is a spidey story. he's written mature in here....well at least everything that happened I expected from spidey. its got everything you'd want in a spidey tale. If they kept up a pace like this...I could forgive them for OMD.

and I truly dislike that story.

I won't spoil the first ish. but Menance has FINALLY done something worth while that made me go oh crap....this guy actually thinks.

I was just commenting on the mindwipe thing and it's relation to venom given it's previous history against demonic energies, not the story at all. It seems pretty good, though Murdock getting eddie out of jail screams plot device and is totally out of character. The rest jives, as much as any story could with the massive baggage it's carrying.

Good point, md. I never really read any of Venom's stuff (never cared for the brain-eating stuff), and I didn't like GR that much (figures, the only thing Mackie was praised for, and I didn't like it).

Ok, this is a deep question, probably too deep but...

Is Mephisto only interested in Human souls? Is he only powerful on Earth or throughout the universe? I mean do all beings thoughout the universe get sent to hell, or are there multiple versions of hell and multiple versions of Mephisto.

Yes.

Here's an early (and favorable) review I found of the next issue which gives some spoilers:

Overall rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!

May as well start with the big stuff: Anti-Venom is Eddie Brock! While I let you chew on that bit of information, let’s go back to the beginning and discuss what is probably the best comic to hit the stands this week. For those who thought Norman Osborn did indeed remember Spider-Man’s true identity: think again. But this may not have been the retcon we all thought it was. Peter knows that no one remembers who Spider-Man is, and he even mentions that is was something “we did.” I highly doubt he remembers any of his deal with Mephisto, so is it possible that the big mind wipe was the result of something else? Quesada has blatantly said that the Civil War unmasking did happen, but no one remembers who it was behind the mask. At first I was annoyed and thought this was a part of the Mephisto “we don’t have to explain it” Magic, but now I am intrigued, and want to know the true source. Perhaps a favor from Dr. Strange?

To touch on some more mysteries, it looks that Martin Li/Mr. Negative story may be more of a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde relationship than a controlled transformation. Indeed, Li appears to have no knowledge of his other self. Up until now, I thought that Crowne was a simple politician, who, like everyone, may have a skeleton or two in his closet. But if Peter Parker’s musings are correct, then Crowne and Osborn may have a direct relation to the “Spider-Tracer Killer.” And speaking of Osborns, was it just me, or was that a hint that Harry may be Menace? (Or were they just showing that he may be reverting back to the Green Goblin?) Either way, something’s up, and with the upcoming “Goblin Fight,” I think this particular mystery may be solved sooner, rather than later.

And to think, I haven’t even touched on the goings-on in this book, nor even how Eddie Brock became Anti-Venom. Well, seeing as how this is one of the best Spidey-Stories of the decade, I’m probably doing you a favor by encouraging you to buy it. Why are you still reading this? Go to your local comic shop now! (And as a reminder, don’t forget to pick up the absolutely FREE Marvel: Your Universe One-Shot while you’re at it!)

Well, looks like I was [BLACKOUT]wrong about the indenity Anti-Venom although, technically, wouldn't he still be Venom just in a new outfit?[/BLACKOUT] Also, I'm sure that revelation about Peter is going to cause even more debate.

Actually it was an older spider-man issue. It featured demogoblin and the spiderclonething with hag and troll trying to revive deathwatch. Spider-Man gets involved (trying to save a kid) helping GR and Johnny Blaze. Lots of venom fighting everyone to get to Spider-Man. I forget most of the issue, but I'm sure someone with a better memory (who actually collects comics) will come along with the issue number and corrections to my faulty memory.

I can't wait to get this issue tommorow. I've been dieing to read part 2 of New Ways To Die since last week when the first Issue came out.
